My parents took me here for a birthday dinner. Such a hidden little gem...unless you're a DB resident I assume. We got there before 6pm and my first two dinner entrees I wanted were already sold out. It must have been pretty busy before we arrived. A little bit of a let down. We ordered two I REALLY DONT CARE (Angie's beef bites, mashed potatoes, deep fried Brussels sprouts) and HOT POCKET HOOCHIE pizza. All the food was really good. Not one bite was left from anything ordered!!! We inquired about how often the menu changes and we told once to twice a month. Can't wait to come back and try new things!

Words can't express the delicious food and superb service you receive at Chef Robert's restaurant. I always bring my family there to enjoy a great dinner and build memories. Every experience is better and better because im a foodie and always request dishes off the menu. Chef Robert delivers and then some. Jennah and her drinks... outstanding. If you haven't tried this restaurant, you are missing on a great experience and delicious, once in a life time great food. This is my favorite restaurant.

The food is always delicious, customer service is superb and the chef is super friendly! This is such a cute spot in Disco Bay!

Unfortunately, there are few places worth dining at in Discovery Bay. Sadly, Vin Alegro is no exception. We had the Prime Rib dinner. The prime rib was mostly fat and was in desperate need of seasoning. The vegetables tasted frozen, as well. Wasn't impressed with the slow service or the nonchalant attitude of the server. I had the house wine (Hannah Nicole, I think) and it tasted old, as if it was opened days earlier. There was actually sediment on the bottom of the glass. It was quiet with few patrons, which is nice if you're looking for a restaurant like that. We definitely won't be back.

After missing 2 calls from him, he decided to text me. "No call no show" I didn't realize this was a job and I was your employee.

I never made it to the restaurant, and now never will due to the very rude staff. Whoever runs customer service here needs to let go of the guy handling reservations. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I've attached screen shots of our texts. Yes... he took the time to text me and harass me.

I have to say the raviolis were VERY tasty. Topped with brisket in a delicious sauce. The prime rib was okay. Small pieces of bones were in as if it wasn't scraped off properly. Over all decent. Asked for au jus (twice) and never got it. The horseradish sauce did seem like it had horse radish in it which threw me off. Told the waitress we were there for my daughter's birthday dinner. (Hint hint wink wink) And nothing came out after we ate so we just went out for boba afterwards. Might be back for their Sunday classes. Overall food was good, service was lacking a bit.

Seriously the best food I've ever eaten. Service is amazing. Highly recommend. And the chef is pretty awesome too.

amazing drink the manhattan and cute menu!

Have they expanded to include indoor seating or is it still outdoor seating only? We went in the past and sadly had to sit at a picnic like table outdoors in a tent with heat lamps. Very disappointing. After 1 glass of wine, we decided to leave.

If this in regards to Vin Alegro, We have always had indoor seating. We have never owned or served on picnic tables! There isn’t even a tent! think you may be referring to somewhere else?

    Still doing the salmon Wellington?

Can you please post a menu somewhere?

There's a picture of one here now (albeit from 8 months ago).

Are you open for breakfast any days?

Do u still do beef Wellington?

    Yes they do.

Love that their menu is constantly changing as they outsource all their ingredients from local vendors in the area. So it's nice they offer different selections each time. Although, I would love to have their ribeye entree available all the time. This time around, we order the Stracciatella Cheese for starters and my husband ordered the fresh catch of the day which was scallops over risotto and I ordered the hanger steak. I also ordered the Margarita Fuego cocktail and that was so refreshing. I personally loved the stracciatella cheese. It had sugar snap peas, strawberries, basil, pickled ginger, balsamic, evoo with toasted bread. You think the ingredients would be weird together but it really blended well and tasted so good. As for my Hanger Steak, everything tasted delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely come back.

Unfortunately, the bar and the kitchen just didn't deliver. My Gin & Tonic was a hazard; it was so completely overloaded with peppercorns that I felt like I was chewing my drink and had to spit them out after every sip. For food, the corn elote lacked balance, and the scallops--which arrived swimming in a soup instead of a puree--tasted noticeably off. The chicken parm was entirely forgettable. With these kinds of texture and flavor issues, there's just no attention to detail in the kitchen. Even with great service, we won't be returning.

