The food was very good, that's what we said at first. The ambience was okay... needless to say "Empty", there was nobody there. The manager was friendly but on the forgetful side beside the cook, it was a one-man show. He forgot to bring us water... twice. We asked for no onion, and cook obviously didn't read the full order and the owner had him take the onions off before sending the burger out... however there was still an onion on the plate. Looking for a place to eat before hitting the State Fair, we found Vechos and I am really glad we did. Upon entering, we were greeted and sat immediately. It was a Tuesday so he informed us it was $2 tacos and they also offered quesobirria tacos as well (those were $15 for 3 and not included in the taco Tuesday deal tho). The menu had pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads and breakfast offerings. We ordered the French dip, Sacramento kings burger, pulled pork sliders and a chicken and Carnitas taco. Food was served pretty quickly and we all really enjoyed everything we got. French dip had nice thinly sliced meat, the side of horseradish allowed me to add the right amount of heat too. The garlic fries were loaded with garlic, which I loved. The Sacramento Kings burger was huge, my husband could barely finish it. Service was also amazing. Our server who we later found out was the owner was great. He checked on us multiple times, he chit chatted and joked with us the whole time we were there, it made for a really personable experience. Do not sleep on this fairly new eatery in Arden Arcade! It may be small but it's mighty (tasty)! Vechos took over the former neighborhood bbq joint and feeding its customers burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, salads, wings, and a whole lot more. It's a hidden (in plain site) gem! Since it was our first visit, I can only speak about the pizza and wings. BUT we are definitely excited to come back and try more of the menu. It was that good! We got the combo and only had to sub 1 topping (bacon for salami), the rest of the toppings were everything we would've put on a customized pie. Ingredients were fresh. Crust was simple and had perfect texture and thickness. More on the crispy and thin side. We ate half and boxed the rest. We grubbed on the large order of chicken wings that came out first. Half buffalo that had a nice kick and half lemon pepper sauce that was unlike any lemon pepper wings I've ever had. They were so good. Finger-licking good! Chicken was crispy on the outside and moist inside, and amply covered with the sauces. The place is small with limited seating but there is also a dog-friendly patio. Two tvs in dining room playing whatever games were on. Clean space and during our visit on MLK day, they still had their Christmas decorations up, which I didn't mind. We were out running errands and I wanted to try somewhere new so I used Google and found this place. Apparently they've only been in business for three months. I don't think the three people working there could've been any nicer and the food was excellent. Physically the place needs a little sprucing up but that will come with time. We ordered the French Onion Melt, the Prime Rib Dip, garlic fries, and the onion rings. Everything was seriously delicious and far exceeded our expectations. We loved finding this place after following The Taste Duo on Instagram. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. It's a very clean, cozy, small place but the food is yummy and the portions are perfect for sharing. We also tried the Cesar chicken sandwich and Marguerite pizza. The Sacramento King Burger was the best of the two burgers in my opinion, but I did also enjoy the BBQ Bacon Burger. The tater tots were also really good! One was the spicy jalapeño burger, and the other one was the onion Swiss melt. The fries were outstanding as well But what I really want to talk about are the jalapeño poppers. You get four giant poppers in the order. When I took my first bite, I just stopped and close my eyes and just savored the flavors that I was experiencing. It was really an amazing experience. They have done something really unique with the poppers. The breading is very light, they are served on a bed of sautéed jalapeños, red onion, and mushrooms, and drizzled with an amazing sauce that just added to the experience. I will definitely return to try more items on the menu, but I will always order those poppers! Kudos to those who created these items! read more

Really liked this little place. It's very small but still surprisingly comfortable. We sat on the patio and even with Fulton being right outside the barrier it wasn't too noisy. The servers here were so nice and attentive, absolutely no complaints here. My husband got the Philly Cheese steak and I got Calamari. His cheese steak was delicious, he says it's probably one of the better ones he's had. The ranch was house made and yummy. My calamari was lemony and crunchy and so good. It was served with cocktail sauce and a thousand island type of dressing. They were good but I think a tartar sauce or something else would have complimented it more. And while there was a good amount of squid, I had 6 slices of lemon that were deepfried amongst the calamari. All in all I would t mind coming here again. read more

Like many others, was familiar with the location as it was a BBQ restaurant for years. Thought we'd give it a try and are so happy we did. The menu had a nice selection from burgers, tacos and salads to breakfast. Excellent customer service, friendly and courteous. The food tasted so fresh and was served nice and hot. Huge Bacon Burger with battered onion rings and a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito. Both large enough to take home half. It is on the small size seating wise but there is additional covered patio seating. Here for a three-day training and saw this place in yelp. I don't know the area at all and was a little apprehensive about even going out to eat. I haven't even tried the food yet, and this place is so great! The guy behind the bar is personable and super helpful, the atmosphere is surprisingly bright and welcoming, and the place SMELLS amazing! I ordered the French onion burger, tots, and a side salad. Stopped in to try the newly opened Vechos on a Tuesday night. For our entrees, we ordered the meatball sandwich, which is served with fresh baked pizza dough - it was such a unique and delicious twist on a classic. We also tried the wedge salad. Fresh crisp lettuce was topped with tomatoes, bacon and blue cheese dressing. The grilled onions set it off! I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, who was super friendly and shared her vision for the restaurant. She is clearly passionate about the food and creating a welcoming dining space. Overall, I was very impressed by Vechos on our first visit. The food was delicious, generous portions, and the owner was super hospitable. I would highly recommend stopping in to try it out. We've been by this place numerous times and decided to stop by last week. Since we can't eat that much (believe me, we wish we could eat a lot, but that's another post) so we ordered the Vecho salad and a garlic bread loaf to share. The salad had all kinds of pizza toppings and dressed beautifully with Italian dressing. The garlic loaf was a small round loaf of crusty French bread with cheese and garlic and butter sitting in a pool of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The two of these complement each other and were meant to be eaten together. We couldn't wait, so we came back two days later. We had a prime rib dip with real horseradish, French fries and au jus. The sandwich was served on a French roll with a pile of meat and cheese. I prefer my prime rib on the rare side. This was definitely well done, but it tasted great! The only mediocre item were the French fries. They weren't crispy... In fact they were soggy. I'll probably ask them to substitute something else next time I order this sandwich. They also have a good variety of other sandwiches and burgers. I am going to try a burger next visit. read more

Even though the place is small you can have a seat and the waitress will serve you. I ordered the French Onion Burger, came with mushrooms, swiss and served on a grilled croissant...DELISH! A side is included for under $20 and the choices are great, garlic fries, tots, mac n cheese, plus a few more. My friend got 3 chicken tacos for $12 and said they were really good. We noticed a steak sandwich next to us that looked awesome and the guy said he's been there about 10x and gets that every time. Someone else had a piña colada that looked tasty as well. Very disappointing. The meat in the "Prime Rib" Dip Sandwich was shredded beef which didn't taste like any prime rib I have ever eaten. The fries were soggy. My order was taken immediately. But, although it was weekday lunch time and there only were two other customers on the premises, it took over 20 minutes to get my food, while the employees socialized with each other. And all this for a premium price. I will not be returning and do not recommend. Poor service, poorly prepared food. read more

Fri nocs are crazy...small place very busy...excellent food. The wedge salad is very different and huge...too huge for 2 people. 3 styles of onions so wouldn't order it again.
