At that point we waited 15-20 minutes for our table to get ready and we finally sat down, however they kept mentioning my boyfriend's birthday as if to try and negate the fact they didn't have our table ready. Our waitress took forever to even take our order and when she did they kept coming every 5 minutes to ask us if we needed anything so we couldn't even have a conversation. FINALLY!!! An authentic Italian restaurant in Dallas. After moving here from Boston, my fiancé and I have been on the hunt to find a place to get our Italian fix. Right in the heart of Lower Greenville, this new hot spot has checked ALL our boxes (and we're already obsessed). First off, it goes without saying, but the food is incredible. I mean... just look at the photos. And while you're at it, please take a second to admire the aesthetic and ambiance. I believe all the decor in this restaurant are pieces the owner, Leigh, has collected over the years, and every photo displayed is of her loved ones. She's created such an intimate, warm, cozy, romantic, chic atmosphere, that you forget you're in Dallas, TX and think you're in the heart of a little Italian town. I also need to give a nod to the super kind staff. They make you feel so welcomed. They want to take care of you and it's obvious they're there with the priority of providing stellar 11/10 service. We dined at the bar for about 1-2 hours and left feeling like we had made friends with everyone behind the bar. The owner has clearly put her heart and soul into this establishment and it shows. Her journey to live in Italy to master the art of Italian cooking first-hand adds a richness to the dining experience that's rare. I loved to see how friendly, caring, and involved she was with her guests in making sure everyone was having such a pleasant experience. I can't say it enough; the vibes at Via Triozzi are unmatched. Overall, amazing new addition to lower Greenville! The space is stunning and the location couldn't be better for us living so close. I have now been twice. All of the dishes were outstanding, however the lasagna on my second visit was more dry. I love the flavor of the meat sauce but it felt more meatball- ish and needed more cheese or more sauce to keep it from drying out when they put it in the oven to reheat prior to serving. Eggplant Parmesan is so yummy and flavorful. The bread was excellent. Also tried the ricotta Montana which was fantastic. Drinks and dessert on point! My only complaint was my server. I had the same table both times with the same server. First time we came, we weren't greeted at all but simply was asked "have you had enough time to look through the menu?" It was awkward, but he got the job done. The second time I was with just girls and had similar awkward, almost judging vibes. He wasn't terrible, but having had really amazing service experiences at other nice restaurants such as Mister Charles, I expected more. Def go try it out. We ordered all the pastas. All pastas were fresh and great in texture. Bolognese had the best flavor. Cacio de pepe was unimpressive in flavor though. Lasagna was decent. We also got the Bistecca, MP was $165. Flavor was great, but was uneven in temperature. We requested medium rare and got half rare and half medium rare. The colors of this space are beautiful and well planned. Seating is close to neighboring tables, which reminded me of Europe. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbles for our anniversary. Food is fresh and not too complicated so you can't taste all the ingredients. Overall, a really beautiful restaurant with great service. Reservations are pretty hard to get. They have free valet, which makes parking really easy. I liked the coccoli, and especially liked the cheese that it came with. Personally wasn't a big fan of the ragu or lasagna. I thought the ragu was a bit bland though the fresh noodles were nice. I dined on the "Capoelletti Dalla Casa" which came in a garlic fennel broth which was light and delicious. My husband had the "Tagliatelle Al Ragù" and he said it was REALLY good. The prices are reflective of the quality, and service was impressive. Even waitstaff not assigned to us checked in to see if we were needing anything. The owner herself came by to ensure everything was to our liking. The ONLY downside would be its location on the very busy lower Greenville Avenue. Parking spaces are hard to find on a Friday night, so this might be a good place to splurge on a ride-share service or use their Valet Parking. We enjoyed such a delicious dinner last night. We shared four things and were both stuffed at the end of it: + Coccoli - a tasty, interactive appetizer: you get three popping hot fried dough balls (think