I interviewed several moving companies for a move from a second home in San Diego to our home in the mountains. I was impressed with the estimator from Vector Moving so we decided to hire them. Originally the plan was to pack everything on Friday and move on Saturday. Then three days before the scheduled move I find out a snow storm is predicted for our mountain town with 4 to 8 inches of snow forecast. This might not be an issue in Lake Tahoe or somewhere that gets a lot of snow, but sadly our little town is usually last on the list to get plowed -- especially the street we live on. I called Vector and they sent five guys on Friday morning -- they packed, had everything loaded by noon and were unpacking their truck by mid-afternoon. We were able to get completely moved before the storm hit. And yes, we did get 4 inches of snow on Saturday and it's still snowing now (Sunday). We were so grateful for the wonderful packers and movers: Vugar, Nikolay, James, Bastion and Yegor. They were fast, friendly, strong, and very professional. I had called a handful of companies to obtain quotes for an office move 3 weeks prior and Vector was reasonably priced and had good reviews so thought I'd give them a try. I am so glad I did! My initial call with Eddie was quick and painlessly straightforward and after a move date was set, was followed with a confirmation. Eddie also promptly responded to all the additional questions I had via email pertaining to the move and was prepared to provide what was needed. On the morning of the move I received a call 30 minutes prior and the team of 5 (I called them 5 Guys : Vugar, Mikolay, Ruben, Kaola & Dayv) was prompt, prepared and ready to start upon arrival. Moving is stressful as it is and takes good communication, coordination and teamwork for things to go smooth. From what gets packed up and moved first to the placement of items on the truck. They were very well prepared and made everything seem effortless. The guys were careful to disassemble items, pad, wrap, tape up furniture and maneuver everything from the 3rd floor office, through a hall, down the elevators, out the building through a large open space to the curbside for loading. Even with a couple of additional stops the guys were all very professional, courteous, efficient and diligent. I was impressed and would highly recommend and give them two thumbs up . Wow! What an incredibly lengthy response to blame ME for one of his staff members taking my piece of jewelry! I honestly don't even know where to begin to try and respond to your rude and accusatory answer and will absolutely spread the word to friends, family and colleagues to never to use this company! My partner signed all the papers and arranged for the move. I was there briefly during moving day then flew to New York for a week the next day. Upon my return, I did not open that part of the jewelry box where the gold pendant was until two weeks later which is why I didn't notice until later that it was missing. One of your guys wrapped the box in plastic only AFTER removing my jewelry. I'm in the hospitality business and we would never accuse our guests of lying like you have done! Tommy and Chris were amazing. They moved us from a 4 story townhouse in San Francisco to the high desert in Southern California. We had a few logistics changes on our end and the were very flexible and accommodating. Extremely friendly and took great care our furniture and personal items, especially fragile glass and dishware. If you have tight spaces they have the experience and knowhow to work around corners without damaging walls or fixtures. We have moved quite a bit and have had good and we have had bad, real bad. This move with Vector had me wishing we knew about them years ago. The crew was as professional as we have ever encountered. This morning sent an entirely different moving company day of move, Eddie told me they "owned" the other company (Cube), Cube knew nothing about it. Then Eddie admitted that they had lied. We are moving cross country with a POD being shipping this afternoon and put in a horrible situation. Breakdown: Movers were fine, courteous, took 8 hrs instead of the 3-4 hr estimate, broke a few glasses and a table. Not too out of the ordinary and no complaints. There was a miscommunication with someone (who I was told no longer works with the company) and they reimbursed us for the cost of the table with a check. Unfortunately, the check bounced and we were charged a fee from our bank. Having to spend more time resolving this issue (while in the midst of unpacking and setting up) after the move was a pain. I do greatly appreciate that, even though their policy is ordinarily to reimburse about $24 or the weight of the table, Andrey worked with us to quickly cover the cost of the bounced check as well as the out of date policy by their former employee. It shows a great commitment to customer service and resolve in fixing a mistake between them and their bank. read more

