I LOVE the Jasmine boba, not too sweet and I tried the Taro for the first time the other day and it was really delicious. Great for when you want a non-caffeinated option. The people that work here are always pleasant too. I usually grab the tea to go but it's nice to sit on the swing chairs and enjoy!
Boba is terrible. If you think this is actually good, then you haven't had real boba! The balls weren't cooked properly -- some of them were hard and only have chewy. I ordered a taro swirl and it only had some light lavender color but zero, absolutely zero taro flavor. This was basically sweetened milk. Ordering was through an app so a couple of young staff were making the drinks. This is the only boba truck I can see in the Spark Social area so you might be tempted by the menu like I was -- but don't fall for it!! $7.25 gone
I've been wanting to try this place for a while, so today I ordered a My Strawberry Valentine, less sweet no ice, for pickup. They have a SnackPass kiosk/screen there that you can use to order on site as well. The shop is located among the Spark Social food trucks, in case you want to get food at the same time. Even with lower sweetness, it was still very sweet (DoorDash only has the option to select "less sweetness," so you can't specifically check 0%, 25%, 50% etc. in DoorDash). The quantity was okay but the prices are pretty high for boba. I drank it quite quickly, probably because I was hungry and thirsty at the time and I also have a sweet tooth. It really did not look like what was pictured on the menu when I picked up the drink, but that may have been due to strawberry topping sinking into the bottom of the drink. It contained some cute heart shaped jellies. I do appreciate that they offer some less common drink ingredients/flavors, like drinks with dragon fruit, cotton candy, and butterfly pea flower, and plenty of non-caffeinated options.

They do have almond milk as a substitute if you like. Tried their "Oh Taro" and oh my goodness is it sweet. I wished they decreased the sugar by at least 50%. They also don't mix it well either so by the end, you are just drinking milk. The boba were actually not bad though!

We wanted to grab a drink before an even and settled on a Cloud 9. We tried using the kiosk and got to the end but there was an error. When someone did take our order, they didn't ask anything about ice or sweetness level as the kiosk had...ok. As we were waiting and dad asked his probably 12 year old son if he wanted a drink while they were walking by and the kid said "Nah ,the cloud 9 tastes like s***". We laughed a little because we had just ordered that and because the kid was so blunt. That was the only smile shared while at Virtual TeaKup. The kid was right. The few other people waiting had their orders forgotten (as did we) until the same guy who took our order asked us what we were waiting for 10 minutes later and then had someone start making our drink. There were 3 people inside and only 3 orders while we were there so service was very disappointing. When we did finally get the drink, it was not as cute as advertised and just tasted like cream and sugar. It was very disappointing. Like I said, it could have been a fluke but from the experience, that seems doubtful.
Yum! I'm definitely liking this new boba spot that is closeby AND on doordash! At first I was worried because usually the really instagrammable and colorful boba drinks are also REALLLLLLY sweet. Luckily for me, I saw they had an option to adjust sweetness and with a "less sweet" option, it was actually the perfect amount of sweetness for me! Preferred sweetness! The Cloud Boba was really good - when you order on doordash, it doesnt come with cotton candy on top! I kinda wanted the cotton candy but I'm cool without it cuz...well, the sweetness aspect of it. Is this sounding redundant yet? lol. Anyhoo! Note that if you like really soft and squishy boba, this might not be the place for you. the boba in my drink was on the harder side, but I kinda prefer it that way. No gripes here! Yayy!
Like the convenience of boba right in the Spark Social food truck park. But that's essentially it, convenience. Their drink was on the ok side and disappointed they ran out of brown sugar boba so their crystal boba was a substitute option. The cashier was very friendly, she ran outside of the regular brown sugar boba, and the replacement of crystal boba was as great, it costs less than $10 per order.
Not a fan of their customer service. The drink my daughter (and I) tried, and the overall experience was disappointing. On Sundays per their posted hours displayed on their window it notes 11:30am to 5pm. On 05Feb2023 they were not open for sales when I initially passed by at 12pm. Additionally, while I understand that the employees need to take their breaks they should post the times they are closed for lunch which I find surprisingly that two employees need to take a lunch break at the same time and therefore losing 45min to 1 hour of sales considering hours of operation (open for sales) is only 5.5 hours. After eating lunch I came by around 1:45pm. They were closed for lunch. I actually would not have came back due to the inconvenience of waiting and having to come back however my daughter really wanted to try the cloud 9. I opted to wait. Once coming back about 40ish min later I noticed there were two employees. One would think one goes on break the other still works to keep sales going. The drink was $6.75 (price has gone up from the last pic of the menu on yelp which is understandable since pic was old but I noticed as time goes by prices have increased). I paid with 4 tickets $8.00. I did not receive change/credit back so I can only assume they pocket the $1.25 as their tip. Sure..even though I have a difference of opinion on that they deserved in terms of a tip at all with the very limited and minimal customer service provided. Now for the drink. It was cool looking just by looking at it and the ingredients listed from the menu I was thinking it would be super sweet. Totally off. 1. Pic on menu had blue and pink cotton candy I just had the blue on mine. I already felt jipped. 2. The taste - I was wrong it was not super sweet at all. Actually it just tasted like milk with boba in it. What in the world?! The only thing good about it was the tapioca pearls which were soft and chewy a tad on the gummy side but not bad at all. I am stumped on how they can make a pretty ig worthy drink taste like whole milk with boba in it. Not a fan and will not come back.

