I got the steak pho which was $10 plus tax. This seems to be the standard price around the Seattle area, which I consider being expensive compared to the Bay Area. They only seem to have to go containers, which means your food probably won't be as hot as it could be. I thought this was a pretty good bowl of pho, but it wasn't outstanding. I absolutely love Pho.. This place was in walking distance of my hotel and the reviews gave promise.. So I walked down in the rain and placed my order.. Great customer service, very friendly.. Finally branched out and tried their pork banh mi instead of their pho and I was not disappointed! I thought the amount of pork was generous and so were the pickled vegetables. My only complaint was the pickled vegetables are more like pickled carrots only as there's hardly any daikon. If it was a more even split of carrots and daikon I would definitely come here all the time as I am within walking distance of the restaurant. I have came here a couple of times and I love the pho soup here. I have tried Spring Roll Salmon, Pho Shrimp and Fried Rice Shrimp, Pho shrimp is my favourite. This is not your typical pho place. It's self service and you have to put away your own dishes when done. We ordered the brisket pho, steak and brisket pho and spicy fish sauce fried chicken wings. The beef broth was on point but it was missing the tripes, meatballs and tendon if your the adventures eater. The spicy fish sauce wings were not spicy at all and could've been better. The broth was so full of flavor, even the noodles carried the taste of the broth, instead of having just a bland noodle flavor. I am still amazed and my mouth is still watering. Well I scarfed it all before I could take a picture! A colleague kept recommending I try this so today we had a group order. I had the tofu vermicelli noodle bowl and a few is us split the tofu Bahn Mi sandwich. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The portions are generous I saved half of the bowl for dinner but ended up eating it in the afternoon because I couldn't stop thinking about it. The tofu Bahn Mi here will change your life. Be sure to get the large. My eyes widened and my mouth watered as I unwrapped the large thick sandwich from its smooth, brown paper. The crinkling of the paper as I unveiled this girthy local attraction, aroused feelings in me, I could hardly contain my pleasure. I moaned so hard the timid man next to me visibly shuttered, blushed, and looked in my direction just long enough to take in the sight of me wrapping my mouth around my new found source of excitement. My pores secreted sweat as the oils of a perfectly ripe jalapeño coated my eagerly awaiting tongue. Cilantro lulled me to my senses before I covered what was left of my delicious nine inch sandwich with Sriracha. I wanted more, bite after bite I squirmed on my stool in delight and ecstasy. It wouldn't last, soon I knew it would come to an end. I paused, gazing at the morsel in my hand. "I'm not ready" my whisper alarmed the timid man once again. With a deep sigh I opened my mouth, closed my eyes and took in the last bite. Savoring all the flavors, all the textures, all the sensations flooding over me. Coming from the Bay Area it's been challenging to find a really high quality pho place in the area. There are actually a number of Vietnamese places, but I've been to a couple others where ambiance was prettier but food was just average. I picked Vinason for my lunch spot this week and loved it. It is a no-frills grab and go restaurant with around12 bar-stool chairs inside and when the weather permits, they set up 3 or 4 tables outside to eat your lunch at. You order,pay, and then they call your order to get picked up. Honestly even though it's such a casual spot, the quality here is outstanding. The broth is fresh and doesn't taste like it's broken down from the meat bones as if it were sitting there for days on end. The meat is also softer and tastier. I also got the Shrimp Rolls, as others have mentioned, I did notice they were pricier than usual. A small order is 2 pieces for $5, a large order is 4 pieces for $9. I opted for the large- I will say the rolls actually turned out to be a lot larger than I anticipated so I ended up only consuming 2 out of the 4 and saved the rest for a snack later. Overall, really good, high quality Vietnamese food and I liked that everything here is just fresher and cleaner than traditional Viet joints. read more