We had to move earlier than expected, tenants were coming in and escrow was late. We called vector kind of last minute and they were able to fit us into their schedule. Day of the move came and Lanard and Tyree arrived early and ready to go. We had some expensive furniture and some very heavy furniture and they took great care in wrapping and moving our belongings into their truck. They were quick and efficient. Everything was going into a garage and they got our entire house to fit with what looked like no effort. On top of all of that vector moving didn't break the bank, they were very reasonably priced compared to some of their competitors. SAVE YOURSELF HEARTACHE AND LOSS - STAY AWAY FROM VECTOR MOVING. They damaged my belongings and the movers did not show up to unload the truck. The long distance driver who assisted with packing my belongings ended up unloading until late in the evening. He did not have anything to put down to protect the carpet and did not finish assembling everything. To top it off a clothing box worth thousands of dollars "went missing" and the company did not take responsibility. The company is full of excuses and the owner was argumentative instead of making things right. Many false promises. These guys were on time dressed professionally, were friendly and omg so fast. A whole 3 bdm house of 1350 sq feet single story no packing - done in about 4 hrs. Folks! Please - if you can- pack your own snall items ahead of time don't make them waste time fiddling through your desk and file drawers. You can do that yourself. Everything was wrapped and loaded and driven then repacked into a 180 sq ft storage unit. Back to front. With room to spare! Amazing. First time I've ever hired professional movers cost me about 700 bucks but less than they had quoted. But it was worth every penny. I am amending my original 5 star review to 1 star after realizing that part of my belongings went missing. On 02/22, Adrian and Alex moved my furniture and boxes from my condo into their truck which was then driven to the ABF service center where they then loaded a moving cube with my belongings. Initially I was so ecstatic that they managed to fit everything into one cube (I had 2 reserved). During this process they told me I could wait in the car while they loaded everything. I then locked the cube after loading was completed. On 03/02, I received my stuff in Colorado and promptly got everything out. I then realized that one box had gone missing. The box labeled "movies & games". I called that day and spoke to Arthur who confirmed that nothing was left in the truck. So what happened to the box that just so happened to have the most expensive stuff in it? I'm not going to go on an accusatory rant about what happened. But in retrospect, I should have labeled that box "used tampons" and been more watchful of my stuff as it was being loaded. Luckily nothing of true sentimental value was lost but I highly caution using this company. Definitely some tough lessons learned here. read more

These guys are awesome! I had to move a 3 bedroom house on my own with my 2 year old since my husband was out of town and these guys took care of everything. Nikolai, Renat, Anton and Serg showed up early, got right to work. They took apart crib, beds, everything and put it all back together at my new house. They carefully wrapped all glass and furniture. They moved me out in 4 hours, stored my stuff for 3 nights on the truck and then moved me back in late afternoon which I changed at the last minute and they accommodated! I love that I had the same crew both times because the guys were so sweet. Nicest guys! They didn't mind my 2 year old getting in their way the whole time, they smiled at her and just kept moving. We selected Vector movers based on the yelp reviews. Overall, we had a bad experience. We were overcharged, $600 for one bedroom apartment with a bed, sofa+Chair, book shelf, a dresser and about 60 boxes. It took more than 6 hours for two guys (Mark and Omar) to load and unload with a 25 mile driving distance and with several breaks. Often, Mark was taking one item at a time as a time killing tactic. It started with two hours estimate and kept increasing the hours. The entire move was unprofessional and careless. Several items were not protected with pads and blankets during the move. When we insisted to be careful, one of the guys replied "we are professionals and done this before". Ironically, the so called professionals broke and scratched many things, did not wear shoe covers and brought the dolly in to every room in the brand new home, and more. When we complained about the broken things and the over charge, at first the company started to argue. The moving guys started to lie to cover their tracks with the company. Our basic insurance with them did not cover most of the loss. After some back-and-forth emails, with dismay we settled for a refund of around $240 with Andrey who was a bit reasonable. It did not cover the cost of replacement of broken/lost things and emotional value. Even though they returned some of the overcharged money, our experience was terrible. We do not recommend them due to the overcharge, dishonesty, lies, and lack of coverage of breakage/loss, but if you decide to use them we suggest to video record their every move for evidence. read more

After researching a few other quotes from movers, I luckily came across Vector Moving and Storage on Yelp. I had a very positive experience. Nate and his crew were very professional, friendly, and hardworking. My fiancé and I did most of the packing days prior but my building has long hallways and an elevator so it did take a while to load the truck but once we got to our townhome, everything went by so fast. They were also familiar with my downtown building and my HOA third party moving coordinators which helped. I would definitely recommend them ! read more

I was very pleased with our experience. The foreman was very polite and thorough. We had 3 guys that worked hard all day. They wrapped our furniture very nicely so it was protected during the move. Everytime we tried to do something the movers were very quick to take on the burden and do it for us. If I asked a question it was "yes ma'am" or "no ma'am." The move took a couplw hours longer than I expected but it had nothing to do with the speed of their work. They did an amazing job and I am so pleased! read more

I didn't like their customer service. They worked slow. I had some small concrete blocks, one of the guy was carrying one at a time, and I know they aren't heavy because I carry two in each hand. He literally was carrying just one with two hands. When I called him out, he answered me back rudely saying: " I carry as much as I can". I called his manager to complain but that didn't change anything. The only thing I got was that they credit me for the 15 minutes over charge. Will never hire them again. read more

