First and last time we will go there, next time I want chicken I'll go to the grocery store and and get a whole chicken 5 to 6 lbs. for less than a third of the cost. read more

I was really excited to see this place in Nexton as I have not had good Peruvian chicken since I lived in Northern Virginia a few years ago. We split a full chicken between 3 people which was a good portioning as it came with 3 larger sides. For the sides we picked solterito, canary beans, and fries. The white part of our chicken was as dry as my dead grass in deep South Carolina summer. Thank goodness this came with dipping sauces because it woulda been inedible without them. Also, I'd say the spices on the chicken just weren't tasty enough compared to other Peruvian chicken I have had previously. While the chicken wasn't great, I will say the solterito, beans, and fries were delicious. But if Chicken is in the name of your restaurant you need to get that right. I visited a restaurant in Summerville, Viva Chicken Summerville. When I entered, the employees were pleasant and the restaurant was very clean. The atmosphere felt good, and there wereots of folks coming in to get orders. I got to the counter and the employee was so helpful explaining what some of the items were. She also shared what the most popular otems were as well. Then, she offered a sample of the three juice choices if I wanted to try one. I ordered my food, received a buzzer to notify me once the food was ready. I found my table, got my soft drink, and as soon as I sat the pager was going off. I got up, and the server was coming towards me with my food. The food was delicious! It was the smallest leg quarter I have seen in a bit, but it was packed with flavor. The entire order was hot, fresh, and flavorful! I was also pleasantly surprised at the fountain drink counter, there were to go boxes. Very nice! Great value for fresh and tasty quick-serve food that isn't burgers, pizza, etc. We've only ordered through DD delivery, but the food has always arrived quickly and hot. The chicken portions were much larger than we'd expected so next time we knew to order a little less. The sauces are delicious and the fries are good.. one order was more than enough for 2 of us. The only thing I didn't love were the rice sides..they were a little too bland for my taste, but adding some of the sauces helped. The beans were very good so that made up for it. As I said, the order of fries we received was huge, and although they weren't hot (to be expected with delivery from Nexton to Moncks Corner) they were still good. This is my go place for take out. The flavor of their chicken is amazing. It beats a grocery store rotisserie chicken hands down and they are larger. My favorite sides are the green beans, Peruvian rice and plantains. There is just 2 of us, but there is enough food to feed us for 2 dinners and a lunch. Very cost effective. read more

We ordered the whole chicken with 3 sides...Solterito salad-super tasty (garbanzo beans, red onion, tomato, feta, dressing, cilantro and another bean), arroz chaufa-Peruvian fried rice and plantains because who doesn't love plantains!!!! I ate almost the whole box of plantains by myself. We tried the Huancaina sauce (sort of like a queso sauce)-this was probably the only thing we didn't care for. My husband enjoyed the Rocoto sauce which is spicy. The whole chicken came in 4 quarters and was so juicy and not dried out at all. Now let's talk about dessert.....please save room for this, the Tres Leches.....OMGOSH!!! This was so incredibly tasty and melt In your mouth. We also got a churro which was delicious. We will definitely be eating at this place again! If you are in Nexton please stop at this place. No pictures of food because we dug right in. I understand that business wise we cannot bring the entire culture in a restaurant. But if you claim to of a specific country cuisine, the least they could do is ensure the food is cook thoroughly. The plantains were raw on the inside. The string beans were ok. Cleanliness is to be desired; we were there to eat in, and it was not busy. They did not clean tables when customers left. The staff or the manager would not apologize for screwing up our order. They keep saying well it's all chicken soup.
