Attended a pop-up event at the Vast where they converted their lounge into a 1960s airport cocktail lounge. Reservation was secured by purchased ticket on OpenTable. Valet parked at the hotel next door and was able to access their reception at the Devon Tower from the hotel lobby. I dined solo and was able to select my own space since seating was open. It was a quiet, delightful evening. Exceptional service by their staff; professional, polite and knowledgeable. I tried their steak bites and braised mini carrots. Cocktails were thoughtfully crafted featuring WonderFolk spirits, locally distilled in Guthrie, OK. Loved the attention to detail, everything from the bartender dawning a pilot suit to the vintage posters and magazines to the shag carpet and PANAM tote on the bar. Pricing was a little more than expected - for two tickets, two cocktails, two apps (no dinner plates offered), tip & $16 valet - $146 evening. The trade off is a quiet, exclusive experience and service that goes above and beyond. Vast: Views at 49 Floors, Food at Room Temp As a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, former restaurant owner, creator of Hawaii Food Tours, and longtime food writer, I've spent decades in dining rooms from Waikiki to Wembley. Which is why today's lunch at Vast deserves a proper critique. The Good: The 49th‑floor views are stunning, the interior sleek, and our server was sweet and fun. The Bad: Every protein on the buffet line--chicken, pork loin, flank steak, shrimp--was cool, not hot. Tough, chewy textures made me wonder if the food had been cooked, chilled, and then forgotten. Serving cold entrées is unforgivable. The Ugly: Silverware was removed with the plates and then placed back on the table liner--a surface touched by countless diners and staff. Training and oversight are clearly absent. Verdict: Vast may soar above Oklahoma City with its skyline views, but its buffet is grounded in mediocrity. Lovely views, lovely room, but the food needs a pep talk, a heat source, and a retraining manual. ‍ One Last Note: "View" spot restaurants have forever been notoriously less than they should be. If Vast believes altitude equals excellence, it doesn't. Excellence comes from hot food, proper training, and respect for diners. We were in Oklahoma City for the Thanksgiving holiday. Since we flew in, we weren't in a position to cook our own meal, so we did a quick scout of what restaurants were offering a Thanksgiving meal. We've never been to Oklahoma City before, so just based on the website and other online reviews, we chose Vast as where we would eat our Thanksgiving dinner. We chose a lunchtime seating and only had to wait about 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. It was worth the wait, as we got a window seat. It was a beautiful sunny day, so we were able to seefor miles. Patrons that had seats ln the interior of the restaurant did not have nearly the view, as the shades were pulled down pretty far to prevent sun in people's eyes. So we were blessed with our seat location. The buffet line itself requires going through the whole restaurant, down long hallway and into a far room to get to the food. But it was worth the walk! One long buffet table had a green salad with toppings, a Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, crudités, and more. The hot main course line included stuffing, yams, green bean casserole, lobster mac & cheese, prime rib, and turkey. The prime rib was amazing, and they have a delicious horseradish sauce to go with it. I especially enjoyed the lobster mac & cheese, and my boyfriend, who generally doesn't go for that type of side dish, really enjoyed it as well. For dessert, you are led to a completely different room, where they had a table with three or four different types of cookies (sugar, chocolate chip, M&M, and more) and another table with small desserts, such as pecan pie bites, pumpkin pie bites, a dark chocolate mousse type dessert, and a strawberry shooter with delicious Chantilly cream. Everything was all you can eat, and was just delicious. The waitstaff was attentive but not annoying, and overall it was just a classy, delicious, Thanksgiving meal that we will certainly remember. It's nice that they have a dedicated elevator that takes you straight to the top of the building where the restaurant is located. In addition, in the lobby, they had a Photo Booth set up that allowed you to take four photos that are later emailed to you. What a great day! Highly recommend!! read more

