Village Pizzeria is located on Orange Ave in Coronado and has been at this location for about 20 years. This pizza place is super casual, has indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating was too hot and no a/c, and the outdoor seating was beneath big shady trees. It was crowded with lots of tourists especially for FIFA. It was fun seeing these excited tourists having a great time enjoying the Coronado sights and foods. The menu had different kinds of pizza and my friend and I got a few slices: couple of veggie, mushroom sausage and all cheese. You order pay, take a number and sit anywhere, the nice and friendly staff will bring your food out to you. These thin pizza slices were not the best but good and my friend like the mushroom sausage and cheese. Village Pizzeria is a new must-stop when you're in Coronado, especially if you're visiting with a big group. We enjoyed the El Diablo Knots, the Greek Salad, chicken tenders, and the Giant 28-Inch Pizza. Everything hit the mark. Everything tasted amazing. Even the Giant pizza was full of flavor and high quality ingredients. The thing that made our first visit most memorable was the staff. I stopped in around 5:20pm and had a slice of sausage and mushroom and an Orange Wit beer. Both items came to $9, which is a sweet deal here in SD. You take a number and wait for your food. I snagged a table right outside on the sidewalk and had a prime people watching spot, sweet! A young woman brought me my slice and then noticed I also didnt have my beer and fetched it for me. Was lucky enough to attend a dress rehearsal showing of Arms and the Man at The Lambs Players theater, so we decided to try out Village Pizzeria for some pre-show dinner. It was a Tuesday night and I was pleasantly surprised to know they had happy hour pricing on their slices, drinks, and some apps. Tried the Sicilian pizza and Napoli. Now when they say slice, they really mean two slices, as they were so big! Also tried their Parmesan wings and hot wings. The wings were giant and flavored perfectly with crispy skin. The service was great, the food delicious, and the patio seating made for such a perfect and relaxing evening. This spot is in a great location, just a short walk from the Coronado Hotel and beach. They've got really good happy hour prices, which makes it a nice option for families. The indoor seating has that classic old brick pizza house feel, and the outdoor area on the side offers some shade which was nice. Quaint pizza joint in the heart of Coronado. It's just walking distance to the famous Hotel Del and has a lot of great business nearby to visit and explore. I love that you can order pizzas by the slice or order them the way they usually are served. You can order at the counter or order after you seat yourself at the table by using the QR code and ordering on your phone. We preferred doing it this way because it can get quite busy so I recommend snatching up a table first before placing an order. They have another bigger location at Ferry Landing on the north end of Coronado (with a beautiful view of the SD skyline). You can never go wrong with either! Places is packed, but there's not a lot of alternatives. We got the Pound town pizza which was burnt on the outside and cold in the middle. It had enough pepperoni on it to allow us to open our own pizzeria and not run out all night. The garlic knots were burnt and they weren't able to refund us and make new ones because they were out. Listen this was a place I had been dreaming about since the last time I went to San Diego. It's the best little pizza place on the beach! We walked there from Coronado beach at our hotel and it was just so good. Very fresh and hot, our pizza was gigantic and I wish the lady would have offered maybe a better deal to us with our little kids, but we had a ton of leftover so it was okay. I ordered a pizza to go and ended up eating it at the restaurant. It's a nice and casual place to dine in. Once we received the pizza, I definitely noticed it had way too much green peppers and less meat on it but, nonetheless it was delicious. Service was okay considering they were extremely busy but there needs to be more of an effort to notify guest when their orders are ready. I'm pretty sure my pizza was waiting there a while based solely on how hot the pizza was and it was just warm. Maybe a PA system should be considered. read more

Finally when I excused myself and asked for help and the employee said she would be right back. She was right back alright, and just walked on by totally forgetting me. I got another person's attention and was able to get water. Tables needed wiping down. Probably won't be back due to poor service. As a customer I felt like a total inconvenience to the employees. I'm not a bougie pizza person, but I can definitely tell how good a pizza is based on the quality common freshness of their bread. And I was not disappointed!
