I'm giving this place this rating based on the combination of the quality and wait time. We placed our order through their online ordering system at around 5:45ish with an estimated pickup time for 6:30. My fiancée went to pick up order and waited for nearly 80 minutes. I know it's Halloween night and apparently place was busy af, but seriously don't give a under estimate for a night that's apparently the busiest pizza eating time of the year. Anyway once we finally got he pizzas which were a half Garibaldi half white pizza and another one with pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers and onions my fiancée felt that the white pizza was missing a key ingredient he's apparently used to in Jersey and that's the garlic. I liked the white the best, although it would have been nice with more garlic. The garibaldi and pepperoni ones were really soggy. If I had to put them in order from best to worst it would probably be the white pizza, pepperoni and vegetables and garibaldi would be the worst. Also pizza is a bit prize. read more

I'm giving a 1 star review to one of my two favorite pizza spots in town, regrettably. On 12/27/21, I pre-ordered my dinner for New Years Eve (12/31/21) to be delivered between 6:30pm-7pm. On 12/31 NYE day, I got a call from Vito's saying they saw my order through GrubHub and that my meal was being made in a few hours for a 6:30pm pick up but that they had to charge me $3.30 on my visa for my ranch sauce requests since they couldn't charge me through GrubHub. No problem. All good so far. My GF and I are super excited for our night in and our dinner on NYE. We get the alert from GrubHub that our driver is on our way to the restaurant. Another that Vito's is preparing the food. And then I get this email (see attached photo). I try calling Vito's directly and they hang up. Call them again and it's busy. Try ordering from other restaurants and it's impossible. Ruined. I call Vito's a few days ago to speak to a manager and I explain all this to a nice employee who says a manager will call me back and make this right somehow. Still no call back. Pretty disappointed and what sucks is that I'm sure Vito's got overwhelmed on NYE but I feel they owe me one. They also weren't closed at that time and my order had already been placed. read more

Ordered for pickup - even if you try calling in, the recorded message will direct you to go to their website to order. So, if it's your first, there's no one to ask any question you may have. I initially thought it was pricey but as you'll find out later, the only size they have for a whole pie is HUGE - so if you want to try 2 different pies, I believe they have a half & half option. I guess the size justifies the price.... We were only two - not knowing the size of their pizza - we ordered two - Margherita and Sophia Loren - plus we got the eggplant Parmesan appetizer. Needless to say it was too much food - this was an order for 4 people. A mistake we could have avoided if there was someone to talk to. It would also help if they put the size of pizza on the description. The flavors of the pizza were really good, their crust was yummy. I believe it would have been even better if we ate it there, fresh from the oven. The eggplant Parmesan though did not travel well at all. By the time we got home (less than a mile away) it was gummy and hard to cut, but you could still see that it could have been good freshly cooked. So for taste alone, I'm Giving them 4 stars. I'd try it again, definitely. Probably eat there - there's ample parking, so its probably easier (and tastier) that way. read more