This restaurant was incredibly good! The vibe is wonderful and the view is outstanding. The corner table we were seated in had windows on two sides and overlooked the arena where the Thunder plays. Ambience here was great and the decor was beautiful. We got bone marrow appetizer and salads to start. We both ordered steak and the little potato parcels that came with it. Vast is one of the most impressive restaurants that I've been to in a long time. Located on the 49th floor of the Devon tower, this restaurant is beautiful during the day but even more so at night. Sitting by the window, the bird eye view of the downtown landscape is simply breathtaking. The scenery alone makes for one heck of an unforgettable dining experience of your life. Simply put it, Vast is a must try restaurant. The food is top notched. All three of us shared the starter (roasted bone marrow) and entrees which include the seared duck, ribeye, and the surf and turf. The steaks are cooked to perfection. Medium rare has a pink/salmon center. The ribeye is very soft and simply delicious. The 6 oz filet mignon is soft as cotton which is insane. From the main entrees to the sides, everything leaves a unique impression. Even the mashed potato is different and won't be available elsewhere. Everything seems to have a trademark characteristic of the Vast. Of the starter, the roasted bone marrow is the most unique. The marrow is very fatty/oily. One would order something like this only for a new experience. You could go with the 3 safer traditional options. Service is great. Our server goes over the menu with us and the features on the month which changes every so often. Our server is very attentive and often check on us to make sure all needs are being addressed. Words cannot describe how impressed I am with the Vast. It is really a must try restaurant for everybody. My 1st trip to Vast last night! Wow, was I blown away! It was so cool to have dinner "in the clouds" as our waitress said when she greeted us. The ambiance was perfect, the time you're given to decide each course was perfect! Then the food arrived & the experience grew even more! We started with the Chef's Bread it was Amazing! For our main courses my wife got the Filet Mignon & I went with the Surf and Turf it was all fabulous, & the Chef's steak sauce was SO GOOD!! To finish our meal we had some Chocolate Lava Cake & boy oh boy did we enjoy it! We will definitely be coming back to enjoy Vast again for another special occasion! read more

I've lived in OKC for a year now, and had not heard about the lunch buffet at Vast until the Bricktown water taxi guide informed me! There's an opportunity for far more advertising to locals given the relatively great price at $25.50 for adults for a lunch buffet. Overall the 4th of July themed meal hit the spot when it came to sides and desserts. Unfortunately the most anticipated protein - flank steak- was overdone and dry on multiple cooks. That said, it was not even missed given the vast abundance of other options, including an out of this world, well-seasoned fried chicken. Combined with the view, the quality of food and price feel worth it. Highly recommend both for locals as an affordable special occasion meal and tourists alike. read more

Been here several times during lunch and once on thanksgiving. I always make reservations ahead and sometimes I'm a few mins late (5-10) and they always accommodate. I visited Oklahoma City recently and saw this place on TikTok, wanted to try it out. I came around an hour before closing for a cocktail. Pros: -beautiful restaurant -scenery/view -drink was strong! Cons: -service was okay at best -slow (it was an hour until closing - not busy) -lack of attention to detail when it came to cleanliness (crumbs were left in chairs) -bartender honestly failed to make recommendations. It seemed like he didn't care or enjoy the options on the menu. Overall, I did expect more given the fact they advertise themselves as upscale dining. No joke the worst culinary experience of my life. Of course the view is great, but the food is awful. We had the seared shrimp and fried octopus as appetizers, and could hardly choke it down. My friend took me to lunch for my birthday during the week in January and we enjoyed a variety of food starting from soups and salads, cheese, fruit, and crackers, different freshly cut meats & sauces, veggies, salmon, and sides. The food options were pretty generic, but I like it that way to fit to anyone's tastes. They did have a curry chicken with jasmine rice, which added a nice touch of ethnic flavor, but overall, the food was mostly American. The buffet also had different types of desserts from pastries, brownie, creme brulee, chocolate mousse, and cheesecake. The view was nice, the server was not very friendly nor terribly helpful with an overcooked $78 steak. Sent it back and she seemed offended but the temp was not arguable when looking at other steaks at the table that were also ordered MR and ours was cooked through with a thin line of very light pink. Also had a side of foie gras and after sending back the steak, the foie gras returned completely cooked through and the steak had only a few tiny bites of meat, much less than the original overcooked steak had. I felt I was being punished for returning the steak and got half the amount I should have had. They offered dessert for the trouble-but a dessert doesn't make up for the meal I wanted. The drinks were tasty but steeply priced. There are too many other delicious steakhouses in OKC to return to Vast again. Go for the view-leave before dinner. read more

