Love this place. They got karaoke on top floor with the restaurant and bar. The server was very polite and a cool dude. The food was awesome. I had a pasta dish with Manila Clams I believe was linguine and it tasted perfect. But behold it was very pricey. Very pleased with my waitress, Amanda who was constantly checking on us to make sure everything is okay. The view of sunset was so beautiful. Was here over the weekend! Nice view, decent service at the bar, but i cant get over how poorly this place is run! They have 8 handles on draft, but only have 3 drafts available. That seems like someone is not doing their job effectively. I'm pretty positive restaurants make their money on alcohol. I think you guys need to re-evaluate your management. This spot is slowly coming into VUE for everyone (lol). They have done great things at this location and the remodel and re branding has been on point in transitioning this holiday inn to a contemporary, warm, bright, open space. I used to come here before (the lounge and the restaurant) and it's a whole new world now (just about). Some of the original staff who are still here should catch up with the evolution so that things become more efficient and organized...there are service delays when they really don't make sense and employees are running around a little frazzled and impersonal at times. Beyond that, this is a beautiful location for relaxing, gazing, eating, day dreaming, talking and/or watching the sunset. The crowd is mixed in age and various nights seem to draw different people...the weekend lounge singer has a great voice, energy and is a bit comical and sings things like "I love you baby and if it's quite all right I need you baby" songs to give you perspective. The singer on Wed eves is a young man with an awesome voice, who plays music from Jack Johnson to Prince. Gotta experience it all here at least once...it will be well worth your time! read more

I enjoy this place for the view, happy hour and occasional live music that maybe played. I'm just concerned about the wait staff because they are very slow and at times unorganized. We had to track one down just to take our drink order and I found that very unprofessional especially when the space isn't that large to begin with. I came here with some friends Friday night we had to wait45 minutes before the waiter greeted us or offered us any beverages. When we ordered alcohol the waiter took so long to bring it to us we had to get up and get our own drinks from the bar. Great restaurant for the price and the convenience especially if you are staying at holiday inn. It's the penthouse floor and you can get great views of the surrounding area. I arrived during lunch hours and we were immediately seated. It was pretty much empty when we got there but I think it might have been because we were eating at an odd time. The food was good. Ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and had their crab cake sliders. The salmon was well cooked, but a little too well done for my taste. The crab cake sliders were Ok - not enough crab cake, too much bread. Overall the service was great. The waiter was nice and informative and waters were refilled in a timely manner. I give this a 4 star though because the wait time for food was a bit longer than I expected for how empty the place was when we got there. read more

I was always a little hesitant on checking this place out due to it being on the top floor of Holiday Inn. However, VUE did exceed all my expectations from the moment we stepped in. Although there were more people than we expected, we were able to get seated right away at a table with a beautiful view. (If you can, make a reservation especially on Friday & Saturday nights. It'll make your life slightly easier if big parties happen to be there that night.) My friend and I both got sliders and some speciality cocktails- those were both delicious. Our server was very attentive and checked on us multiple times. He also had a great sense of humor so that made our experience all the more enjoyable. Okay, I've been at the Vue before so I was looking forward to going with my husband, since no one was answering the phone. We Get there and it's like a ghost town, the reason we walked in is because no one was answering the phone because we wanted it for the room and no one was even in the place, like 7 ppl. The guy apologized and asked my husband what he wanted, I asked for a drink menu I asked for a regular strawberry daiquiri and the hemming way had grapefruit. He brings it in a martini glass I taste it and look at the color and it is light pinkish I explain to him to it taste like grapefruit, the guy dismisses me like I don't know the difference between strawberries and grapefruit. Then he eats me say that we were going back to the room to my husband, and rudely says you can't take those back to your room. But I told you that we were taking the drinks back to our room before we ordered. He just went and got to plastic cups and put them on the counter. I dined here with a friend for their 3-course Thanksgiving dinner. Our server Gibson was prompt and pleasant! We both enjoyed our entree choices and all the sides that came with it. Our party of six stopped by here after a wedding/before the reception to kill some time/get buzzed. We haven't been since the place had been remodeled, so we were excited to see the changes. It's hard to believe this is a Holiday Inn. The exterior of the building, which used to appear quite dated, has been cleaned up, painted and looks fresh. VUE is a fantastic place to relax, enjoy a spectacular view of the LBC and nosh a little. The room has plenty of comfortable seating with sofas and soft chairs which make the experience more casual. We ordered cocktails - I think mine was a caramel Appletini - how femme can I get? We ordered the sampler appetizer platter along with steak nachos. It is so unlike me to miss an opportunity to photograph my food, but alas, this was the case. The sampler had garlic fries that were delicious and undoubtedly left us all with toxic breath. The nachos were good, just enough of a snack to satisfy the hunger we were beating off with a stick. Our server was friendly, prompt and had a sense of humor dealing with the raucous party that we'd like to think we are. At a glance it doesn't seem like much from the outside. In fact, I did not know about this place until I went to a Yelp event here. It is a bit bigger than what it seems from far away. NO, you don't have to be staying at the hotel in order to dine in. You just need to park and take the elevator from the hotel lobby all the way up.The food itself is  delicious. However, make sure to bring some money because this restaurant is not just some old wanna be restaurant. The food is great though: definitely recommend the  fried calamari(average price). The pricing as stated before, so not cheap, however, some of the things are very reasonable with today's market. The staff is great. They make sure to make you know that you've been noticed since you enter their restaurant and it feels like a laid back type of restaurant. The menu is new, it's expansive, and has everything for everyone's palate! My husbands wings came out a little cold and they replaced them with new ones! They tasted great! We had dinner here on St. Patrick's Day and had a wonderful experience. I live literally within walking distance and have frequented this restaurant/bar when it was the Panorama. The renovation is beautiful and very chic. The restaurant and bar sort of flow together, whereas they were previously completely separate areas. The vibe was fun and upbeat. We had the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer. Delicious. Even my daughter's boyfriend who doesn't care for jalapeños thought they were good. We ordered pan seared salmon, braised lamb shank and short rib sliders. Everything was very good and portions were generous. French fries were crispy and well done. Just the way I like them! The service was excellent and they were enthusiastically celebrating St. Paddy's Day! Miguel was our main server and he was so friendly and cheerful! The view is amazing. We watched planes landing. We could see all of the Jacaranda trees in bloom across parts of Long Beach. We could also see bits of Los Angeles. The food is great. I kid you not, it was horrible from the beginning. No one was at the front desk, totally had no record of my reservation, waited 20 mins. to be told that the beer we order wasn't available, 30 mins. total to get the first drink on the table, ahi tuna was an odd unseasoned luke-warm temperature (imagine leaving raw sashimi out for a few hours on the counter and then eating it), rib eye steak looked like pork and tasted like accumulated old grease from a chronically dirty cook top/grill, NY steak....have you ever bought choice beef that had been frozen, thawed at the grocery store to be cut for displayed and sold, re-froze it at home, thawed it out completely, decided not to cook it so you threw it back in the freezer again then thawed it out again a few months later and smelled the meat? That smell is exactly what will be in your mouth. The service is just as bad. There's no organization at all so you'll have to stare at each other and your food for a while before you get knives to cut your steak with also. This place gets one star because despite all the main parts being completely horrifying, the only thing good was the French fries that came as a side with the steak and I got a good laugh out of the whole experience because I was just baffled at how bad everything was and how it just kept getting progressively worse. read more

