We were seated at a round table for 10 people, which made it easy to talk and connect since everyone was facing each other. The interior was clean and elegant, and there was live music. At first, I thought it was a playlist because it blended so seamlessly into the ambiance, but it turned out there was a live musician performing near the bar. It was a pleasant surprise and added a classy touch to the evening. I ordered the New York strip, cooked medium rare, and it was flavorful, juicy, and tender. It paired perfectly with the sides we shared as a table: mashed potatoes, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, and mac and cheese. I'd give the steak a solid 9.4/10 and the sides a strong 9.0/10. The restroom were also very clean, with lots of mirrors and high-quality hand towels. A small detail, but it added to the overall upscale vibe. There were a few things that detracted from the experience. The lighting inside was extremely dim, so much so that I had to use my phone flashlight just to read the menu. When I accidentally dropped my phone, my friend had to shine her light to help me find it. The restroom was also a bit too dark, almost like a scene from a mystery movie. The dozen oysters we ordered as an appetizer were underwhelming. They were extremely small and not at all what we expected. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Taylor, was amazing and very kind and attentive. So on to the food! They serve complimentary bread. I chose this steakhouse over other options to spend our anniversary dinner and I'm glad I did. This place is hands down top 3 steakhouses I've ever been to. Everything was cooked to perfection for my fiancée and I. From the starter salad, to the filet mignon , to creamed spinach and Mac & Cheese sides, and the red velvet cheesecake to top it off. It all tasted absolutely delicious. Not sure I've ever seen my fiancée more captivated by her meal than at Vic & Anthony's. Food aside, the restaurant is very elegant with even live music at times. We visited Vic & Anthony's for HRW with a girlfriend at 7pm Wednesday. Pro tip- after 6pm, the street parking meters around the corner are free. Otherwise, you can valet. It was crowded when we arrived from a post-astros game rush. The service was great and it was really beautiful inside- we did notice it was quite warm in the restaurant. I ordered the Caesar salad, filet and banana foster bread pudding. All was delicious! My steak had a wood flavor finish and was cooked perfectly. I also got to try my friend's lobster bisque- it wasn't my favorite ever but still good! The banana pudding was very tasty and the ice cream was a great companion. My absolute favorite on the tower was the Tuna Poke. Amazing! I could eat a whole bowl of it as my meal. The Roasted Bacon is also delicious. One appetizer I wouldn't get again that was just alright was the A5 Wagyu Carpaccio. The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection as well and rather large. On my recent trip to Houston, we decided to give Vic & Anthony's steakhouse a try as it is known as one of the top steakhouses in the city. We went with the 12 oz filet mignon topped with blue cheese butter and they were perfectly cooked. I was also extremely impressed with the potatoes au gratin, which were incredibly cheesy and tasted great with a bacon add on. The only element of the meal that I would not get again was the A5 Old Fashioned as it was strong, but not necessarily as delicious as it could have been -- I think it may need a little more simple syrup to balance the alcohol. If you visit, keep in mind that the restaurant is located very close to the Astros stadium so I would say to plan ahead as far as parking is concerned. The entrance is also located in a back alley off to the side of the building, so make sure to keep an eye out as you're walking to find it. read more

They never go too far for too long. Our server made sure we had everything we needed. I had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection. The hostess received us at the front by the elevator and stairs after we had trusted the car to the valet (it's in the middle of the city so park in is scarce). We were taken to our dimly lit table and were served warm bread and spreadable butter. My party and I didn't feel too crowded despite our large size. The tables were fairly places far from each other and we were able to have our own conversation without others overhearing. The menus are one page; drinks and dessert menu are separate. My family started off with oysters, bone marrow, and roasted bacon, both of which were great. The bacon was cut thickly and was very sweet with its syrup. The bone marrow was also delicious and had its We got asparagus and Brussels sprouts as accompaniments. My favorite were the brussels sprouts as they were extremely flavorful and also has bacon pieces that tasted like the bacon starters. To end the night, we got the chocolate sphere (can't remember the name) which had cream and a frozen banana dessert in the middle. It was mildly sweet and perfect to end the night! My first review of the year goes to Vic & Anthony's. This was my first time here as I was a guest at my friend's wedding. They have a ballroom upstairs where you can host events which I found to be pretty unique. You can valet your car or find street parking but be mindful of the time of day because street parking is only free after 6PM. Because it was a wedding we had a three course fixed menu along with some light bites during cocktail hour. I ordered the lobster bisque soup, the steakhouse salad and an 8oz filet mignon. I enjoyed the lobster bisque. I enjoyed the salad although the tomatoes were cut in such HUGE portions. The dressing was phenomenal though. Now the filet mignon....I'm sorry but I was not impressed. I got mine medium (which is funny because I didn't tell them how I wanted it cooked but luckily they did it medium which is how I like my steaks). It lacked flavor to me. I had to add more salt too or just to semi enjoy it but even then it didn't help much. We had family style sides which consisted of broccolini, masked potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Over all they were just okay and again I needed to add more salt to it as it wasn't seasoned enough to my liking. I did order a Long Island iced tea at rhe and which I really enjoyed and the dessert was wedding cake so I doubt that came from the restaurant itself. I wonder if I came for regular dinner as opposed to a big wedding party if the food would've been prepared different. Probably not because it came from the same kitchen but perhaps they "rushed" it since it was a big party, I don't know but it was kind of disappointing for a high end restaurant. I will say the staff and the servers had excellent customer service so I greatly appreciated that! They denied us entrance because we were in dress shorts and collared shirts. There is NOTHING on the website stated this. We had an incredibly disappointing experience at Vic & Anthony's. We made a reservation for 7:15 on Tuesday night, arrived on time, and checked in, only to be completely ignored as the minutes ticked by. By 7:50--35 minutes past our reservation--we still hadn't been seated, nor had anyone offered an update, apology, or even the courtesy of acknowledging the delay. We had arranged for a babysitter and driven an hour in traffic for what was supposed to be a special night out. With a hard deadline to be home by 9:30, we simply couldn't afford to waste more time waiting, so we left and took our business elsewhere. It's unacceptable for a high-end restaurant to take reservations if they can't honor them or at the very least communicate delays. This was such a disappointment read more

I always come to Vic & Anthony's, and this place is truly one of the best (its my personal favorite. However I AM a hard judge so this isn't a 100% biased review.) I always sit at the chefs counter, which is the best seat in the house to me because you can see the flow of the kitchen between the chefs/cooks. They all work as a team, which is so satisfying to observe. I've had pretty much the entire menu, excluding the tomahawk and a few other entrees, but I can guarantee all plates from appetizers, salads, entrees, and dessert are a HIT! The quality of their food is top tier, the bone in ribeye is a MUST, their macaroni, creamed spinach, broccoli, mushrooms...hell, even the lemonade is a hit! For desserts, I always get the bread pudding because its my favorite (and everyone elses I think), but the creme brulee is great, so is the red velvet cake....everything is good!