This place is one of the foodtrucks at Spark Social, fairly colorful so you can't miss the truck. I appreciate the tablet in front that I can order from, but honestly I could have put in my order way faster talking directly to a person, especially considering that the menu is not very extensive - there's just 12 items. They kept the window closed so I couldn't even ask any questions, which would have been great because I would have wanted to know how sweet the drinks are. When I went, there wasn't really a line in front of the foodtruck, and you do get your order fairly quickly. I got the cheesecake spundae, which was way too sweet! But delicious, nevertheless. My friends didn't like the boba, which wasn't soft. All in all, since there's not too many drink options at Spark Social, this does the trick... but there's better boba you can get. It's all cold drinks here, so it doesn't help if you're ordering here on a cold day. read more

(Overall: 85% | B) I ordered the Strawberry Mango drink, which looks pleasing but the flavors are not necessarily up to par. I found the strawberry component of the drink to be VERY bland and needed significant mixing from the mango component to provide better balance. While this is not a bad principle to work with, the ice makes it difficult to combine well and the drink would be better if each individual component is better balanced. Besides that, I found the flavors to be pleasing. read more

All the yes! On the menu My Thai! Love the name, however this is just a spin on the classic Thai ice tea with some cream. It was a little sweet; but the cream balanced out the sweetness, so make sure to stir! Awesome treat on National Boba Day, so I had to do it. They also have some really creative flavors like Blueberry Cheesecake & Cotton Candy! So if you're feeling festive and want to try some outrageous flavors, then off to Virtual TeaKup we go! read more

