I'm so disappointed by the way this establishment handled us and our food. My friend and I both ordered off the vegetarian menu. He found meat in his dish and when we brought it to their attention their response was "our kitchen doesn't have a separate vegan station, so sometimes that happens." They didn't offer to comp it or replace it or anything at all. They just wrote it off as "too bad for you". I said "I guess I'll just take it to yelp?" She said "yea-sry" ! Then I asked for my pho to go and the lady used chopsticks and her fingers to put it into the container. -gross. I'll never eat there again. Poor management skills. read more

I met a friend for a quick lunch. We arrived around 11:45 on a Monday and were seated promptly. We were offered drinks and were given menus. The menu is extensive so unless you have a taste for a specific thing, it takes awhile to review the menu. We decided quickly so we could chat. My friend had the lemongrass chicken and I had the jasmine rice chicken and shrimp. Her dish was served at least 5 to 7 minutes before mine. Hers was perfectly cooked, mine was over cooked. I was craving a good bowl of Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef broth noodle soup) and it's rare that I find a good bowl. This place makes it really good and the food is authentic. The only thing I wish they made better would be the spring roll dip, I usually like a good peanut sauce for the spring roll dip and they had a dipping sauce more on the sweet side, but it was still very yummy. Best Vietnamese food in town! We go once every two weeks at least. Prices are great. The chicken rolls are to die for! I've had the well-done steak pho countless times. The staff is so friendly and even laugh when I get my dinner because it's always the exact same dish!!! I have a peanut allergy so that can make ordering Vietnamese food rather difficult. This place was great because they were conscious and considerate of my allergy, which isn't always they case with other establishments. They offered a different sauce when a dish traditionally came with a peanut one. This was my first time at this establishment, but from what I understand they just did renovations and the space is beautiful. My only critique is that the windows are dark so it's easy to mistake got closed so double check to make sure it's open. Also, the Thai coffee has a superb jolt to it. read more

My wife and I are regulars here and enjoy the food. We had a bad experience with them serving us uncooked pork wontons in our soup. I had to drive all the way back to get new soup, but when I arrived there they only gave me new wontons, which was not a good replacement for possibly contaminated soup that they gave me prior. They started making me a new wonton soup but after 20 minutes of waiting for it to come out, I asked for a refund they gave me flack about it. I would not recommend this restaurant for families with young kids because they are very busy and forget about good service. We waited 10 minutes to get seated and then they totally forgot about us. No menu, no water, and proceeded to serve other 2 tables who were seated after us, despite trying to flag down a waiter. The last straw was watching a couple who came in after we were seated get their appetizers while we were waiting for menues. I've had their food before. One of my favorite restaurants. In a plain little strip mall, looks from the outside are deceiving, you enter into a beautifully decorated gem. I have never had something I didn't like. The service is good and the food is amazing. What is even better is the price! Worst restaurant experience ever. Never go there. Waiter is so rude. My wife went inside first, not busy hour. Waiters just moving empty tables. For 10 minutes, nobody asked my wife what she would like to drink. Then I arrived, sat there, had eye to eye contact with one waiter for 4 times. Took hubby for a bowl of pho. I tried No. 85, mixed vegies in sweet and sour broth. It wasn't quite what I expected, it was more sweet than sour. I've never tried anything like anywhere else so, I'm not sure if that's the norm. I was expecting something more like a Thai soup I guess. Other than that, it was a fantastic assortment of vegies and tofu. I might try it again if they could make it a bit less sweet. Hubby enjoyed his pho. We were seated by a hostess toward the back of the restaurant as a table of nine. Five adults, two children, and two toddlers. Immediately felt out of place. The hostess sat three other tables around us. No children at these tables. The tables around us that were sat after us had a server take their drink orders. Went here for pho which wasn't bad, but wasn't super great. What really knocks the stars off was the customer service. Our waitress took our order, took a hefty amount of time to get our drinks out, and then once our food came out, we couldn't get her to even look at us. We finally got ahold of another server, who told us we don't get refills, and then finally we got to pay and leave after having to ask another server to split our check. Hopped off the 40 West on our way back to Cali and honestly had high expectations based on the reviews. The food was low quality and honestly pretty bland compared to what I'm used to but the food wasn't really the reason for the low review, it was the attitude and atmosphere of the place. The only reason it doesn't get a 1 star is because there was a sweet old lady, but that's about all this place has going for it. Anyway, we were a party of 6, and the menu stated that a 15% tip would be automatically added to the bill, we were okay with that--that's standard. However when we left a worker was upset that we didn't leave more tip money aside from what was already involuntary added, and declared it out loud for everyone to hear. If humiliating customers is what this restaurant is about don't eat here, there seemed to be tastier Vietnamese restaurants a couple minutes away. Beware if you are a vegetarian. We go to LIME all the time and We love it so we came here because LIME was closed. I ordered vermicelli patties and vegetables (simple right) not for them waitress came back after 7 minutes and said they can't make my veggies (WHAT). I thought she was joking I even said you have done this before and her exact response is we probably have but they won't do it now. Needless to say we left and will never be back. They did not care. LIME is I believe related somehow to Viet Taste and if that is true Lime needs to teach Viet taste how to accommodate guests. In a city with an abundance of good Vietnamese restaurants, I cannot imagine how Vietnam Taste stays in business, let alone stays popular. I have never had such inattentive service at a Vietnamese restaurant. Both my order and my companion's were messed up (I asked for no sprouts and got a bowl full of them, and they forgot to bring my companion's soup, even after bringing the garnish for it), but our server never checked up on us at any point. I would have liked to ask for a glass of water, and a refill of my sofa, but no one paid us any attention. The food was okay, but not exceptional. My meatball soup broth was bland and lacked the depth of a good Vietnamese broth. Don't waste your time on this restaurant when there are so many better alternatives in Albuquerque. read more

We are definitely regulars here. Whenever we get a hankering for Vietnamese, this is our go-to spot. The service is always fast and friendly. Steaming bowls of Pho and noodle bowls with crisp-tender veggies and perfectly seasoned meats are always our choices. We usually get the grilled meatballs for an appetizer, which are more like delicious little grilled slices of pork with an amazing slightly sweet dipping sauce served over a sweet-tart slaw. Spring rolls are okay. We've ordered them twice and haven't ordered them again. This trip was a Pho, a beef and egg roll noodle bowl, grilled meatballs and rice and beef--yes we come here very hungry. Yes, we always leave here full and happy. This is our favorite Vietnamese place by far. Their vegetable broth for the rice noodle soup (#86 on the menu) warms my soul. It is my most favorite dish, although I've never had anything bad here.
