Food was good and came out super quick. They renovated this space that's been empty for over a year nicely. We got 3 dishes to share the steak fried rice (steak was buttery), kung pao shrimp/chicken, and the twice cooked pork-neither of 2 entrees come with rice. The dishes definitely had some wok hei (wok smoke taste) and a good portion. They also gave us the 3 hot sauce options which includes a house made chili oil. Not sure if this is supposed to be a super fancy place but I would say it's expensive for a regular lunch. The build-out in this restaurant is beautiful. It's such a pleasant place to have lunch. There's a bright, sunny bar in the front and cozy tables and upstairs space as you continue in. The service is quick and thoughtful and the food is very tasty. The nine flavor basil beef is my favorite. It's so tender and flavorful. It's hard to branch out and try other dishes. Vivienne's Bistro is definitely a step above your traditional Chinese food. The modern take on classic Chinese dishes blew me away. I craved Peking duck and it didn't disappoint. With a simple addition of a candied lemon, the Peking duck was elevated with new flavors but still remained true to what the dish should be: it was sweet, succulent, and had me craving more. The restaurant itself has a modern vibe that is a little more upscale. The staff were very helpful on choosing the right drinks and dishes which made my visit enjoyable. This place is so great! It has a modern vibe with some traditional Asian artwork and pottery. We ordered the Peking duck and the woodear cucumber salad and both came out quickly and was delicious. They add these caramelized lemons to eat with the duck that gave the bite sweetness and acid, and it was just sooo good. A nice spin on such a traditional dish!! I'd recommend definitely sharing the duck between 2-3 people as it is quite large. The service was friendly too and it was nice seeing the owner walking around as well. So, what happened was, we started out at an Italian restaurant, just around the corner. Let's just say that even after being seating, we walked out. We went to Vivienne's instead. I'm so happy we did. The place is so modern and chic. The design is lovely. The hanging lanterns aren't your typical red and bright colors. They are understated and elegant. It's not a large restaurant. We felt that the tables were spaced nicely. We didn't feel crowded, even though they were very busy. It was a Friday night, prime dinner time. We were still able to get a table very quickly. The food...oh my! We are from California. We have amazing, award winning Asian restaurants. Vivienne's should win awards. We had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. They were on point! 5/5 tasty. Next the Master Chef Fried Rice with Chicken. So good! We enjoyed the fresh vegetables and the light touch of oil for a moist rice. 5/5 again. Also ordered the 9 Spice Basil Beef with Hoisin Sauce. OMG! The beef almost melted in your mouth. It was decadent!! If I could say 10/5 I would. So 5/5 it is. This was my favorite. My husband ordered the Cumin Spicy Lamb. It had the perfect spice. Just enough for you to know it was there but not over the top. The lamb was moist and delicious. This was his favorite dish. Again I wish I could give more than 5/5. So very good. Also had 3 cocktails. The Tropical Butterfly, Vanilla Whiskey Sour and the Casa Pina. All were delicious. They didn't skimp on the alcohol. We enjoyed all three. The service was spot on. OMG!! Do not skip this place if you are in downtown Seattle. I am disappointed that I couldn't eat more! We are staying at the Sheraton and wanted something close. We walked by Vivienne's on the way to another restaurant and looked in the windows as we passed by. The food look enticing. We ended up walking out of the first place and going over to Vivienne's. We were glad that we did!! The staff sat us right away and patiently answered our questions. We ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts and a couple of drinks to start. The drinks were tasty, as we're the Brussels sprouts. The star of the show was the entrees. We ordered the Nine Flavor Basil Beef, Cumin Spicy Lamb, and Master Chef Fried Rice with chicken. Located inside the Sheraton Grand Seattle Hotel, Vivienne's Bistro is an Asian-esque restaurant that can be accessed from the street or within the hotel. The primary reason for low rating was due to the service. The server, Tony, was insulting, arrogant, and showed no concern or respect for customers. I was absolutely floored how he was so blatantly rude. The food in general was just good. The portion size is small. One main dish is really just enough for one person. We ordered the Grilled Tofu, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Szechuan Style Green Beans, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Orange Peel Chicken, Kung Pao Surf & Turf, Mapo Tofu Fish. Most of the dishes were good (not great), with the exception of the Steamed BBQ Pork buns. They were NOT good. Very little filling and it was over-steamed as the bread was mushy. I would not order this again. The Grilled Tofu was just ok. Also note that it is soft tofu that they grill, not the firm tofu. The Mapo Tofu Fish was