I felt rushed by the older woman who was helping us, and she even cut me off mid-sentence. I ordered the grilled chicken club, while my boyfriend ordered a small chili cheese fries. I also ordered three sides of thousand island dressing and a burger patty for our fur baby. My fries were stale and seemed to have been refried. The chicken club itself was decent. Unfortunately, I developed a really bad stomachache afterward that lasted for the rest of the day. Between the service, the food quality, and what I suspect may have been food poisoning, I won't be returning.

The sauce was also rich and flavorful. I made it a combo which includes miso soup and a salad of choice. I selected the cucumber salad which was a little sweet but refreshing with the meal. When I walked into the restaurant to pick up my order, inside was cozy and I noticed that it was pretty busy for a late Tuesday lunch. A really nice young woman who rang me up and handed me my bag of goods. When I got home, I was pleased to see that they had separated the Katsu from the curry sauce, so my meat didn't end up being soggy. Their curry sauce is different from most curry houses. There are some herbs in it that I can't put my finger on, but I love it because it's not like any of the others. Chicken was juicy and rice was fluffy. I also like their kizami ginger which had a nice solid crunch. Even though it took me a while to pick up my food, it was still nice and warm when I sat down to eat it. Very happy with the presentation and the flavour. We'll try to visit and eat at the restaurant next time. Parking lot is small and can get a little crowded with all the other businesses open. But there is also street parking available. Also, because it's a Japanese restaurant, they are not open on Mondays.

The patio is on the sidewalk, which I normally hate because restaurants typically lack in service and ambience when seated outside. Not for Ellie's, service and ambience is even better outside. I find it too stuffy and crowded inside the restaurant.

I've been to The Attic many a time before, never had a bad experience. Needed to write this review to compliment Vernice. She was patient, attentive, super friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

I have never had a bad meal here. Today I had Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni and asked for blackened chicken on the side (we love protein ). It was so fresh, creamy, and cheesy with some Parmesan on top. I usually have the chicken piccata but decided to try this dish today. We also decided on butter cake for a sweet treat after our meal. Our waiter mentioned a lemon cake so of course we had to try that as well. The lemon cake was HUGE! And incredibly delicious. I am not sure if it is a regular menu item but if they mention it while you're there, it is so worth the try! The restaurant can get a little noisy inside but it's manageable. It is always very clean and the staff is really great at taking care of their customers. I would definitely recommend this spot for lunch, dinner, or even just some drinks at the bar.

The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

Bake in some time to find parking! There's both indoor and outdoor seating at this location. This inside is cozy and there's a second room for additional seating. I went on a Thursday night and it was slammed. They do not take reservations but they do have a waitlist via toast that you can join while you walk around and wait for your table. Plenty to do and see on 2nd street. We ordered the party platter for 4 people! It was the perfect amount of food with leftovers to take home. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Our beef was a textbook medium rare and was so juicy and tender, as was the rest of the meat. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, as was all the shawarma. All meats were seasoned beautifully. The rice underneath was stunning as well and really caught all the juices from the meat on top. The roasted tomatoes, onions, and pickles were the perfect compliments to help freshen up the palette during the meal. The sauces were amazing and there was a clear favorite (the garlic sauce) which was annihilated by all four of us. Service was friendly! The restroom was clean and well-decorated (although, not gonna lie, I don't know how I felt about the big mirror facing the toilet). The outside patio area was airy, and although right by the street, I didn't find it unpleasant. Service (3/5): It was just so-so. They sat us down quickly, gave us our menus and checked on us maybe twice. It wasn't super busy, but we had to wait to ask for things like extra plates and water for our dog. Food Overall (5/5): Food was delicious. We got the beef shawarma lunch special and got fries for the side (extra charge) and also the chicken shawarma lunch special with the hummus side. Beef Shawarma (4/5): It had a nice toasty flavor, perhaps from the spices, and the pickled veggies really complemented it. My only complaint was that I wish it had a bit more of the white sauce (maybe adding more hummus would have helped). It was also strangely a bit watery, maybe from the veggies. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.