A friend had been recommending Vast to me for a while for their lunch buffet. I finally made some reservations for my anniversary lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The atmosphere and the views cannot be beat. I enjoyed going in the daytime so I could see for miles in every direction. I have previously been here at night for a Yelp event, and the nighttime views were great as well. I understand that they have a theme to the lunch buffet each week, and when we dined here, it was a American comfort food theme. Included were salad bar, soup, several entrees, a few sides and a few desserts. I would rate the food itself 4 stars, some items were really good, and some were good, but not necessarily special. I would like to go again and try a different themed lunch, especially while enjoying the fabulous view. Come for the views and leave because of the food? Yes, the views are cool but the restaurant faces south so don't come expecting skyline views. The lunch buffet left a LOT to be desired. It started with our waiter saying, normally our chefs kind of have a theme for each week but this week it's just food. Ummm, great? Out of the meat options, only the roast beef was edible. The garlic Parmesan salmon was so dry it was almost impossible to swallow (all three portions that were tried resulted in the same overcooked dry fish). The smoked balsamic pork tenderloin and herbed grilled chicken breast were all dry too. The sides were lackluster. Spicy Cajun coleslaw (someone tell me how this even "goes" with any of the meat options) was soggy and over spiced with Tony's. Mixed vegetables were something you would get at Golden Corral. Mustard & herb potatoes were decent but boring. The only saving grace in this entire lunch were the dessert options but that does not equate to paying $27.50/person (plus your drinks because those aren't included in the buffet price!!). Service was also lacking. This is a fine dining experience supposedly so I shouldn't have to flag our waiter down to ask for refills of the over priced tea...but I did. It's also pretty obvious my toddler is under the age of three but he still tried charging me full child's price for her (I had to ask him to remove the charge). I definitely wouldn't recommend Vast to anyone unless they're coming for the views. read more

If you want to experience Vast but feel like it is out of the budget, take advantage of the M-F lunch buffet. You can pull up the menu to see the variety of goodness they are serving for the week. The buffet has a great variety. I'm very picky and don't like a lot of anything and was able to find items that I like. You don't have to dress up but we enjoyed dressing, business casual and enjoying the atmosphere. My daughter loves dressing up and going to fancy restaurants. She talked her friends into going. The food is good and like I said, a great variety. The buffet is $25 which includes everything, and plenty to choose from. read more

In celebration of our 2nd Anniversary, we decided to dine at Vast. I should start this by stating my boyfriend wakes up for work at 4am. So timing of our meals are crucial. When arriving, we were able to quickly valet park and were greeted at the entrance by a great hostess. We took the elevator to the 49th floor of the Devon Towers to arrive at the restaurant. When we arrived, we were told they were preparing our table. It took about 20 minutes for us to be seated even with reservations. We did not mind that much. Once we were seated, it took about 15 minutes before we even got menus. It took another 10 minutes for water to arrive. Our waitress was amazingly sweet throughout this, but service was very slow and due to this, we did not want to order drinks or dessert. We simply did not have enough time to wait. We both ordered the 14 ounce Ribeye dinner. The ribeye flavor and their red sauce was good, but mine was on the rare side even though I asked for medium well. Our waitress noticed this and asked if I wanted her to send it back. Due to the wait, I opted to just take it home and complete the cooking for dinner the next night. I wish the dish would come with broccolini because the asparagus has no taste or flavor. I ordered a blood orange margarita for my drink and my baby got a midtown mule. We both enjoyed them! The best parts of the visit was the Vast potato and drinks. I don't think I'd run back again for dinner, but could see myself visiting the bar for night drinks and the amazing view. read more

The entire staff from the valet to check-in to the wait staff were so professional and courteous. Our waiter, Jake, was just amazing and made our visit so enjoyable. And, the food was extraordinary. I wasn't impressed with the beef tartare and my husband wasn't impressed with their soup of the day. Their entrees were amazing!! I loved the lamb chops. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and loved the red wine sauce on top. The surf and turf was also really good. The scallop was a bit over salted and seasoned. The shrimp was cooked good and their steak was cooked perfectly to a medium rare. Their vast potato was so much fun to eat! I love the crunchy wrap. An establishment where the expectations are as high as the restaurant and all of them are met! The food was absolutely delicious and came out very promptly. Our server was so sweet and attentive, as well as the other wait staff that assisted us throughout our dinner. Their vast potatoes are the coolest way I have ever seen potatoes prepared (mashed then fried in a dumpling wrapper). The bread they serve on the side is some of the best bread I have ever had and I was tempted to ask for more togo.
