Walked in on a Friday around 12:30 wanting a pedicure for my daughter and myself while vacationing here in palms springs. It was pretty busy but was able to be seated right away! ADD FIRST STAR I Had gel on my toes and Kevin who was giving me a pedicure used the electric tool to scrape it off. I asked him if he could use acetone to remove it. I guess he didn't hear me initially because he did look up when i asked him if he could just use acetone instead of the tool. The second time I asked him, he just smiled and said "we use tool." REMOVE FIRST STAR They had the gel color that I wanted. ADD FIRST STAR BACK. The salon was clean enough. Floors clean and chairs in nice condition. ADD SECOND STAR Jenny did a nice job on my daughters toenails. She had a stubbed toenail and the lady who did her pedicure made sure to bed gentle with her - THANK YOU!! ADD THIRD STAR Kevin did a good job on my gel pedicure. Besides the gel, I opted for a basic pedicure and that is pretty much what I got. It wasn't bad at all yet at the same time there was nothing spectacular about it either. He gave a quick massage on my legs and quickly used the hot stone on them. He finished the pedicure with a warm towel. All in all a nice enough salon that was able to accommodate my daughter and I quickly before heading back to hang out at the pool at the resort! read more

I honestly never write reviews but definitely felt the need to express my disappointment with this nail spa. I recently moved into the area and it was around the corner from me so I called yesterday for an appointment. I was told I could come at 12:30 for a pedicure. I arrived on time, was put in a chair to soak while waiting. Obviously they were too busy to honor my appointment time, after 20 minutes of waiting I was told it would be another 10 minutes to which I complained, mentioning that I had a busy schedule therefore I'd booked the appointment at 12:30. Almost immediately they were then able to pull a technician who was working on another patron. I chose the $40 pedicure which includes callus removal and informed Michael that I had a bad ingrown. He worked a little on that toe and I thought he'd removed it but wondered why I didn't feel the pain usually associated with having that procedure done. The pedicure was quick and not very thorough. He started working on the bottoms of my feet immediately after applying the callus remover gel. It was not left on my feet for any length of time, also there was very little time spent on callus removal process. I'd also like to add that the temperature was warm in the salon, despite 95° outside, the door was wide open and multiple ceiling fans were running, I was uncomfortably warm. When I got home I noticed there was a smudge of polish on one of my toes as well as several of the cuticles. Also, toenails were not filed smooth, evenly. Despite the callus removal and sugar scrub my feet did not feel at all soft. AND, sure enough, I soon realized that the ingrown nail was still there in my big toe and painful! I just got through with the painful process of removing the ingrown nail which is what prompted me to write this. So including the tip, 50 bucks. Again, I don't write reviews but I won't be going back. Waste of time and money. read more

I go every two weeks and always have great service and the employees are all very sweet and personable. I always recommend them to friends. They are always patient with my "nail art" requests and make colour and design suggestions. I have gone to Vinny, Jenny, and Tina. All great technicians. It is clean and new in the spa. I was on vacation at La Quinta Resort and wanted to get my nails done. I was visiting from LA and get manicures bi-weekly, I used Yelp to find a place with good reviews but looks like Yelp failed me this time. I went to Vinny Nails about 2 weeks ago and now that I have taken my polish off see the consequences of going here. I called in to make an appointment for a regular manicure for the next day and that was easy to do. When I walked in I went over to look at the polish selection...very disappointing. There was a limited range of colors to choose from and all of the bottles were half empty and crusty. The following are the main reasons why I had a bad experience and would not recommend this place: - The man doing my nails used a drill to clean up my cuticles area and also smooth down my nail bed, I have never come across this at any other nail salon for a regular mani. It's great that he took a shortcut and was able to smooth down my nail bed but once my nails grew out it created a dent in my nails because the new growth grew in higher than the part of my nail that was drilled down. I also selected a red polish and the polish seeped into the dent so now my nails are now uneven and have red polish stuck in the dent. - From where I was seated, I only saw one license placed in plain view while there seemed to be about 3-4 nail techs working. - The polish I chose was CND vinylux which is supposed to last 2 weeks with proper application. Application for this specific polish does not require a base coat and requires the CND vinylux brand top coat which helps strengthen the polish to last longer. My polish application consisted of using a non-vinylux base coat and non-vinylux top coat which basically defeated the purpose of me selecting this polish due to it's ability to stay on longer than regular polish. To me, this shows that the tech was not up to speed with new nail products and most likely thought this was regular polish. These are the main reasons why I would not recommend this place and it also doesn't help that while I was waiting for the polish to dry the nail tech I had got into an argument with the customer after me. read more

