The service was very friendly, location is great--but the food was extremely disappointing. I hate leaving a negative review and rarely do but I wish I had known what the food would have been like before we went. I got the tomato and basil spaghettini with chicken added. It completely lacked any flavor. I needed to add salt which is rare to do at a restaurant as things usually come over salted. The chicken was poorly seasoned and weirdly cut, the skin of the chicken was served face side down, and extremely soggy with strange cuts in it (I'm assuming the cuts in the chicken were to make it cook faster). Everything felt very plain and basic. My mom got the spinach chicken and it was the same type of chicken I got, but with melted cheese on it over a bed of raw spinach that had zero flavor as well. There was not a single hint of garlic in anything. The sliced bread that came with each plate was basically like sandwich bread and not even toasted or warm. I really wanted to love this place but I'm honestly a little surprised at the other positive reviews--maybe we came on an off day? But one look at the photos of the food would have told me all I needed to know. read more

The food was very disappointing. As soon as I saw the chicken, I knew we chose the wrong restaurant even before taking a bite. -Cannelloni-was the best meal but nothing special to note. The sauce was flavorful and well seasoned. -Jumbo scallops-Sauce was bland and broken. Husband described the scallops as "Not horrible even though they look rubbery and bland." -Vendura pasta-was very salty and tasted strong of garlic but was also surprisingly bland. Added chicken and it was very dry. Seemed to be cooked from frozen in too much liquid making it dry and unappetizing. All 3 meals were served with a cold dry slice of bread. We were heading to Chipotle but walked past Island Pasta and thought it would be more fun. We should have gone to chipotle. It would have tasted better and we would have saved $ read more

We were greeted and served by three young and very friendly servers who were fabulous. Don't always see that these days. Had a Caesar salad which was very good and a meatball sub which was pretty good. There was a side of pasta noodles and tomatoes which I thought was spectacular! My wife and I wanted to get a bite to eat before attending a performance, and we both had a yen for pizza and beer. Island Pasta to the rescue ! We ordered a 12" pizza loaded with mozzarella, red and green peppers, black olives and onions. Hooboy, it was delicious, and very satisfying for two hungry people. The beer was served with ice cold glasses, an important feature some restaurants forget. Although the place was pretty busy, the service was friendly and timely. All in all, a great experience. Decided to stop in for lunch when kiddos were craving pizza and pasta. I try to stay low carb so was super excited to see they have something called a Pizza Bowl, which is really a pizza just without the bread (I know! I know! That could be the best part but my waistline may not agree). The Pizza Bowl comes with sauce, cheese, and your choice of 5 additions. I ordered mine with Portobello, spinach, artichoke hearts, and pepperoni. It arrived hot and definitely satisfied that pizza craving. Daughter and hubs shared the Sundried tomato pizza. Although my daughter liked it, she thought the feta was just a tad too strong tasting and thought adding basil might have made it even better. The lobster ravioli was the only dish that tasted good. The pizza tasted like junior high school cafeteria pizza. The ravioli was bland. The lasagna tasted equivalent to your run of the mill grocery store freezer section lasagna. The garlic bread was more like buttered baguette toast. The pastas came with a slice of I think wheat bread, I'm not sure if it was plain wheat but it wasn't good either way. I've never encountered anywhere that gave you a slice of un-toasted plain bread with your pasta. I do not recommend this place in the slightest. In fact the person who decided we should go here is barred for a week from any further restaurant suggestions. Awful service. We were waiting at our table for about ten minutes and a server never showed up. There were only a few other tables occupied, including the one right next to us. A server was tending to them and even noticed us and gave us a dirty look. The restaurant is cute and adorable with a great little patio for outdoor seating. The openness of the restaurant was wonderful the breeze was so refreshing. It really was a beautiful day to enjoy with the breeze. The service was fantastic, the ladies who seated and helped us were so friendly, welcoming and attentive not to mention patient especially with so many tempting options on the menu it was hard to make up our minds. Very dissatisfied with my palette at this place, if you are a foodie i would not recommend! I am a big fan of pasta and pizza but sad to say Olive Garden would have been more pleasing. Such outstanding prices for the quality. I really hate to tarnish on the homemade pasta but something should definitely be adjusted to the recipe! The pasta was just very doughy with no richness. For the Ambiance and style i expected so much more and to be sitting still in the restaurant having the time waiting for service to express my true thoughts would speak volumes to me as a business owner. After a nice cool down by the beach we stumble across this little restaurant for lunch. It's a nice little Italian food base restaurant that is comparable to Olive Garden. The atmosphere is a very chill beach life vibe and there is no AC! But! The ice tea made the intensity of the heat melt away. The food quality is average, but their service is awesome. They are friendly, warm and VERY accommodating. Our cheesy garlic bread came out late and they gave us half off the price. Phenomenal! Furthermore, after our tab was paid we needed a little more time to figure out where to head to next and they did not pressure us in any sort of way to leave. We were very grateful for the hospitality since we were new to the area. The noise level can get loud and the place is clean. No WiFi. The service was good for the most part. Our first waitress was attentive and got orders correct. At some point our waitress got switched. The 2nd one brought out a cold side of Alfredo when I asked for a side for my nieces pasta. Food was not good at all, we all had stomach aches afterwards. All the pasta seemed DRENCHED in oil. No flavor whatsoever on any dish. I had the salmon, it was supposed to have a "spicy pesto" which was just bland. Only gluten free item was noodles, I tried those and they were too, drenched in oil. A very small place located right on Orange Avenue. 3 tables outside and 4 tables inside! I thought they do a great job turning around tables though. We went on weekday so it wasn't too busy but there was still a small wait. The food was a bit pricey, but excellent in taste. The garlic bread appetizer was really great- I recommend getting that before your meal. I got the canneloni which was tube shaped pasta with meat and cheeses inside. If you order it, there is marinara sauce on top, but I was feeling a bit adventurous and got the creamy pesto sauce. I do not regret my decision. It was very rich, but it wasn't TOO much. I didn't stuff myself with this meal, but it satisfied me. They also give you a piece of bread with your pasta. We will be back to this place when we visit Coronado next. read more