I am updating my review to four stars due to Vector's customer service going above and beyond the call of duty customer service-wise to amend the issues found in my original review. These days we kind of just accept that most businesses have shitty customer service, it's become the "gold standard" ironically and it is what it is. We're used to having to navigate an infuriating automated labyrinth of options just to speak to a human being on the other end that will listen to our issues. So when a business actually shows that they give a damn by personally emailing you, apologizing for the issues and offering solutions, you get taken aback. I was taken aback and as I worked things out via email with the owner and customer service, I realized that even businesses (just like people in our lives, and ourselves) have those "off days." That's why you can read reviews of a business like Vector and see so many great reviews then find one like my original in the fray. Regardless, I want my update to reflect my sheer gratitude of their great customer service because it's fair, and it shows they give a damn by fixing the issues I had. We bought the Yelp deal and hired Vector for a move in February. Their prices were competitive, the movers were cordial, the truck arrived ahead of schedule, and there were no hidden fees or charges. Unfortunately, these movers were extremely S-L-O-W, there was some furniture they didn't put back together correctly and/or lost hardware for, and they left pretty significant tire marks on our neighbors driveway. Not the best first impression of us for our new neighbors... Eventually we politely told the gentlemen we'll just finish reassembling our furniture ourselves and asked that conclude their services. During the purchase process of our home, my wife and I really liked our humble abode, but the one concern we had was the very narrow stairway from downstairs to our upstairs bedrooms. To be honest with you, my wife was really concerned about how our bedroom furniture was going to be placed in their rightful places. Ignorantly, but always with confidence, I thought my brothers and I could get our furniture upstairs. Thank God for having a wife who knows better, so I checked Yelp for moving companies and found the highest rated one: Vector Moving. Most of Vector Moving's reviews are five stars, but you're probably wondering why did I give them a four star rating. I'll get to that soon. Vector Moving really does deserve their five star rating. We had to be moved out of our apartment by Saturday April 4th and I called Vector the Monday before. I initially scheduled for moving service on Friday, but then had to change the date because we needed another day to move out of our apartment. Vector accomodated my request without hesitation. One of the cool and money saving things about Vector is that they are customer friendly. If you book online, you save 5%, and that's not all. On Vector Moving's Yelp site, you can buy a voucher to save $45 for a measly $20. I'm all about saving money, especially when it comes to something as costly as moving. Vector Moving is a customer service oriented business. Vector's movers showed up during the designated start time of 8am and 9am. I was paying for 2 moving personnel and an 18 foot truck. When the foreman Ezequiel, Carlos, and Herman showed up, I was told by Easy (his nickname) that I was being charged for two movers, but had three to be quicker and more efficient. I was more than happy when he told me that because my apartment is on the 2nd floor and our house has that challenging stairwell. Vector's employees were professional and respectful throughout the entire moving process calling me "Sir" and tending to any needs we had. Hearing that both Easy and Carlos served our country as U.S. Marines, being a former Army officer, I really appreciated Vector having professional and courteous employees, who also happen to be veterans. Thanks for your service gentleman. These three gentleman really do care about your prized possessions and making sure the customer is taken care of. Not once while they were working did I think they were milking the time to charge me more. Considering the 5 years of stuff we accumulated in our apartment, the 2nd floor stairs of our apartment, and the impossible, very narrow stairwell of our home, I am astounded at how these three moved everything to our home. These three guys really earned their money moving my family. Disassembled furniture was assembled, furniture was placed where it needed to be, and they were very careful not to damage our possessions or our house. So, why the four star rating? When I think of five star ratings, I think about walk on water, perfection status. Vector Moving and especially Ezequiel, Carlos, and Herman are deserving of their glowing and positive reviews, but despite all their positives, our newly painted wall on the stairway was scratched only three times while moving our many large items up that almost impenetrable stairway. I can't give a perfect rating if there were some imperfections, but I can give a strong, very positive recommendation for Vector Moving and our awesome movers. You would be amazed at how these guys navigated that stairwell. I am one pleased and happy customer. I am not fond of moving. I actually hate it, but if we ever move again, Vector Moving will be my first call and I will request Ezequiel, Carlos, and Herman. We had a great experience with Lanard, Lanard Jr., and German yesterday! They were extremely polite, friendly, and hard-working. They are efficient and professional when wrapping, packing, and carrying our furniture. My brother has had many experiences with movers and he even mentioned how these guys were doing everything the best way. We were more than satisfied and would definitely recommend and use their service again. I owed Max and Alex a great review for their great job in helping me moving two days ago. They were great in terms of efficiency and professional attitudes. And they took good care of my glass dinner table - it was wrapped up delicately and did not suffer any disastrous consequences. There were unwelcomed difficulties in the process though. The elevator of my new apt was not big enough so they needed carry iout my bed over the stairs - which was quite hard work. And the corridor to the bedroom was too narrow...unfortunately, they told me they had to reassemble the bed. I thought it would take a lot of time. But amazingly Max did it within only half an hour. And they cleaned every piece of wrapped papers and other rubbish when they left. The final time count was 3 hrs and 25 minutes - mutiplies the rate of $95 per hour. Which was not as expensive as I expected. (You spent almost as much when asking someone from IKEA to assemble the bed for you.) It was hard work and I felt very grateful for their help. I would recommend it for anyone living in La Jolla and need a short-distance moving. read more