Most importantly, if they can't remember every detail of an order by trying to memorize it, have them write it down!! Period. This is a skill not everyone possesses. We will definitely be back as the food was pretty good. But I hate spending $120 for dinner in basically a sports bar, get mediocre Service and they expect a 20% tip. The server was nice but certainly tried to upsell everything. I don't mind that so much. I think where it fell flat was we ordered the filet mignon. Mine was the overcooked by almost two degrees (ordered medium rare and there was zero pink in site). My husband and I ended up switching plates. I had already ordered a second cocktail which did not come until dessert. The server apologize this was overlooked. As someone who has been in the industry, I did not complain. I took my drink and it was nice enough. I found most of the meals lacked seasoning. The herb potato's were okay. The best part was the blueberry cheesecake. That was divine. I was holding off on writing a review until I had the chance to go a few times since the new head…read morechef came in and revamped the menu. Now that I have had two dinners, on March 5th and 27th, and a recent brunch, June 6, here is what I can conclude: The Food: Everything I have tried on the menu so far has been pretty flipping delicious beautifully, but not pretentiously, presented looking and tasting like a truly from scratch kitchen (which did not seem to be the case with the previous chef/menu). Standout mains included a beef stroganoff special, the fish and chips and possibly the best shrimp and grits (might be only a weekend brunch item?) I have ever had (to the point that I am likely to go back and have it again in the next week or two) Standout apps were the raw oysters (especially the in house pickled watermelon mignonette), the pulled pork sliders, brussel sprouts and recently a new buffalo style baby back ribs with shaved celery and blue cheese crumbles (it was so good my sister would not let us finish it so that she could take the last bite home to share with my brother in law and give him pointers) Standout desserts included the bread pudding and the cream brulee. The Drinks: Cocktails had a rougher start but were excellent in June. Back in March the cocktail menu seemed a bit confused. Several drinks I tried were incredibly unbalanced (and whether that was due to bad recipes or errors while executing said recipes who knows). I feel like they might not always have had an experienced bartender behind the bar, back in March, because one time it was something as simple as a gin & tonic that was accidentally made with plain soda because the syrup had run out and no one seemed to know how to help correct the issue. Whoever revamped the cocktail menu, please accept a huge THANK YOU! I will now be drinking my way through the menu over my next several visits. The standouts recently were the exceptional clarified milk punch cocktail called Sweet Disposition and the Strawberry Letter. The Service: Excellent. Everyone I have interacted with, especially the serving staff, have been attentive and took brief moments to make kind personal connections. One even gushed about how happy they have been seeing the changes implemented by this new incoming chef. The Venue: It has a relaxed golf course club room atmosphere with a main upstairs dining room and patio seating (weather permitting). There is also a downstairs area with an additional bar and space for live music (which seems to be a regular occurrence). I appreciated the separation which allowed for distinct vibes depending on your mood. My apologies that I have no picture to share (though the food and drinks were photo worthy) I was too busy enjoying myself.

Delta Dining with a Front-Row Seat to the Action. Some restaurants lean heavily on their kitchens…read more Others rely on their scenery. This Delta mainstay attempts, and often succeeds, to balance both. A short drive from the city delivers you to this laidback waterfront outpost, where the real show unfolds just beyond the patio: a steady procession of boaters launching, docking, and lingering over the day's boating stories all around you. It's an unpolished but undeniably charming backdrop, best enjoyed with a cold craft beer in hand and nowhere urgent to be. The menu casts a wide variety of burgers, seafood, barbecue, designed more for broad appeal than culinary ambition. Still, it largely delivers on its promise of satisfying comfort fare. Service, however, is where the restaurant consistently distinguishes itself. Staff members are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, a level of hospitality that feels increasingly uncommon and worth noting. On this visit, I returned to a familiar favorite: the cheeseburger, paired, at our server's suggestion, with tater tots. Around the table, fish and chips and pulled pork sliders completed the spread. The cheeseburger, Juicy and cooked with precision, it carries a distinct flame-grilled character that signals real attention to technique. The toppings are fresh, the bun properly toasted, and the overall construction strikes a satisfying balance between indulgent and controlled. It's a burger that delivers exactly what it promises, and does so consistently. Having previously paired it with excellent onion rings, it remains a dish I'd order without hesitation. The tater tots, however, were a notable misstep. A great tot should offer contrast, crisp exterior giving way to a light, airy interior. These lacked that essential textural payoff. Soft and underwhelming, they suggested oil past its prime and a lapse in execution. After sampling a few, I left the rest behind. It was a surprising inconsistency, particularly given stronger past experiences. Fortunately, the pulled pork sliders recalibrated the meal. Three well-proportioned sandwiches showcased tender, smoky pork layered onto soft buns with a restrained hand on the sauce. The balance was thoughtful, allowing the meat to remain the focal point. Each bite was cohesive and satisfying, making them one of the afternoon's clear highlights. The fish and chips were fresh and not over battered, well-flavored, but just a little heavy, that defines the dish at its best when lightly crispy, in my opinion. For this visit, I award 3 out of 5 stars. Not for lack of potential, the kitchen clearly has it, but for inconsistency. Strong dishes sit alongside underwhelming ones, and that variability prevents the restaurant from reaching its full potential. Having experienced better execution here before, particularly with fried items, it's evident that higher standards are within reach. Still, three stars should not deter a visit. This remains one of the Delta's most appealing gathering spots. The waterfront setting, approachable pricing, generous portions, and engaging atmosphere create an experience that extends beyond the plate. It's a place where time stretches, conversations deepen, and the rhythm of the water sets the pace. I'll return, for something new on the menu, the view, and with the hope that the kitchen rediscovers the consistency needed to match its undeniable strengths.