I have been going to Jenny for about 8 years. She is amazing. She makes my acrylics over my natural nail nice and thin so that I can function with my nails. I have gone as long as three weeks before coming back in to have them filled (don't judge I get busy). Jenny is quite the artist and can do quality designs as well. I come in often with a design I've seen and ask her if she can do it. She smiles at me and goes right to it, never disappoints. Her mom is amazing with pedicures, her name is Ann. After the pedicure they do a stone massage. I've even had Jenny wax my eyebrows on occasion, she is a perfectionist ! I have found the place to be cleaned and sanitized. They acully have an outside cleaning company come in and deep clean regularly. I know this because I have used them to clean my home. This place is awesome I would never go anywhere else. The technician who did my nails was very nice but I wasn't happy with the quality of the work . 3o dollars for a gel mani is more than reasonable if your nails come out good but mine were sloppily done . I have so much polish on my cuticles , and of course that is going to be more likely to snag and come off meaning this manicure has a shelf life of a few days . This is exactly what a nail salon should be! At last, an environment that is clean, peaceful and relaxing with a top notch pedicure job and a massage from Michael that was out of this world, I got goose bumps several times. Beyond recommend Vinny's. Details: When I heard there was a new nail salon in Palm Desert I jumped at the chance to give them a try after being less than satisfied with two other local salons where I was used to being greeted by pushy women, a loud TV, employees talking amongst themselves and therefore blindly doing my nails, massages that felt like someone was simply applying lotion, and magazines that were outdated and filthy. At Vinny's I was greeted with a smile and was even asked my name! I was allowed to pick my color without feeling rushed. The chairs are so comfy and the chair massage works great. The decor and colors are warm and inviting with 6 beautiful crystal ball chandeliers, and dark wood ceiling fans. The gorgeous flat screen TV was perfectly placed as to be viewed from all chairs but the best part was that the volume was off and in its place was beautiful instrumental music that created a relaxing environment akin to be at an exclusive spa. The employees weren't talking to each other (except when necessary), which was so refreshing. I was able to truly unwind and had no desire to even open a magazine...if my eyes weren't shut I was gazing out the windows at the mountains. Michael didn't hurt me once with tools, he actually looked at my feet to see where I needed extra callus scrubbing, and the leg and foot massage I received was the best I've ever had. Friendly, but the older guy who did my fingernails went ahead, after I asked him not to, and did a lot of cuticle cutting. He started with pushing my cuticles back, but I've had better attempts with this at other salons. Then he told me he'd snip just a bit, but it ended up being so much that now my skin is peeling back with all the annoyances that come with peeling skin. The design I asked for (I showed them a photo was not close to what I asked for but didn't have the time or energy to ask them to fix it) they should have simply told me they couldn't do what I asked for and I would have been more satisfied. The quality of the gel polish is not good, they were very friendly and have two techs working on me at the same time while I sat in the massage chair, never had to go to a desk station for the manicure. I came here for the first time yesterday for a manicure, decided to get an acrylic base with gel on top. They came out nice, but the acrylics are all uneven and don't match in length on either hand. It's only noticeable when you get a good look but it still bothers me that for $35 they could have been done better. Also, when she was filing down the acrylics with the auto nail file, she kept cutting into my cuticles and burned/cut through my skin!!! They still hurt a day later! If I could give a ZERO star I would. I'm shocked this salon has a 4-5 star overall rating. The technician I had asked me 5 separate times if I wanted a manicure and the color I wanted (which was all said when I walked in). Yes, I want a mani/ pedi with the same nail color. Speaking of nail colors...they thin theirs out and most are so old if they don't thin the polish its gloppy. The technician cut my nails with the cuticle trimmer rather nail clippers. He didn't use lotion for the massage part of the pedicure while wearing latex gloves...latex rubbing skin HURTS!!! He also didn't allow for my cuticles to soak for long and the trimming of the cuticles was painful. This was the first mani/ pedi I was able to treat myself to in a year and I was disappointed. This was not the most fun way to end my trip in the desert. Go somewhere else or save your money. read more

Vinny's is a great nail studio. Very clean and professional. Excellent pedicures with hot stones which is lovely. I also go for gel manicures which are expertly done and last for weeks. Gels are my new favorites. I've had Tina and Cesar for the gels and they did fantastic jobs. Michael gives great pedicures. But I'd say they are all really good and very nice people. Came here on a Sunday after several nail places that claim to be open on Sundays, were not in fact, open. I should actually thank the places that were closed because my friend and I received a great pedicure from Vinny's! I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who did my pedicure because she was soooo good at massaging my feet! She also gave a great pedicure, but honestly, if someone is bad at the massage part, I consider the whole pedicure a loss. Ann also gave me a great manicure and was so nice and welcoming!