disappointing in that you cannot tell if there is any actual fish in the dish. If you pay real close attention and sift through the sauce, you may find a "big" enough piece to actually identify it as fish. The flavor itself was fine but I wouldn't call it Mapo Tofu FISH if it's that hard to find the fish. This is where Tony's true personality and arrogance showed up. After our meal, he asked how everything was. I expressed to him that the Mapo Tofu Fish was disappointing in the you couldn't really tell there was any fish. Tony then proceeds to tell me that maybe in the future, instead of ordering Mapo Tofu Fish, I should order FISH Mapo Tofu. Really??? He's saying that I ordered incorrectly? Mind you, there is no such dish available. So he's not only being rude, he's throwing shade at me?!! I could not believe it. First, do NOT ask the customer how everything was if you do not want to hear their answer. Second, if you do receive an answer you do not like, how about saying something like, "I'll pass that thought along, or I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking, sorry to hear that, I hope you like the other dishes." Instead Tony decides to be upset at my opinion, be rude, and then give me an attitude? HORRIBLE customer service. Truly unbelievable. Never again will I come here because of the service. read more

Went here for our trip to Seattle and this was the first time trying Vivienne's Bistro. I will start by saying the customer service was great, and I enjoyed the alc drinks. It chewed like a piece of USDA Select. Pork+shrimp wonton soup had an extreme amount of ginger in the wontons. My teenagers usually love fried rangoon, but each had one bite and never touched them again. The Kalbi short ribs were good, the best dish we ordered. This location for Vivienne's is new and obviously working out the kinks. No less than 3 items ordered were 86, or missing or can not. But, the service was apologetic and what they did have was mostly yummy. The Squid ink rice with cheese was the most incongruous item I have ever eaten an Asian restaurant. I quizzed the staff and they were equally befuttled. The Pea Vines were absolutely magic! When a simple plate of greens makes you "tear up" you have to be respectful. I frequent this location often because of the distance from my office. Always pleasantly surprised by the quality of customer service from the staff and speed of the food arriving gets me in and out in the short time I have available. My recent visits (Tuesday) seem to be the opposite. The restaurant was not much more busy than usual however it seemed less staffed than usual My usually 20-30 minute lunch turned to 45 minutes. Looks like it was understaffed but I appreciate the effort from the staff they were apologetic about the longer wait time. A friend in our group suggested this place for a late joined birthday get together so we all went last night. The restaurant is beautifully decorated without being over the top, relatively busy but wasn't too crowded (we had reservation at 6pm Friday evening). We ordered a lot of food including. The Peiking duck, honey walnut prawns, fried pork belly, chef noodle, wood ear and cucumber salad and bunch more. I was pleased that it wasn't oily or overly seasoned and the taste was just right. The rice we asked for was a bit dry and came later when some of the food was served. The mocktails were delicious. Our table's waitor Isaac was attentive, nice and made us feel welcome and went taken care of! The establishment seemed rather "new" so they haven't gotten their drink list or dessert menu worked out yet, and sometimes I saw the disconnection in communication among servers, bar. It's a cute restaurant with corner views and bright open windows. As for the food, I personally consider it a miss and expensive for what you get. I thought the shu mai dumplings were a bit weird and the bell peppers add on seemed weird. The chicken and shrimp dish was fine but def not worth the amount we paid, I think it was about 23-26 ish for that plate. The kalbi ribs were very flavorful but there was no knife given to us with the dish or provided as part of our silverware set-up, so we're were forced to eat them with our hands "cave man" style!!! Let's talk about the food I ordered and limit the discussion to these 2 dishes. Squid ink fried rice. There was a little too much of mozzarella cheese on top. It's not spaghetti, it's Asian rice. Probably could have been better instead of a loaded mozzarella fried rice, it is topped with Asian spices or even just simply green onions. And add more of shrimps and bacon. They were there, but a few far and between. You just gotta look for it. Crispy fried pork belly. Very simply flavored and done very well. Crispy. It comes in thin slices. I was expecting it to be in chunks. This could have been a better experience if it came with a dipping sauce to enhance the flavor and not leave your mouth dry. Remember, it's fried and of course it will be greasy. The restaurant has modern decor and I was thinking this may be an Asian fusion restaurant. I would say, leaning towards there. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without lecturing, and somehow always appearing exactly when we needed him.