The new boba spot at Spark that replaced powder and own by the people of Wicked Star. You literally cannot miss this place as it located at the front of Spark and SO sparkly! This review is purely based on the Tokyo Drift, so please give their drinks a try and determine for yourself how you like their drinks! At first glance they have a unique menu with a variety colorful drinks. I typically opt for matcha drinks to determine my thoughts about the place. I ordered the Tokyo Drift (matcha latte topped with crema) and asked for less sweetness and light nice. The guy told me I didn't have to adjust the sweetness since the drink wasn't that sweet. I agreed, but was skeptical since "sweetness" is so relative (I typically order my drinks 30% or 50% sweetness & sometimes I still think it's too sweet - for reference). To my surprise - it was the perfect amount of sweetness for me. However, thought the drink was good - it tasted like any other matcha latte. I typically make my own at home and it taste pretty similar (without the crema). I feel like if they made a matcha crema instead, it would elevate the drink and give it a more unique taste. There have so many other drinks to try - so I'll be back! read more
After a sweltering game of mini-golf (it was hot in SF???), I was looking for a cold, creamy refresher to re-energize myself before heading out. I went for the sequin covered pop up as they were literally sparkling. Additionally, their menu and vibe was reminiscent of Tisane for any South Bay natives. Tokyo Drift (2/5): This is matcha with crema and I found it ridiculously sweet. I don't believe they allow you to adjust sweetness here and found myself parched after a couple sips. Beyond that, there was just too much matcha powder in the drink to the point that the drinking experience felt grainy. Within a couple minutes, I had miniature sand dunes at the bottom of my cup, which is never a good sign. The service is super fast and if I was just rating them for service, they would get a solid 4.5/5. Unfortunately, the stars are just for the quality of the Tokyo Drift. They have a bunch of other drinks that look and sound delicious, so go for those instead. Or there's a Happy Lemon down the block. read more
tried this place twice before finally coming to this disappointing conclusion ! ): P A R K I N G lots of meter parking available around, but it can sometimes be hard to find a spot depending on the day and time-- 3.5/5 D R I N K S got the dragonfruit the first time and was pretty disappointed. could barely taste the dragonfruit, and wish there were dragonfruit bits to add to the flavor and texture. when i got it the first time the drink was also not filled to the top but just assumed it was the barista. got the thai tea the second time, which you can't really mess up. however, AGAIN the drink had so much distance from being filled it was ridiculous. -- 3/5 S E R V I C E both times coming here the baristas were very dismissive, even more so the second time. no words when giving me the drink, just placed it on the counter with the most monotone look on his face. -- 2/5 O V E R A L L i give up on this place. not worth it! read more
Such a great addition to Spark Social! The menu has a variety of tea / milk / matcha / taro / fruit juice based drinks that are innovative and tasty. The portions are large for less than five dollars per drink. Would definitely recommend trying! The boba - classic jasmine tea with crema, brown sugar, and boba. Rich tea flavor, not too sweet, with soft boba (not chewy though if that's more your preference) Tokyo drift - premium match with crema and brown sugar. Light matcha flavor and sweet but not too sweet. Only downside was I could still taste some of the grainy matcha powder that had not fully mixed in read more
What a way to spend the rest of the late afternoon at SPARK Social hoping to get something to drink to cool down! Of course, I been huffing and puffing, hoping to make it to the flu shot clinic before it's too late. Once I'm through, I can slow down while heading to what I passed through the first time, Virtual TeaCup. That glitter-in-the-wind beverage truck has gotten the same great attention as other food trucks, which makes it more attractive than Boba Guys. Well, different names to each bubble drinks we used to have. But there's one fruit tea that makes a bigger difference, and that's Mystichrome GT. With crystal boba as my best choice, it couldn't be mistaken for Dragon Ball GT. Its crystal pearls were perfectly chewy. As for the dragon fruit butterfly pea club soda mix, that feeling transported me towards space age. If you're looking for a better drink to cool you down in Mission Bay, Virtual TeaCup in SPARK Social shall answer your thirst. Cash accepted. read more

Spotted this place at the Spark Social SF. They have a fun drink menu. They have drinks such as My Thai, Cloud 9, Pink dragon, Mystichrome GT, the creme brûlée and etc. They all sounded good. While in line I kept hearing people wanting to get the Cloud 9 and pink dragon drink. I ended up ordering the boba - the classic milk tea drink. For this drink you get a choice of jasmine or black tea. I picked jasmine. I loved how this drink tasted. It was not so sweet and the boba was nice and soft. My boyfriend went for the My Thai- thai tea with crema, boba, condense milk. He liked the drink Overall, drinks were good and services was nice and friendly. We will have to come back to try the other drinks out. read more
My friend and I spotted Virtual Teakup at Spark Social SF and were drawn to their pretty truck and fun drink menu. My friend ordered the Strawberry Mango Sunrise, while I ordered the Tropical Passion. Both of our drinks were sweet and refreshing. Overall, I'm happy with the drinks, quick service, and fair prices. Excited to come back and try other items from their menu. read more

