First of all, I would like to say that the cotton candy thingamabobore snow thing was excellent, perfectly crafted. And on top of it, the scenery of this place was amazing, the music made it even more awesome. One of the best food places I have been to in a long time. I'm not sure who was taking my order, I believe she said her name was Kaylee or kaylen, but she was extremely nice and accommodating. I don't remember having a more personal and nice server. Had high tea here recently and it was really fun and delicious! My only complaints were that it was quite pricey for the experience and food you get, and that you only get to try 1 variety of tea per person. I would have loved the option to do a tea flight and try more of what the shop has to offer. I liked that they let us take home the leftovers because it was very filling! Not "$120+ for 2 people" filling, but... you know. During our meal there were a couple flies that kept landing on the table, but that can't really be helped. The store itself was nice and clean and very quiet, and everything we tried was tasty. I think it was a good 1-time experience, but I don't have any plans to return at this time. read more

I've missed Vampire Penguin! The two that were near me both closed. I saw this one while at the Palladio and rushed inside for a treat. They have different flavors than the one by my house used to. Snow on a hot summer day? Sign me up! I stopped by recently for a sweet treat, and it was the perfect pick-me-up. I ordered the I Love You So Mochi snow, which was nice and sweet without being too intense. I really liked the mini mochis included. The texture of the snow was perfect, not too slushy or creamy. The inside of the shop is super cute too! There are reserved tables that had full tea sets on them, so next time I'm craving something sweet I'll look into reserving one of those. read more

My hubby and I came to check this place out on their Grand Opening, excited to see a milk tea place opening up near us; however, we were disappointed with the service. Both the Palladio and Vampire Penguin Folsom's social media pages advertised a free potion (see picture) from 10am-9pm which would be a fantastic way to gain peoples attention and loyalty in the future. Unfortunately, we had so much trouble redeeming this as the person up front first told us there was no such offer and then changed her response to it was only good until 12pm. After showing her the Palladio page, she said that they weren't accepting that offer since it wasn't their own social media page - my husband then showed them Vampire Penguin Folsom's social media page and finally the manager offered a BOGO deal. Why advertise this if you're going to try to beat around and avoid the offer? This rubbed me wrong as i saw it happen to others as well! The drinks themselves were okay. The potion was very refreshing and the taro milk tea had good flavor. Parking is a bit difficulty if you're looking to order quickly and I think it would be helpful to have the menu posted somewhere other than just on the counter when you walk up to order. This place is newly opened. Just next door from sea quest. I came on weekday after lunch time. The place is big and lots of seating. I been wanting to go vampire pinguin but the one in granite Bay is kind of smaller. I'm so glad they opened up new locations with nice and big seating area and easier to find parking. The ice shaved is definitely good. Nothing to complain about really. They have nice booth seating and then flower backgrounds with two chairs for Pic on the side which block the restroom door. They definitely did a great job on blocking the restroom door view with those wall flowers. Will be back again if I'm in the area and definitely recommend this to my friends. Service is basically more on the register has cashier ring up them after that they will just bring the shaved ice over. So far it's great experience. My family and I came during their grand opening weekend! We love Vampire Penguin and have tried it at their Davis and Granite Bay location. Now, I'm so very happy they're finally in folsom! The location is located right by SeaQuest, parking was not an issue. We ordered the shave snow in two flavors (bubble gum and cookies & cream) as well as the Fruitopia shave snow (comes with condensed milk and a variety of fruits, we chose not to add the condensed milk). All varieties were extremely good and delicious. It did take some time to get our order, perhaps more time than we are used but they were definitely worth the wait. Cute place. Probably the vampire penguin with the most pinks and purples and flowers. They had a few tables reserved for tea parties. All dudes working there when i came in. Very friendly and patient. Menus are at the front. I always get the orange dreamsicle. It's super refreshing and reminds me of tart orange juilius with ice cream in the middle. Kiddo loved his Oreo s'mores or the strawberry cheese cake. I know they don't offer the pina colada here which BD was disappointed about. Prices about the same. Parking won't be easy for a drive by at it's in the Palladio and on busy days you won't be able to park right in front, and depending on day/ time it'll be a walk to get here. I planned my daughters 9th birthday party here and it was literally perfect. The staff was so sweet, accommodating and had great attitudes. This place is super clean, the decor is adorable. We have been twice since moving to the area and today will be the last time. The first time that we went in a month ago it really felt like the employees didn't really want to be there. The attitude, their tone of voice, felt like apologizing for bothering them. Tonight we made the huge mistake of sitting at one of the tables with the comfortable chairs and we were curtly told not to sit there that they were reserved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It should be noted that there was a "Reserved" sign on another table, not ours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The attitudes haven't changed much since last time, my wife was really put off by being told to move as the place only had a few other people. We were just getting something to go, the curtness wasn't necessary at all. Plenty of other more welcoming and less pretentious places in the area to get drinks and treats with kinder service. We went here because we were so intrigued by the fun name. What an awesome surprise. The place was like a snow cone meets Alice in Wonderland with flowers on the wall and fancy tea sets on the tables. This place is a little girl's dream, my adult daughter also loved it. The shaved snow was very interesting but amazing. This was literally like food art. We tried two different flavors and we were blow away with the flavor, uniqueness and creativity of each one. Today we even had the opportunity to taste fresh boba that was still warm. We also tried a few of the teas which were also amazing. We liked them so much we went back all three days we were in town. The service was over the top exceptional. I cannot compliment them enough. All three days we saw the same two young people taking great pride in their work and providing excellent service. Between the two of them they handled numerous customers taking orders, making and delivering the food and ringing everyone up. We were very impressed. This place was really fun and interesting and I would HIGHLY recommend it for an evening treat and especially if you have younger daughters who love having tea. 5 stars all the way. read more

I came here for Vampire Penguin's afternoon tea service. Reservations can be made by emailing the restaurant in advance. It is more of a casual dessert spot, so when I went, only a couple of tables were set up for afternoon tea while the other half of the restaurant was for walk-in customers. Definitely different, but the tea set-up was really nice. Prices were reasonable too and portions were huge! Had we known portions were going to be that big, we would have shared a queen's tea set and gotten a couple of pots of tea. For someone with a not very big appetite and watching what she's eating, even the leftovers were too much for me. I got the cotton candy rooibos tea. I'm a big cotton candy person and like my sweets - the cotton candy flavor was too subtle for me. I'm also a big fruit tart fan and would have preferred a more crisp pastry shell. Everything was okay taste-wise though and I'm always happy when egg and cucumber sandwiches are part of the tea set. I could tell the owner put a lot of thought into their afternoon tea service and really aims to please, and that's always appreciated. As you can see from the pictures, the place settings were lovely. Attention to detail was evident at every table. This tea house served food that was without a doubt the BEST tea foods I've eaten since my tea at the Ritz in London! Everything served was fresh and so delicious. Crumpets were served prior to the loaded tea trays coming out. There was so much food! The medium priced afternoon tea ran $58 and the more expensive tea, which includes a salad runs $68. I wanted to plan a tea party for my 7 year old granddaughter. J was a little turned off by the name (I don't get the connection) but it was the only place I found. The only real complaint was even though the cupcakes were beautiful, the frosting wasn't so great. When a 7 year old doesn't want anymore than a bite you know it's not your typical cupcake. When we walked in, we were not even greeted by the cashier who had their head down in their phone.
