A little backstory: My best friend's longboard was stolen from his car a couple of years ago and my plan was to replace it with a new one for his birthday, which is tomorrow. I was tipped by Sunvalley Mall Vans that the nearest Vans "pro shop" to me was this one. So I gave this Store a call and it was picked up right away. I asked if they sold longboard and they said yes. I dragged birthday boy with me since I figured it would be better that he chose which board he liked best than choosing one myself and risk it not being liked by him. When we got there, we were greeted by a friendly employee whose name I believe was David (assistant manager). He was super helpful and patient with us. He really broke every part down for my friend in order to help him build a skateboard (my friend decided on a skateboard instead). He let us know about a discount that we qualified for by purchasing a complete custom board. In the end, he even put it together for us. Great customer service here. So I didn't have a good experience in this store. Salesman was very helpful bringing out my sizes. A sale is in progress. Demo shoe was marker $33 and I confirmed this price with salesman. When I went to pay I was told $65! Another customer hearing this brought over the demo shoe and confirmed it was marked $33. They would not honor the price marked on the shoe. Shipping online is free so I left the store unhappy and ordered shoes online. This is the first time I've ever seen a store not honoring marked shoe prices in front of 3 customers! I will not be back to this store and suggest you may also just order online if you know your size. read more

This Vans is located in the Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton. I usually do not write reviews for retail stores, but a couple of their employees are not as friendly or helpful at this particular location. I had came here multiple times and the service is usually at least decent, but this last visit left a sour taste in my mouth. My bf and I were shopping for white vans, but we both have not bought Vans in awhile so we decided to play it safe and try on the shoes first. We flagged down a worker to ask to get the shoes in our sizes - we told her both of our sizes in men and women sizes. She came back after awhile, handed us one box in my size and walked away - we approached her and asked for the other size for my bf and she looked at us, gave us a side remark saying we didn't even ask her for the other size, then went to get it. read more

While the supervisor is checking me out and attempting to conVi me to work there. she failed to remove the security tags on half the clothes I purchased. Further more after returning 2 days later they refuse to help me without a receipt because they don't keep records. worst Vans there is. Do not shop here. read more

Usually love going to this store and never had any issues. Today I went in with my little sister because I wanted to purchase a new pair of slip ons. I asked for a size and a nice dude in the back helped me out. As I was trying them on, I saw that the lady at the cashier was watching me. After deciding that I wanted to buy the shoes, we walked around the store a few times to look for more things to buy. My little sister was looking at the hats and I was standing next to her and I was on my phone. The cashier lady then comes up to us and asked if we needed help and I said no. She then asks if she can "hold my shoes up front at the cashier". I was surprised so I was just like "ok, sure". Not sure why she would ask to hold the shoes if I'm about to purchase them in the first place?? She just did that because she thought we were gonna steal them. Probably my son and I's most favorite store for sneakers. We go here about 4 times a year to catch up on the new shoes that they have in stock. Every year before we go on our annual Disney trip to Anaheim, we pick up a new pair of Disney sneakers. That way we can be all disney-ed :) out in our gear. What more better quality shoes that a whole lot better than Nike and Addidas? Vans, of course! If you want shoes that will last, go buy quality shoes, not because it's expensive, it's because you don't need to replace them over and over again. I think it's pretty inexpensive for a $60-$90 that will last me for 2-3 years. There are so much colors and patterns to choose from! The staff are really nice, even though it's a very small branch, there are more than enough employees to help all of us Van fanatics with all our needs. 5 stars for Paige. Stopped in last night around closing and Paige was super helpful. Not olny was she knowledgeable but she was friendly, and professional. What impressed me most was the fact that she was not trying to rush us out. I had an inner sense of urgency knowing the store was closing but she in fact continued to talk and point out flannels, inviting my husband and I to keep looking. Went to school shopping for my son and he decided to walk in Vans. I usually do not wear VANS, but as I was walking around I saw items that I thought I'd wear myself. Good variety. I wasn't aware that they had kids shoes as well, so that piqued my interest even more. My son ended up buying a few pairs of shoes and I actually bought my first pair of VANS shoes. I also noticed that the young man who helped us- Micka, Mika, or Micah ( sorry if I misspelled his name- these days everyone seems to spell their names so differently) was very helpful. Well it was okay until the sales lady started following me around the store, asking me multiple times if I "need help", even while I was talking on the phone with my mom, which translates to: "I'm watching your punk ass because I think you're going to shove a ton of merch down your skinny jeans and walk the fuck outta here without paying". I might add that the store was packed and she wasn't hassling anyone else. Yeah, yeah, I wasn't carrying a purse, so you might have thought I was casing the joint and didn't have any money, but I actually had a wallet full of credit cards and cash in my pocket. Hey, why don't you go harrass the guy with the huge Fubu jeans or the girl with the purse that could fit two sweatshirts, a pair of shoes, ten belts, and a soccer ball in it instead? My daughter, boyfriend and I stopped by today. We browsed around for a bit before anyone assisted us. My daughter picked out a pair of the new Nintendo Vans. Since this was our first stop, I asked if they could be put on hold. The girl said yes, she took down my name and stated that the shoes would be at the counter when we came back. After doing some shopping and grabbing lunch we came back. The girl who initially helped up recognized us as we walked back in. She came up and explained that the shoes we put on hold were accidentally sold!! But said they had more than enough in the back, she said she forgot what sizes we needed. We told her and got them. I also grabbed a black pair for work. We get to the counter and the guy says my total is: $131 and some change. Thinking to myself, that's kinda high ($42 for my daughter and $50 for mine). But it's going make my daughter happy so I proceed with the purchase. As we walk out I double check the receipt and they charged me $70 for her shoes! Some KIDS shoes!!!! I had my bf go double check the price on the shoe and it says $42. I ask the clerks why was I charged so much and they said "you purchased Youth shoes, they go up in price from Kids to Youth." I said the shoe has a sticker price of $42 on it. The clerk said they were in the wrong spot. So I returned the shoes. They didn't even offer to mark it down to the correct price (online and in-store!) I ended up ordering the shoes online since no other store in the mall had them. Also the girl said that no other retailers had these, which was a lie! Journey's has them and they have exclusive pairs!! Update: 8/5/17 A little over a year later. My bf, daughter and I stopped by. Just like before, we browse, don't get any help. When we finally do, the guy (new associate) who asked us for a size, completely forgot about b/c I saw him later at the register ringing people up. My daughter picked out some shoes and we placed them on hold. We did some more shopping, grabbed lunch and came back. There was the guy who initially helped us at the register, when we walked up, I had explained that we put some shoes on hold. He looked really confused. Looking at the back counter (where they put hold items) there wasn't anything there. A girl came up and asked if we needed help. I explained to her that we put some shoes on hold. They obviously weren't there. So she went to the back to get it. A line had started to form while we were waiting. While standing in front of a register, another associate came up, didn't even look at us and yelled out "I can take the next person" I said "we were next!!! We've been waiting for over 10 minutes for some shoes we put on hold!!!" He left to go check on the girl who went to grab our shoes. Effin ridiculous!!! While we were waiting, a customer had left their wallet that another customer found. When she came back to retrieve it, the "new associate" just handed it over to her. Didn't ask for her to describe it, or see if she maybe had a matching ID!! read more

