So I decided to give Waba Grill a second chance, being that I do drive quite often between L.A. and O.C. This location is super close to my home. Customer service was good. I thought, surely the food service workers would follow the safety food guidelines for food prep? The one in Anaheim really didn't. At this location, everyone had masks on and that's why I gave a second star. But they didn't have gloves on. Nobody. The cashier, the guy cleaning the wall, even the cook. As a food service worker myself, I was required to wear gloves when handling food. I don't understand Waba Grill's aversion to it. Is it not a requirement for this specific company? Do ALL of Waba Grill's locations refuse the gloves? I wish had the balls to be a Karen and cancel my order and demand a refund after I noticed these things. I just hope that my order will not get me or my son sick. I'll have to start cooking at home or stick with other locations who follow food safety protocols. read more

I was amazed at the service given here by all their associates. They are very customer centric. Food was cooked to perfection. All was fresh and tasty. I had always passed by this place, but wasn't quite sure what it was. Then I got a coupon in the mail. So one night when I wanted greasy junky chinese food I searched for a possibly healthier option that could curb the carving and this is what I found. I grabbed my coupon and headed over. The coupons were for rice bowls or plates, and I intended on getting a chicken bowl. But then I saw the chicken veggie bowl and opted for that (because I'm a sucker for broccoli and carrots). So I didn't end up using them. I handed over my $13 for 2 meat/veggie bowls, which seemed like a lot. However, when I was handed over the food it was heavy so I didn't feel too bad about the $13. The carrots and broccoli were perfectly cooked, and I would've loved having more of either one of those rather than the insane amount of cabbage that was packed in there. The chicken was good, and the steak (I stole a bite from the other bowl) was delicious. Realistically, the bowl would've lasted me 2 meals but I pigged out and ate it all. Covina, CA @WaBa. After reading some bad reviews I almost did not stop. But the banner said 2 chicken bowls fir $10.50 caught my attention. The place was a little dirty but that's understandable because it is lunch time. The chicken was good. Nice rice. And super fast service. This WaBa was pumping out the orders quick. This location only received 4 stars from me because I always add the carrot jalapenos and they only had all jalapenos. I asked for carrots and was told they would bring some out to me. After eating 1/2 my bowl I asked again and they added about 10 carrots to the jalapenos. I took about 8 of them and only left them 2. They need to be consistent with the other WaBa Grills. Just came from leaving here and the cashier with blue hair Hilary I believe is here name that is shown on the receipt was very very rude I had asked for a veg and rice bowl and if they could place the veg in a separate container for my toddler and she refused and said she would have to charge me for an extra side??? All I wanted was for the veggies to be separated not for anything extra.. so I had asked the gentleman in the back if they can do that and with no hesitation he had said no problem... which I could tell by her face expression she was very was upset about me asking him.. after while my food was ready I had asked for sauce and she was very rude about me asking about the sauce.. I understand she maybe having a rough day I work in the food industry and in no way I was rude I just asked a question.. but it was very upsetting for me I felt like turning around and getting my money back but I rather not come to this location due to the cashiers attitude. read more

The place was super clean, food fresh and staff beyond friendly. Mishael was both informative and kind. We both got waba bowl and they were able to accommodate our diet restrictions easily. Checked this place out the other night. I got their chicken and steak combo plate. It's a typical Teriyaki plate. I also ordered a miso soup which was 1.50 for just a little 8 oz container. The food was alright, but really not a lot of food for the dollars. Like another reviewer said, the difference of two dollars for a plate and a bowl is just a piece of orange and a little salad. I love this place! I pass by it every day on the way home and have always thought to myself, "hmmmm I should try that". Finally, I did and have been going back at least once a week since. I did try the steak plate. The meat is quite a few steps up from Yoshinoya. The meat is thicker and heartier. However, the beef was just not my thing. What I really enjoy is the salmon plate and the shrimp plate. The salmon is a good sized piece, perfectly cooked and not over seasoned. The shrimp are large shrimps and both the salmon and shrimp always taste fresh. I always opt for the green onion with my meals. I love having stinky breath for the rest of the night and possibly the next morning. The only difference between a plate and a bowl, is the plate comes with a salad and two orange slices The salad is always fresh and crisp and has just the right amount of dressing. At first I found the orange slices odd. But in all actuality, I really in enjoyed the orange at the end of my meal. The plates are quite large and usually only eat half, and take the other half for lunch the next day. I think its reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food. read more

Waba Grill is a cheap knock off of Flame Broiler! The founder and CEO of Waba used to franchise Flame Broilers back in the day. I tried the food here but it sucked. Flame Broiler sauce much better flavor and chicken is much more tender. read more

I just got my salmon bowl and seriously I paid mostly for a bowl of brown rice the salmon fillet was at best 2oz I didn't bother to check the portion while I was there my order was to go and I've eaten at other WaBa grill locations before and order the same salmon bowl and the portion of salmon was more than 41/2oz so that's why I didn't think I had to check out my bowl and make sure there was enough salmon. One thing is for sure I do not recommend this WaBa grill location unless you don't mind paying $7.75 for a bowl of brown rice and 1 or 2oz salmon fillet and I definitely will never go back to this WaBa grill. read more

WaBa is great to begin with; a tastier, healthier alternative to Yoshinoya. This location is perfect because it's just around the corner. It also happens to be brand new, so the interior is clean, it isn't crowded at all, and the staff are extra helpful. Not as quite as good as Flame Broiler, but way healthier than Yoshinoya. NO MSG!! Plus it's pretty cheap and they serve their chicken bowl with a good portion of meat. I always ask for sauce on the side, but it's light enough that I wouldn't even feel guilty finishing a whole bowl with them serving it the way it is. Fast food...yes, they are pretty fast in serving it. But the quality, it's real plate and utensil worthy. The vibe of the restaurant is very causal and the employees are very nice and accommodating to any request I might have. Although, they need to improve on the cleanliness of the sauces area.