zeppole meets hushpuppy) which you split open, then you take spoonfuls of the strachini cheese from the bowl to slather onto the coccoli half, then you drape thin, ethereal slices of prosciutto on top, and eat. The bite is decadent and satisfying in ways I'll never be able to fully describe. + Arugula & Braesola - very simple, but perfectly dressed salad with thin slices of air-dried beef. It was the perfect accompaniment to the rich coccoli. + Lasagna - really delicious. I wish it had more sauce, but the flavors and textures were absolutely perfect. One of the best lasagnas I've had in some time + Tiramisu - really beautiful, is on the cakier side than cream, but really delicious way to end the meal We overheard the waiter telling another guest that they will be preparing the upstairs for more casual fare - charcuterie boards and pizzas. Loved the whipped ricotta (just wish it came with less zucchini and more of the ricotta, also was expecting the zucchini to be warm but it's served cold), the meatballs were delicious. For entrees we got the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (didn't love), Linguine alle Vongole (this was good), Tagliatelle al Ragù (top 2 favs) and lasagne Al forbo (top 2 fav). Sadly this was such a miss for me. I had been dying to try this place and everything on the menu sounded amazing. The inside is SO cute and there's a lot of hype around this place. The appetizers were the best of the whole meal. We got the meatballs, arancini and the ricotta montata, They were good enough to get us excited for the next courses. I got the cacio Pepe and I kinda thought it was overcooked and forgettable. I did try the ravioli and it had a very nice light flavor and a hint of sweetness. I went here with one of my friends and she said the owner spent over a decade doing culinary study in Italy and it definitely shows! Dinner Amazing dishes! There are labels on the menu in Italian so we had to get a server to help translate. We shared the cheese and pepper spaghetti (thick noodles, rich cheese sauce) salad with beef (the lettuce tastes like it was infused with grilled lemon in the best way, paired perfectly with the spaghetti) and focaccia bread (so soft and light with a little bit of a crispy crust, I wanted to eat the entire pan) It was all so good, the servers weren't lying when they said they couldn't pick a favorite dish. Part of me wishes the portions were larger, but it was nice how I didn't feel overly stuffed and had plenty of room to enjoy dessert. Dessert The dessert needs its own category! I ordered a dish with rich cream and fruit and my friend ordered the tiramisu. We shared and my gosh - the cream and fruit had my mouth feel like it was floating on a cloud (I'm sure the glass of wine I was finishing up was helping too) it tasted like it was infused with lemon and I have no idea how they did that. It was not too sweet, light and refreshing. The tiramisu - my friend is a tiramisu critic and gets it wherever she goes and she said it's the best she's ever had. It's not soggy, it has rich notes of coffee - just amazing. They also have a coffee menu so this would be a great place to drop in for a dessert and a coffee. Ambiance The restaurant is shockingly beautiful, I let out a mini "whoa" when I walked in. The high ceilings are absolutely gorgeous and there is so much attention to detail with overall design and decor, it felt classy and homey all at the same time. The waiting staff and owner were all so welcoming and happy to help answer any questions. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for - it's worth every penny and a great place to go when you want to get dressed up and have some high quality food. There were no empty seats, everyone was talking, but amazingly no one was shouting. FOOD: Magnificent, and so glad we didn't rely on the nattering nabobs of negativity in Yelp (could be they think good Italian is found in the frozen food section at Kroger?). Our food was savory, rich, and, again, made us feel like we were back in Italy. Try the Arancini appetizer. If you want seafood, order the Linguine alle Vongole. Lasagna? Order the Lasagne Al Forno which was definitely a one-of-a-kind delicacy. If you're in the mood for an authentic homemade dish, then order Nani Angie's Chicken Cacciatore. Who's Nani Angie? The owner's Sicilian grandmother. Yes, it's her recipe and my fav of the three dishes we ordered. SERVICE: Our wait person had a million dollar smile and made us feel like we were the only table she had to take care of. I'm also throwing in here the owner, her father, and her brother visited our table to make sure we were welcome and everything to our liking. Amazing. Smiles all around.
