Both meats were cooked right and tasted great . I feel it's maybe a little pricey but it will fill you up . I wish the meat portions were a bit bigger but oh well. The lady at the register wasn't super friendly , she wasn't rude but def just wasn't really that nice either lol . I ordered the Steak Veggie bowl for $8.64. Was greeted with a smile and got my food pretty quick once my number was called. I think it was only like 2-3 minutes wait time. Good presentation. The flavor of the steak was very tasty. It made me reminisce of the times back in college where I used to get chicken teriyaki or beef teriyaki. Also made me think about the times when I used to get teriyaki (Chicken or Beef) at the mall. This was way tastier and more full of flavor. It was also partially due to the Waba sauce that was scattered over it and then the addition of me dipping it in a tub of waba sauce and hot sauce and eating it with rice. Waba sauce had a lot of the soy sauce flavor but it was very flavorful. After I had finished majority of the bowl - I tasted the Waba sauce by itself and then I felt like it was very salty. The vegetables however, I felt was very dry. The broccoli was good but the other vegetables - kind of bland and dry. There was a lot of parking - if you wanted to drive there and this location was recently opened. I honestly have only been here once and I thought the steak was the best thing there. Would probably try again and my opinion may change as I only took a seat near the window since I was eating by myself. But my review was geared mainly towards the bowl itself - in which I think the vegetables could have been served a bit more steamed. This place was okay. I was craving a teriyaki chicken bowl recently so I went here for lunch one day. They have lots of different chicken/beef/veggie combos. You can mix and match as you like. You can even sub veggies for rice for an up charge. I like that they offer brown rice as well. The chicken tasted fresher than most but still had your typical tendon/fatty/hard/chewy pieces in it which was disappointing. They advertise themselves as pretty gourmet so I thought the chicken would be a little better. You can upgrade to chicken breast for extra but I always worry about whether or not it would be dried out. My friend got the beef and he said it tasted only slightly better than the chicken. The sauce was very sweet. I had to add soy sauce to the rice to balance out the flavor. The rice was soft but not as fluffy as I'm used to in a bowl. Overall I would probably go to a different restaurant if I wanted a teriyaki chicken bowl. Just FYI but parking in this center is REALLY bad especially during lunch. read more

I gotta give this place one star. Used to come here 2-3 times a week but the manager plays terrible cover music on the speakers at max volume. It's the same music every. Single.day. You can't order your food without yelling to the cashier and you definitely cannot have a conversation with anyone in the restaurant. Very uncomfortable environment. I can only assume it's so the employees can hear it while making food where it's loud but it's horrible. Oh my goodness. I came here for my 30 minute lunch break. I work around the corner from here. My coworkers told me they serve food fast here... But not when we went. This was about a couple weeks ago, the restaurant was not busy but they took literally our whole lunch breaks to get the food out. 30 minutes is not acceptable for this styled fast food, Im sorry. Then, they even forgot one of our orders. One of the girls was snappy to the other girl working right in front of us. She was rude to her so I am guessing she's a supervisor or a team lead. Also, in the last 2 weeks, I have gone twice. The whole place smells like sewer for some reason, Im not sure if there is a piping issue but its pretty gross to be coming here for food and smelling the bathrooms sewage issues. The service was good. The cashiers were professional and courteous. The food however was very flavorful. Very healthy. The portion size was perfect if you want to loose weight or just eat healthy. Surprisingly the chicken was cooked tender and wasn't salty. The veggies were cooked well but could've used some type of sauce or seasoning. I was here for the 1st time on a Friday about 12:30 for lunch with a friend. We walked so we didn't have to worry about parking which can be tricky at lunchtime. There were a few customers already eating but it wasn't packed. We ordered the veggie chicken rice bowls and two drinks. One star off for gal who took our order who wasn't friendly at all. A bad day for her perhaps? Anyway, the food came out about 10 minutes later and it was delicious. The WaBa sauce is excellent (I used two packets which made the flavor perfect). My bowl had brown rice, chicken, broccoli and carrots in it plus a brown teriyaki sauce on the chicken. This location can be pretty crazy around lunch. Like most places in Kearney Mesa the parking is a war zone between 11:30 and 1:00 daily. The food always tastes fresh and today was no exception. Ordered the WaBa rice bowl with veggies. The veggies were fresh and crisp. the chicken/steak were cooked just right. Threw on some soy sauce and WaBa hot sauce. Right at $10 with a bottled water and a full satisfying feeling for the afternoon. Hard to beat. Would be 5 stars if not for the disastrous parking situation. Maybe not fair to hold the restaurant responsible but it does take away from what would be a great meal under $10. read more
