Huge disappointment at Delta Sonic on Main St. I've been a member since I moved to Rochester. I have been loyal even though member charges have changed twice. I now am charged $40 a month. The location has been under major renovation for several months. No prewash, no towel drying, no area to clean inside the vehicle. Still month after month $40. When I canceled my membership the young lady simply said "why don't I go to a different location ". Delta Sonic: you are a convenience in location, not a brand. read more

I blamed the oil spot on my driveway on my sons car bc I trusted vioc wouldnt fail me.However,upon close i nspection the oil filter on my 2019 Silverado pu had oil dripping from it .I know when a filter is leaking having changed my own oil for decades. Webster vioc denied it leaked,but said they put a new filter on today(9-28-24) .I am waiting to see if it stops leaking.I did not appreciate them saying it wasn't leaking I should have taken a pic of the filter,but I left my phone out so I wouldnt break it,having spent many hours under trucks,changing oil.They lost my trusting business. read more

Would give it a zero if I could. Took our Nissan Murano for an oil change. They recommended that we change our rear differential fluid. We had 44,500 miles on the vehicle. They said it was due every 20,000 miles (lie). Then they stripped the fluid screw and said they couldn't change it. Called Nissan Service and were told in this climate it is recommended to be changed every 60,000. So now we have to pay to get the screw removed and a new screw. Shysters! STAY AWAY! read more

I watched these guys let a car drive away with either the oil filter or the drain plug not all the way screwed in and oil started pouring out immediately....and then I go to leave hoping it was just a fluke on that car....nope! They completely forgot to attach the under body skid plate to my car, so when I started driving away I could hear the other half it attaches to flapping and smacking the underside of my car! Thankfully I didn't get too far before I had to turn around...I got back and they admitted fault but didn't proceed to refund me the tiniest bit or even mention anything for the fault. It would've been nice to either get a discount or a slight refund for potentially damaging my vehicle. Other than that the prices here are about on par with what you'd expect for an oil change specific place...a decent value that always has a coupon in their app! read more

I'm giving 5 stars but with some side notes: The staff is kind and respectful. I stayed in my car the entire time which is a concept that is LONG overdue in oil changes, and it was a no-contact experience; no need to clean up afterwards from oily hands/shoes, and was a mere 10 minutes worth. This is all great. I did witness what other reviews have said: I had a conversation with the car next to mine as we waited; they were going in for an inspection. It does indeed take a bit too long, and I think 40 minutes is accurate. And it was a much newer car, within five years old. I would like to get inspections there in the future due to the convenience and cleanliness, but for any car less than ten years old I can't see it taking longer than 20 minutes. I was forewarned that they're also too strict about the inspections. Today, in this economy and our need to hold on to our cars due to supply chain garbage, they of course should be strict about safety stuff like brakes/lights, but they need to ease up on other standards. I have to go to a personal mechanic who will be more forgiving on some of the more aggressive standards set, else I'd never be able to afford to drive. Nor would countless people. They did tell me they may be servicing tires in the near future. If they would do more items...such as tires, tire repairs, brakes, batteries and exhaust...I'd come back just for the ease of staying in my car and getting it done while on my phone, reading, whatever. They really should expand their services, I'm sure many would take advantage of them, and they'd have less a need to try to push sales the way they do on some people. They don't get pushy with me because they can tell I know my stuff and am not an easy target, and won't tolerate slimy sales tactics. But again, they're good people at this location, don't get me wrong. Offer more services guys. I'll come on occasion just to keep my car and myself from the filth of my (wonderful and loved, lol) mechanic. read more

Unadvertised shortage of inspectors in Rochester, NY. Only two locations offering State Inspection as of 11/5/2022 - 2472 Monroe Ave Brighton, NY 14618 and 654 East Ridge Road, Irondequoit, NY 14621. I arrived at my local Valvoline 30 mins. before opening - waited to have my car serviced. Pull through the garage and was informed that this location wasn't doing vehicle inspections and that only two locations were doing inspections in the Rochester, NY area. Note: this has not been the case in years past. I hurry over to the closest of the two, pull up to the location, and speak with one of the employees. Very straightforward, he informs me that it would be a 4-hour wait in order to get an inspection... I half expected this to be the case - arriving 12 minutes after opening to one of two locations in my city providing inspections. Nonetheless, I was still taken aback by the inability of Valvoline to provide such a fundamental service. This review isn't so much about the service I received (or lack thereof, however, the two employees I spoke with were apologetic and willing to explain the situation), but more so an inditement on the company itself for lack of information and failing to provide for perhaps the highest-demand vehicle service. To have 9 locations in the Rochester, NY area and only provide state inspection services at two locations is not good, nor convenient service. To not warn potential customers on your website of said shortage, while not necessarily false marketing, is nonetheless unfortunate as uninformed people would just assume the service would be provided. To have to drive to a location and speak with an employee just trying to do their job in order to get an explanation for a service you lack is a bad experience. While I understand not advertising the shortage of inspectors for fear of losing service, ultimately, you end up driving away potential customers like myself due to this type of inconvenience. I propose Valvoline addresses this shortage by (a) adding a banner to the front page of https://www.valvoline.com/ acknowledging potential shortages, (b) on locations pages, noting if a location provides inspection services or not, (c) providing locations that don't offer inspections proper signage to acknowledge that they don't provide inspections to people arriving to the location assuming they could be serviced (this would prevent people from having to wait to speak with an employee, only to be informed of the shortage of inspectors), or (d) hire/train more inspectors to meet the demand for a highly sought-after service. Having received services from Valvoline on several occasions, I understand the convenience of having multiple locations capable of providing automotive preventive maintenance services in my area. However, having experienced issues the last three years when attempting to get my vehicle inspected, something needs to change in order to address this failure on behalf of this brand's management, marketing, employee training, website team... whoever's responsible for any of the items noted above to address this issue. read more

I've been to Valvoline a number of times and they're great for a quick oil change. I do find their price fairly high BUT you are in and out under 10 minutes. Conventional oil change will run you around $40 and synthetic is over $60. Usually they also try to upsell you everything under the sun: new air filter, different additives, new wipers, etc. Super annoying in my opinion. But at today's visit, I REALLY appreciated not being asked to buy any extras. :-) Also had a coupon emailed to me for a conventional oil change for $19.99! SCORE! Basically half off! They did try to get me to do the synthetic oil for $15 off but when I said "No thanks" ... no badgering. Workers were super friendly. Fun to talk to. I even came right at closing time and they took me when they could have probably turned me away. Will definitely be back! Keep those coupons coming!!!! read more

This was very convenient, quick, and a good overall experience for an oil change. You are able to stay right in your car while they work on it. The manager and the people working there were very friendly and helpful. Although they suggested various services that I could benefit from, for example replacing air filters, etc., when I declined, they were not pushy. Don't go without an online coupon! This place is really good. I was greeted when I arrived and immediately my tires were checked and filled. One tire had a slow leak and the service person found a screw in the tire so now I know about that. Inside the garage, three persons worked on my car. The service "coordinator" who took my information and coordinated the man on top who changed the oil and the man in the pit who removed my old oil. The man on top checked all my fluids and my battery quality. He topped off those fluids that were low. My air filter, windshield wipers, lights and turn signals were also checked. I was advised of each action as it took place and was treated like a guest rather than as a customer. The topside fellow also gave me a recommendation for replacement tires that were on sale elsewhere in the neighborhood. The bottom-side fellow told me that the person who changed my oil the last time, did not tighten the oil filter properly and thus, I could have ended up with an oil leak. All in all, I could have a nice lunch with these folks and feel at home. Efficient, friendly and reliable. read more