Went to Spark Social with some friends and decided to get some drinks. One friend and I got the strawberry mango sunrise, and others had milk teas. Milk teas were good, according to my friends. But strawberry mango sunrise was lacking flavor and very bland after fruits inside were eaten. It was good while the fruit lasted, though. I don't like overly sweet stuff, but the drinks needed more sugar or fruits (probably both). read more
Tasty tea with soft and chewy boba! The jasmine tea flavor was pretty strong, and the price was reasonable given the size and amount of boba. Sweetness was fairly balanced--probably could have dialed it down a touch. Will def be back to try more flavors, especially given the location in Spark Social, which is a super cool spot. read more

Cutest food truck I saw, but too bad their drinks did not taste great. We ordered the mystichrome GT and the creme brûlée, and both were disappointing drinks. The creme brûlée drink is basically a milk tea with creme brûlée topping, but their creme brûlée was incredibly chunky and tasted egg-y. Worst drink I have ever had? Is is because my standards are too high since having this drink from Urban Ritual? Either way, I do not recommend this drink. If you'd really like to try a milk tea with creme brûlée topping, I recommend making a run to Urban Ritual. The mystichrome gt drink wasn't too bad, but for a drink that has lemonade ... it was not sour enough. Tasted super sweet and watered down. It was around $12 for both drinks...yikes. I'd skip this place. read more

I recently had the chance to try Virtual TeaKup at Spark Social in SF, and I really enjoyed it! They have some really interesting and unique drinks that I haven't seen anywhere else and they serve them out of a super cute trailer that makes for a great picture background. I tried 3 drinks and my favorite was definitely the Creme Brulee. It's a jasmine milk tea with creme brûlée pudding at the bottom and a creme bruleed top. It's sweet, creamy, and absolutely delicious. It doesn't have a lot of tea flavor though, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you like. My next favorite was the Cloud 9. It's a milk-based drink without any tea, but it's still flavorful. It's milk, watermelon syrup, butterfly pea flower tea, and boba topped with crema and cotton candy. It's super sweet and definitely for those with a sweet tooth. The boba came out hot and a good consistency, just a little on the chewy side. The Cheesecake Spundae was the last drink I tried, and it was probably my least favorite, although it was still good. It's a jasmine milk tea with mixed berries, cheesecake pieces, and topped with crema. The berry and cheesecake flavor just didn't come out very strongly for me, so I'll probably stick to the other drinks. Also, even though they were busy on a Sunday afternoon when I went, the staff was still really nice and the drinks came out fairly quickly. read more
Another boba place in my neighborhood? I just had to check it out. When a couple of my friends were meeting up for drinks, I made this the opportunity to try out Virtual TeaKup SF. I ordered the Oh Taro ($4.95) at 30% sweetness. It didn't take that long to get after ordering - maybe a few minutes. Great taro flavor, perfect amount of brown sugar sweetness. Decent amount of boba and the surprise of real taro chunks when I mixed up my drink. They smear some of the taro on the side of the cup so you know it's fresh! A great boba option for when I want the taro flavor, but also can't order $12 worth of Sharetea for the free deliver read more

I al obsessed with the mystychrome drink. I live in the neighborhood and work from home. So, when I need a break, I like to go on a walk to Spark Social. I go to TeaKup 9/10 times whether to accompany a meal or to have a drink by itself. If I'm feeling like I can drink something a bit heavier (it's pretty milky, but delicious), I get the dragonfruit drink. Check them out! read more
