I really enjoyed the chicken from this place. We wanted something different for lunch so we decided to try Vons. At first it was a little hidden but we managed to find it, the sign is not very big so if you unsure use Google maps. Once we got there had to park on street because of limited stall in parking area. Once inside the menu is pretty simple. We decided to order a couple of the plate lunch. I ordered the shouyu chicken and my gf ordered the garlic. She got both with corn and Mac salad. We did have to wait maybe 10 to 15 min. The food was delicious and we tried some before we even left the parking lot. Let's just say it was difficult waiting till we got home to eat cause we had to run a few errands before going home. Very good food, nice size portions and prices were not bad. First time trying Von's and wanted to try in light of good reviews. Went to Von's in Kahului and ordered 20 piece Garlic Chicken and order of fries. Wait time was not terrible since they cook to order. If there is a next time, I will phone in the order to save wait time. On the 20 minute drive home, we snacked on the fries which were hot and crispy...very good for us. When we went to eat our chicken, we discovered that we did not get Garlic Chicken, but Honey chicken instead...very sweet...almost too sweet...and not a hint of garlic. We still ate the honey chicken, but were very disappointed our order was not as it should be. We may give them a try again, but will try their other location and check our order before leaving. So five of us went on a special operation that night. To seek and eat this amazing Korean chicken. Well, he was right! This got to be one of the best Korean chicken I have ate. Vons finally opened in Maui! They only offer as of now takeout or phone order pickups. I made a phone order around 530 pm and was told that the only pick up time available was at 730pm... I guess they were really busy during dinner time. They just opened so it's expected with any brand new place. Parking is minimal, tight and very dark at night so just be careful. I've tried the fries from the oahu chains and I didn't really care for them. I skipped them this time around and ordered the snow wings, seasoned wings (spicy), shoyu, and tteokbokki. Did not care for there style of tteokbokki just fried mochi and covered in sauce, not much flavor. The snow wings was probably the favorite out of the 3. There are 3 other flavors which I didn't order this time around, but had already tried them on oahu. The chicken was cooked to perfection very moist, super crispy and wasn't over powered with the sauces. The spicy seasoned Korean chicken wing is really delicious, not as spicy as I thought it would be, but still had some heat. The shoyu was good but more on the sweeter side. If you're looking for a really good chicken wing place this is it! Id recommended to go straight for the fried chicken and skip the sides, but if it's your first time you should try everything and decide what you like. I know its on the pricey side for wings but everything is more expensive in maui! Lol it's well worth it when your craving good wings IMO. I'm glad they opened something like this here! They were VERY dry and icing tasted like candy sprinkled lard. Took one bite and threw away the rest. Disappointing and a waste of money. Today (2/25) I ordered online 2 Korean corn dogs & some onion rings. About 5-10 minutes after placing my order I found out my grandpa passed away. We weren't able to pick up the order until literally an hour and a half probably actually two hours later. I sent my husband and I don't know who he talked too, (I wish we knew) but he explained that we had a family emergency. They were kind enough to make us a fresh batch of everything we ordered and added a little love to it as well. They didn't have to make us a fresh batch of everything. But they did. And it really meant a lot to me because I know everyone is struggling right now. I'm super thankful & feel very blessed for/by this local company. The food was great and the service was even better. Von's Maui keeps up with the quality that's associated with its name from the mainland. The top two flavors are Shoyu and Snow, but you can't go wrong with any of the regular crispies. The honey flavor is too sweet and overpowering. Garlic is pretty standard. Take out only and usually takes 15 mins to prepare. Service is friendly and efficient. The sides are good but nothing to rave about, although, it is nice to have variety. Plenty parking to pick up. We eat here about once a week. Highly recommend it. read more

Although it was covered in the load of delicious sauce, the crispiness was not lost. Made the mistake of ordering delivery and was told Teo different times that it was delayed. When asking for an update after an hour and a half of waiting the driver was not helpful. Then when asking to cancel it the driver got even more rude about it "saying omg ok I don't know how". Better delivery system would have made this experience great.