We visited this venue, on our way back from our week long cruise. It was a Friday night, & we were celebrating my father-in-law's 60th birthday. We chose this hotel, because of the restaurant being conveniently located inside. The venue itself was nice, and upscale. Not what I would have pictured in a Holiday Inn, but very pleasantly surprised. The menu had a variety of Asian fusion, American classics, and a little Mexican. Some of the portions are large enough to share. Since there were 7 of us in the group, we were all able to sample a little of everything... Special for the night, was Ribs- Yummm! (FIL ate them ALL) I had the BBQ chicken- Meh- but the potatoes & coleslaw made up for it. Salmon- cooked to perfection! Sesame crusted ahi tuna- OMG, I wanted more...((try this)) Spicy chicken Penne- a solid 4. Overall a pleasant experience! We had Miguel as our waiter, and he was a pleasure to have, and also funny. There really isn't much around this area, so if you want a hotel near the airport & a decent meal, this is your place! read more

Fantastic view of the city lights! Great appetizers! We went there for dinner. The atmosphere was very nice and the food was very good. There is not an extensive "dinner" menu, but there are many other choices which include burgers and salads. The menu is done on a 2 side lamented sheet which brings down the impression of the restaurant. This is a casual restaurant which appears to want a classy label. Get rid of the laminated menu and add fine-dining entrees which do not include french fries and onion rings as their side dishes. I had the prime rib which was delicious, but when served with french fries and onion rings it kind of takes it down a notch! I would definitely go back there again, most likely for lunch! read more

The server was very nice and attentive, but there weren't a lot of customers arriving when we did, so it wasn't very busy. We were a party of four...two older kids. My lobster mac n cheese was watery....yuck. I should've complained, but I didn't get to the middle of bowl until the server had already asked if everything was okay. There was watery sauce pooled at the bottom. My fault for not bringing it to the server's attention, so I'm not complaining about the server at all. The steak skewers were incorrectly described by our server. That was pretty annoying. My daughter got a steak and veggie kabob, and nowhere in the menu did it mention it had vegetables. The server didn't describe it with vegetables. Oh well. We were expecting something like Thai beef satay which is how it was described. My friend and her daughter seemed to like their salmon. Wouldn't go back as the prices aren't cheap considering the food. If the food was better, the prices would've been fine. read more

The view is great! The food is mediocre. I'm glad I came during happy hour because I definitely would have been disappointed. The drinks were ok, I mean $5 for well cocktails is a good deal so I wasn't expecting much. I ordered the garlic fries which was disgusting. It had a pull of oil at the bottom from the fries which I had to take a napkin and dab to soak up the oil. I also got the cheese nachos. The chips were good but they actually use nacho cheese instead of real shredded cheese. Really disappointed.