This spot is slowly coming into VUE for everyone (lol). They have done great things at this location and the remodel and re branding has been on point in transitioning this holiday inn to a contemporary, warm, bright, open space. I used to come here before (the lounge and the restaurant) and it's a whole new world now (just about). Some of the original staff who are still here should catch up with the evolution so that things become more efficient and organized...there are service delays when they really don't make sense and employees are running around a little frazzled and impersonal at times. Beyond that, this is a beautiful location for relaxing, gazing, eating, day dreaming, talking and/or watching the sunset. The crowd is mixed in age and various nights seem to draw different people...the weekend lounge singer has a great voice, energy and is a bit comical and sings things like "I love you baby and if it's quite all right I need you baby" songs to give you perspective. The singer on Wed eves is a young man with an awesome voice, who plays music from Jack Johnson to Prince. Gotta experience it all here at least once...it will be well worth your time! read more

Vue Restaurant & Rooftop is one of my favorite places to go when I'm craving a great dinner with an even better atmosphere. The rooftop views are such a nice bonus, especially in the evening when everything feels cozy, romantic, and relaxed. My absolute favorite dish on the menu is the salmon with risotto. I order it every chance I get because it's just that good. The salmon is always cooked perfectly, and the risotto is rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It's easily my favorite item on the entire menu. My second favorite is the shrimp tempura, always crispy, fresh, and consistently delicious. They also have a really nice bar area if you're looking to grab a drink before dinner or just enjoy the ambiance. Turns out they had a soft opening that turned out to be pretty solid. big nod to the Jalapeno Poppers - clearly hand made, wrapped with bacon ... awesome, that is just very nice food, makes you happy. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese as entree. The flavor of the lobster came through well, and I didn't feel like I was being stuffed with carbs - it was relatively light to my surprise! Brand new renovated Bar & Restaurant with a VIEW that is not to compare in LB...check it out - they have been around for a long time as Panorama Grill - now, it is VUE and I my new favorite spot in LB / Signal Hill area where I work...very cool place. we had a large dinner the other night and a lunch the next day - I think I tried pretty much everything on their menu ;-) - I am a chef and I can vouch for them - they are still in their soft opening phase so they will get only better over the next couple of weeks - however, interior design and food are great and it is a lot of fun to be there... really good Parmesan - chicken sliders (I forgot to take a pic...) and nice Caesar Salad, my wife is vegan and she was very happy to see several options on the menu so she did not have to haggle back and forth with the server and the chef - the citrus kale looked very tasty, even for a carnivore like myself. decent drinks, needs more craft choices in my opinion, food great, service proper. the interior is brand new, that definitely adds to the value. very affordable overall, they offer a good happy hour as well from 2 - 6. we will be back. read more

**Hidden Gem** Service is on another level! Food needs to catch up to the service provided. My husband and I had to check to see if we were really in a Holiday Inn hotel. We were there Sunday night 4/15/18 and had an amazing experience. Chad went over the menu with us since it doesn't have descriptions. He was definitely a reason to come back to this place. We didn't want anything major so started off with a beer and a snack to share. Later found out that they also offer happy hours with food specials as well. Anyways, the menu is limited to a certain extended. We went with the loaded tots. Let me just say, it was loaded and massive. It was perfect for sharing and then some. A major pile of tots with melted cheese, green onions, loads of chunks of bacon and drizzled with ranch dressing. And another side of dressing on the side. Thats like was meal in itself. Quite tasty to say and the chef behind the grill was very sweet as well. Bar area has seats that look out to the bar as well as the kitchen grill. A few seats offers that. It was a sweet little chat with the chef whom mentioned happy hour. The last time I was here we did order a good amount of snacks for sharing which was great. From this experience as well as the last, it was great. The staff were all amazing and friendly. Food was great. Somewhat of a bar snack from what we ordered but a few main entrees that were coming out did look quite tasty. Plus portions were pretty massive. And Jen, a sweetheart and doll. If a restaurant is open and serving customers, the quality of the food should be consistent no matter what time you walk in. After going back and forth, she eventually increased the discount to 50%, but still refused to remove the meal from the bill, even though we barely touched it because it was inedible. We weren't looking for a free meal--we just expected food that matched the quality a restaurant should serve and customer service that takes legitimate concerns seriously. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below those expectations, and I won't be returning.

That's not to say it's all bad though, the prosciutto melon appetizer was savory, and the lasagna and the mushroom ravioli were satisfying! I did order a tiramisu ladyfinger cake which I was a fan of as well. The service could have used some improvement. I don't believe we were offered refills or asked whether anything was needed after we initially received our orders, and it did not seem particularly busy to the point where the waitstaff would be incapable of dropping by. All things considered, La Traviata was enjoyable in some aspects but it was not much to write home about.

I also had one of their specialty drinks, The Rat Pack Martini, made with Grand Marnier, Maker's Mark, sweet vermouth, Cinzano, and a Luxardo cherry. Yummy. I'd come back just to have another one of those. We came with friends to hear the band and ended up having a really great evening.
