Was here on business and looking for a good pho restaurant. This place did not disappoint. We ordered the crispy wontons and Sumer Rolls for an appetizer. They were delicious. We are Vietnamese so we were excited and curious about this new place. We were pleasantly surprised after we ate there and then ordered carry-out to try other dishes. Everything we were great, authentic/high quality and good portion size, so even if it's a bit pricier than Eden Center, the quantity/quality and the location (saving time and gas to go to Seven Corner) makes up for it. . We have many more dishes to try but the Spicy Seafood Pho and the grill rice combo are awesome. We were there off-peak so it wasn't bad but might not be super fast for lunch break (to be fair, i should give it a try before commenting on it :-). We will definitely come back, love the food, I am a fan. So glad that a good restaurant took over this location. Hope they will be here for a long time. read more

This place is one of my favorites for viet food around the area. The little something special about this place comes in at the taste buds, they offer a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes that rarely will ever leave anyone in disappointment. It's a little ma and pa place and it tastes like it. The prices are a tad steep but if you realize the cost of operating in Vienna you can easily see why you don't see any of these small places anymore in this town. My favorite dish here is drunken noodles, nobody has drunken noodles with such a wonderful gently sweet sauce that gives the warm tingle of chili in the back of your tongue. You can ask for dishes spicier and they are only to happy to make it that way for you (yes they'll happily make you sweat.) I recommend the dinner portions as I feel the lunch portions are sometimes a tad small. Other dishes that are great there: Claypot fish, Claypot black pepper pork, shaky beef, fried snapper when available, pork chop on broken rice, and of course the eggplant tilapia. The only thing I won't eat there is the pho based soups, while its not bad it's just that style of pho that's super clean and gently sweet with herbs, which sticks with their fresh theme but hurts inside to all of us hangover pho addicts. (Not as bad as four sisters pho though! Four sisters pho is awful.) All and all, I spent lots of time in Annandale with viet places all around, yet I come here 90% of the time. read more

Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, and the pho is superb! We get both tofu/veggie and brisket and both are to die for. We come twice a week and are treated like family. Appetizers are amazing, including all versions of summer rolls and the salt and pepper tofu is the best we've had. Can't recommend Viet Aroma enough!! read more

Food and service is on point, but you're overcharging for a bowl of pho. Maybe since it's near Tysons, it's more expensive. Other than that, the restaurant is clean and the waitress/owner is extremely nice. read more

The vegetarian pho is probably the best I've ever had, which is a pretty big statement coming from someone who is picky about Vietnamese food. The broth was flavorful, the veggies were fresh, and the tofu was crisp. The warm Thai tea with boba was also on point and is worth a try. read more

Mostly just an average meal. For the app, I got the shrimp toast which was good. For the entree, I ordered the lemongrass chicken clay pot, since they were already out of their quail special. The chicken was either underdone or rubbery which was a little of a turn off for me. Also the entree as a whole had very little texture besides the chicken (note to chef: maybe add some broccoli to soak up the juices, or even some bamboo shoots...be a little creative please!) However, I see some potential for this place if it can get its act together. read more

I wanted to love this place because it is more convenient for me and it serves my favorite all time vietnamese entree which is make your own rolls! It was really expensive, but I thought the servings might be big and maybe the food was so delicious it would be worth it. Plus, the convenience of location and parking would make up for it. Sadly, this was not the case. I did have my favorite dish, but it was only ok, and the portion size was small. My husband also thought this, but said that the spring roll was actually really good. The soda I ordered was flat and carmely. Yuck. We sent it back, but our choices were coke and sprite. The place also smelled a little funny. My husband was worried about a gas leak, but I told him that I recall people writing in yelp that it smelled like pho. The bathroom was interesting also. The mechanical hand dryer is seriously right in front of the toilet. It turned on as I approached it. A little startling and uncomfortable. In the end, I am glad we came to give this a try. read more