I came here at least five years ago for some pastas and slices and liked it then: the homey yet old school vibe of classic casual Italian American food. Coming here the other day, after all this time (including having visited the Santa Monica establishment a good handful of times), I was so glad that this Vito's is still the Vito's that I remember. OK, the space is a bit tight in a long slice kind of way. It would be nice to have a bit more room, but that's fine. Table service brings out a server, or if it's to go, order at the counter. The Eggplant Parm is very good. I'd recommend the appetizer size - it's a good trio of crunchy eggplant medallions with a bit of cheese and a tangy, tasty tomato sauce. Still hungry? Then eat from your neighbor's entree size portion of the Chicken Parm. Very tasty and huge - includes a salad and a side of pasta. STILL HUNGRY? Well, try a slice. They have many to choose from, and there's some inventive ones - not just the standard couple. I've enjoyed their slices in the past here, but this time, I was plenty satisfied with my Eggplant Parm. So after years of living in Los Angeles (probably a decade) I had this "friend" who me and my significant other would constantly give recommendations to...I mean he would call us for advice or suggestions and we would happily give him our opinion or tell him where to go in LA for the best of.... Fast forward one day I'm passing by Vito's on La Cienega and decide to look this place up. I decided to place an order based on the good reviews. I had my first Vito pie and I will say you cannot go wrong with nearly everything you order here! Well, ok the Mediterranean salad has white onions and I've complained about it and even asked for red onions and for some reason they can't do it. But other than that small detail, Vito's is the ONLY pizza I crave! I stopped going to those other pizza joints who CLAIM to be the best NY style pizza (I see you Joe's Pizza). Then one day on my second visit I ran into this "friend" at Vito's and it was then that I knew-I mean I had always known he wasn't a true friend, but running into him here and him telling me he had been going to Vito's for over a decade, and never once mentioned it or recommended it to us. Insert side eye emoji. How dare he gatekeep!! I mean I barely wrote this review because in LA sometimes you're afraid to tell people for fear of the spot blowing up, so I kinda get it, but Vito's deserves (as did I deserve to know about this place from my "friend") all the praise! We used to visit all the time. We had 4 birthdays in a month and would come for each one. We told everyone to come here. A few years ago it started changing. We didn't come often. Today we decided we wanted to try it after a couple of years and I'm so sad to say how disappointed we were. It Lacked the fun vibe it had. It was so welcoming before. The employees were so friendly and made you feel like a friend. It just wasn't the same. The Pizza wasn't the same either. It lacked the "love and pride" you used to be able to taste in it. Vito's never felt like the newer ones that popped up. Where there was a disconnect between employees and customers. The pizza? Amazing. The service? Atrocious. I've been going here for years. One of my favorite pizza spots in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, over the past year or so, the service here has disintegrated. The pizza is still one of the most flavorful ones in the City, which is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. The employees used to be kind & helpful. Now, they exhibit nothing but a bad attitude & tone. I've visited several times this year. Each time, there has been at least one unprovoked instance of bad attitude from at least one employee. Today, there were 2-3 employees at the shop. I ordered my pizza online & was only given the option to take it to go. When I got there, one employee remarked with an unpleasant tone, "it's almost ready, just gonna let it get extraaaa crispy like you wanted." I decided to let it go. After I got the pizza, I decided to eat there. I asked for a couple paper plates. One employee rolled his eyes as he begrudgingly handed me 5 paper plates. Again, I decided to let it go. After eating 6 of the 8 slices with friends, I asked another employee for a small to-go box. He reached for a box, then smirked and remarked with a clearly unpleasant tone, "wait, don't you already have a box?" I replied, "yes, but it's very large and oily, I'd like to take the two small slices in a smaller box." He responded with a chuckle of disgust and "okayyyy" as he rolled his eyes. He then tossed two boxes toward me. I let it go again, put my two slices in the small box, cleaned up the entire table, and put the big box in the trash outside. As I was leaving, the same employee walked out, gave us a look of disgust, rolled his eyes, grabbed the large box from the trash and walked inside. I will not return until the employees learn the meaning of customer service. If you'd like to charge me for the plates and boxes, please do so. But do not direct your inexplicable, misguided, and unprovoked frustration toward customers. read more

Horrible. I order some slices on Postmates, it seems each slice was just cheese with the additional added toppings added raw on top. The "supreme" had all raw cold veggies on top. As a native New Yorker this pizza is garbage. Try prime, ghost, or prince street. I feel Like Vito's thinks they can get away with this because they probably have a lot of online orders in a busy area and can stay in business with poor quality pizza. It is a little pricy though, FOUR slices to-go was almost $23. Left thinking I should of just ordered a whole pizza. It all depends on which slices you order but still... Beside the price point - the pizza is good don't get me wrong. Not sure how long the pizza was sitting out for but the crust was a little tough for my liking. If you order a fresh pie from Vito's and you dont rate it a 5 star immediately, then you must hate life. This pizza is almost indistinguishable from New York style ( east coast ) pizza. Ordered a fresh cheese pizza and everything was just like the pizza I grewup eating in New York when visiting family. The crust was perfectly foldable and delicious crispy and soft and the cheese was great, but the SAUCE!!! Perfectly seasoned and they put the perfect amount on the pie. There are a few other pizza places that used to be my go to in LA for new york style, but after trying Vitos after living in La for over 10 years... none of the come close. Other places are inconsistent either not enough sauce ( larchmont village pizza ) or crust is too thick randomly ( sinful pizza ) Vito's is god tier pizza in LA. I've tried the pesto pizza, margherita, and a build your own with meatballs and veggies. The pesto pizza is definitely the best, but all were really good. The pizza is really filling and the slices are huge. Their biggest pizza was enough for three people to eat their fill. Vito's is a family owned business that is definitely worth supporting. Came across this restaurant while looking for places to order dinner from amidst the chaos of protests, pandemic, and multiple early store closures. Thankfully, was still open and the lady who took my order was so kind and helpful! Ordered an 18" pepperoni pizza ($25.95) with a Mediterranean salad ($11.95). They use a real brick oven and it definitely helps bring out the savory flavors of all the ingredients. Even though it is just a pepperoni pizza you can tell it's not your typical kind. The slices were large and the ratio of pepperoni, cheese, and crust was on point and it was so crispy underneath. The Mediterranean salad consists of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, pepperoncini, onions, feta cheese, and Vito's balsamic dressing. All of the ingredients tasted and looked fresh and it was a great side to eat with the pizza. Especially as a palate cleanser and to balance the saltiness of the pizza. My son had never tried a calzone until he did and boy was it a calzone. The size of a mini loaf. The bread was delicious the ingredients that we chose were too!