Dude! Is there anything l33ter than a new pair of Vans? We skate with them! We bike with them! We shoot hoops with them! Bands tour with them! the Suicide Machines wrote a song about them! This store has an awesome selection and there always seem to be some type of sale going on (like a BOGO or 2fer). I have to admit too that the staff do a really good job. I figured that the service would suck coming into this place (gigantic shoe manufacturer store at a mall), but the employees are always pleasant and happy to let you try on whatever you like (except for the boxers but that is prolly cool that they don't let you do that). read more

I shopped here for the first time over the weekend to get shoes for my daughter. Our sales person greeted us, introduced himself (I believe his name was Josh). He was a very nice guy, so friendly and personable. We chatted about how busy the store was with all the back to school shoppers, all the cool styles, etc. He mentioned he was pretty new and this was only his 4th shift at the store, but I would have never guessed because he was so confident and helpful. You don't find this type of service everywhere, so I was appreciative for it. I'll definitely be back. read more

I'm extremely new to the area and it was my first time at the mall in general and all I can say is that the customer service was excellent, two employees (Oliver and liliana or Leona?) had helped my daughter and I and they were utterly amazing! They were very efficient and made me feel like I wasn't just a customer. I've been in the store five times since and Leona always makes a big deal when I come in! I wish I had found the shoes I was looking for but my size what out of stock. Impressive that such young staff blew the higher end stores out of the water with their attentive service. If I could give zero stars for the horrible service I received I would. I walked into the Vans store 3 days before Christmas to get that one last gift for my daughter and to make a return. I was in happy spirits knowing my shopping was almost done. When I arrived at the store a rude saleswoman abruptly told me I had to wait outside the store and to get in line. I tried to ask a question and she barked out another rude comment and turned her back on me. I was so shocked at how horrible their service was when I kindly had asked a question. I decided not to buy the item from them or make my return instead I went to Nordstrom where I was able to purchase the same item that night at Nordstrom that my daughter wanted. I would highly recommend anyone interested in Vans shoes or apparel to go to Nordstrom, they have the same items or better quality similar ones. They have lovely service, were so kind and lifted my spirits. They even wrapped my gift! I was able to get the same shoes she wanted and will never return to a Vans store. The only reason this store is getting only 5 stars is because it won't allow me to go any higher. The staff at this location are so accommodating and willing to work with their customers! My brother and I both had issues that are out of the store's control, but they went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated and happy! I am so livid with this place. they are very irresponsible. I went in today to buy some sk8 high's and first of all every response I got was "sorry we don't have that size" "sorry sorry sorry" Finally a worker found a pair that fit me and there was only one shoe in the box. I asked may I get both shoes in the box and he says he'll get the display one, clean it, and put it in the box for when I come back and purchase it ( I had to put it on hold) anyway I purchased it and when I got home, THERE WAS ONLY ONE SHOE IN THE BOX. how irresponsible and inconsiderate 1) you're supposed to check if both shoes are in the box and they're the correct size and the people did not do that before selling it to me. I called them and their excuse was "oh yeah.. things like that happen." not helpful at all. this place is awful and I am heated that that's all they had to say after being stupid and not checking like a worker should do. if you ever go to this one, check for yourself so you don't waste your time. read more

I have been going to this Vans location since I was young and I loved it. The customer service was always really great everyone was friendly. But I went in there a few days back and there is one guy who makes me never want to go in there ever again! Todd? He made me want to never step foot in a Vans again. Looked to be in his 40's. He was being very very creepy. I felt so uneasy the whole time I was there. I felt as though he was following me and staring at me after I was greeted, and I don't think I look that suspicious. I have never had anyone follow me in a store. I do not advise going in there if you are a woman who gets creeped out easily. And to top it off I witnessed him sexually harassing one of the employees!!!!! WHO DOES THAT?! He was hitting this young womans butt with his foot and flirting. And this was a young girl, I wouldn't say any older than 18 maybe even younger. This man looked well into his 40's! I am not ok with this at alll. I don't know how he still has his job if this is how he treats teenagers openly in a retail store. EEK. Do not shop there!! I have been going to the Livermore Outlets, soooo much nicer. read more