We inadvertently discovered this gem of a neighborhood restaurant several weeks ago and are now regulars. The friendly attentive service by the wait staff is awesome. It's consistent great food, and willingness to adapt to food allergies and palette aesthetics makes this a place we want to come back to time and again. Plus, the intimate setting with great jazz where we can actually hear one another without having to strain our voices or our listening skills makes it a perfect respite from the rigors of work. Not impressed with either the food or the service. First, they wouldn't honor my groupon, saying you had to call first. Really, who does that with groupon. So I got my groupon money back for this. Second, the food was just not that good: soggy rice noodles, cardboard-tasting spring roles, overcooked vegetables. Next time I'll go back to Four Sisters where they really know how to prepare Vietnamese and treat customers right. read more

Frankly speaking the food is nice which could be offered a 4-star, though the amount is not large considering the relatively high price.However, I'm not satisfied with the service. I bought a groupon with 'dine-in only' notice. I called it at noon, and they told me it's only valid for dinner, but I could go there for lunch since they value their customers.I'm not a native speaker, so I though 'dine-in only' means 'dinner only' at the beginning. We enjoyed the food and we got the bill and found that the price was calculated based on dinner's price rather than lunch's price. I can still acept that, but when google the 'dine-in only', it just means 'eat in the restaurant'. I just felt I'm cheated. They should let customer know more clearly. I don't have to pay the dinner price for a lunch! So disappointed and would never be back. read more

The food at Viet Aroma is very good, the owner is very inviting, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is family friendly, and my children love the pho tai nam soup. I can feed my family of 4 for $30 including tip with two $8 bowls of pho and an order of summer rolls (best deal in town for good food). For a special treat, we can spend more and get some great grilled meat/seafood with lettuce and rice wraps. This is my family's favorite restaurant and we are really happy to live nearby. We have also taken pho to go...great option for a quick, healthy, inexpensive meal at home. read more

I found the food tasty, but the food was so OVER PRICED. $9 for a bowl of pho? Most dinner entrees were almost $20, and the portions were very small. The porkchop platter had a very thin piece of pork and the other things on the plate were also very meagerly plated. They served this with over cooked rice, not the broken rice. The caramel fish was tasty. The stainless steel chop sticks were unuseable. They were so slippery that I couldn't pick up anything. I wouldn't come back. Went here for the first time on a Friday for an early lunch with a friend - first impression was that Viet Aroma was quiet, cozy and clean. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive and friendly throughout our stay. We started off with the grilled pork summer rolls (2 to an order) - they were tasty and decent-sized rolls that left enough room for our entrees. I could've used more pork in the rolls, but the restaurant didn't skimp by any means (it might've just been my stomach talking, since I had skipped breakfast). I ordered the Pho Viet Aroma, which was delicious and a good-sized portion of noodles and broth, though again, I could've stood to have a bit more meat. I especially appreciate that they don't use MSG, though. My friend ordered the Fantastic Four (a variety of grilled meats, veggies, and herbs for making spring rolls), which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our server also took the time to explain how to make the wraps. We both also had the iced coffee (which came in large glasses) - not overly sweet and perfect for our meal on a hot day. We happen to pass by this restaurant one day on our way to Cafe Renaissance (Excellent french restaurant) in vienna - it's right next door and both are sort of hidden - but truly a hidden gem. There are no vietnamese restaurants that match this quality anywhere around vienna or tysons area. The food was amazing - yes, make your own spring roll was a great touch. Service was good! restaurant setting was excellent - casual and comfortable. I had the beef with honey/wine marinade on screwers - yummy!!! My friend had four grilled meats. It was really tasty, light (but it can be heavy if you wanted to be - added rice wrap and vermicelli noodle patties), delicate - just really good food all around. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes and appetizers. The food is plentiful. Average price on the menu is 12.95 to 15.95 - any price you have to pay for a dinner but in this case, it's worth every penny. It's one of my new favorite! This place has way more unique items on the menu compare to vietnamese restaurants around this area! I also love pho thuong long for pho. That was our old spot - I will still go back there but that place, atmosphere is alot better at Viet Aroma! What a good find!!! read more
