    WaBa Chicken & Steak Bowl
    Michelle G.

Oh man, I really wanted to like this bowl. The sauce is the only redeeming quality to help mask the taste..neither meat tasted fresh in any capacity. I had to slather it in sauce & even then it still didn't taste great. Unfortunately, didn't even finish the meat but I did eat the rice. Probably will not be trying this bowl again.

Pretty good food. The dumplings and chili sauce were really tasty. I liked the spicy chicken but there didn't seem to be a ton of it. For the value meal I think it was worth it.

Great service from Joana, very polite and quick to get your food out. The place is very clean and friendly workers all around. I like the music that's playing. I'm sure I'll be back for more!

My first time at Waba grills in years and it's just the same as I remember it, average food at a decent price. Food: I got the tofu plate to go and was surprised by the relatively large portion. The tofu did not have enough flavor and the rice was plain too so the waba sauce and hot sauce were definitely needed. It came with a small side salad and refreshing fresh orange slices too. Service: Food was ready quickly and easy to pick up too! They offered utensils, chopsticks and plenty of condiments too.

This location is pretty mid compared to other Waba Grills I go to. This will probably be my last time going to this location. I order two bowls and in one I found plastic wrap in my food and in the other bowl I found, I'm guessing, a piece of steel wool. The steel wool cut the top of my boyfriend's mouth and his mouth started bleeding. Be careful if you eat here.

The food here is pretty good, my bowl was a bit bland, but tasted better after I added waba sauce & chili. I ordered the mini combo, which is a mini bowl with your choice of protein, 5pc dumplings and a drink. The portion was just right for me and not bad for $7.99 +tax. My husband order the chicken & steak combo, which he liked This location is convenient for me as it's by work, so I'd come back again.

A little messy but tolerable to eat.

First time here and this place is ok. Customer service today is great, staff are friendly. Not as tidy inside. Food tasted ok, generous amount. There's that smell when you get inside, not quite pleasant especially in the restaurant field. Good thing we ordered over the phone for pick up. Absolutely more room for improvement because the food is not bad.

The food was amazing and really healthy. The service was also really fast. The restraunt was clean, and there were a lot of tables.

It's in a plaza with a ton of other restaurants, so just know parking can be a little chaotic. I went on a Wednesday around 5:30PM and still found parking pretty easily, but I can see it getting rough later. The place itself is on the smaller side, but they fit a good amount of seating. Every time I pass by it never looks super packed and even this time it wasn't that busy. I ordered ahead through their website, which was smooth, but when I walked in the cashier didn't see my order at first. I showed her my confirmation text, she checked with the kitchen and let me know it was still being prepared. She was super kind about it, so no issue there. I sat and waited and it ended up being around 20 minutes, which felt a little long for just two items, but not terrible. There was also a moment where a group came in and no one was at the front, so they asked me how ordering worked. We both just assumed you scan the QR code at the table and order from there, which probably explains why there isn't always someone upfront. A little confusing at first, but it is what it is. Once my food was ready, it was packaged really nicely. I had about a 25 minute drive home and everything stayed warm, which is honestly the best part about good takeout. Popcorn Chicken ($9.50) This might be the best popcorn chicken I've had in San Diego, especially for the price. You get big pieces, like actual chicken, not just fried coating. The seasoning is kind of addicting, a little sweet, a little salty, savory, with a slight kick. Super fragrant too with green onions mixed in. The sauce tasted like a cilantro jalapeño crema, almost taco vibes, which sounds random but it worked really well. And the shredded cabbage at the bottom soaking up all that extra seasoning... so good. Only thing is I wish some pieces were a little crispier and more golden, but still really really solid. Spicy Shrimp Wontons (8 pcs, $10.80) These come in a soy, vinegar, chili oil sauce that's super balanced. The wontons themselves are a bit smaller and don't have a ton of filling, so price-wise it's a little eh. But the sauce carries. After sitting in it during my drive home, I thought it would be too salty, but it actually soaked in perfectly. The color got darker and richer and the flavor still stayed balanced. Overall, this place is honestly solid. The menu isn't huge, more focused on noodles, dumplings, and apps, but based on what I had, they do it well. I'll definitely be back to try more, but that popcorn chicken alone is already enough reason to come back.

Go and give them a try. Oh and most of the ordering is done through your phone. Interesting. Just want to mention that parking is very difficult at this location. I suggest going early or try and find street parking.

My go-to order is the Black Pepper US Wagyu Beef with Udon Noodles -- I've tried other dishes, but nothing hits the same way. The flavor, the sauce, the noodles... perfection. Their creamy soup is also a must-try and only around $3 -- so good. The ambiance is super nice and spacious, perfect for casual dates or dinner with friends. Overall, food is a 10,000/10 for me -- definitely one of my favorite spots!

It is sooo good and unlike any other bossam I've had before. It's thinner and the edges were chewy. Sooo tasty and with the garlic, green onion, and jalapeno it's literally the perfect bite. The ddukbokki was solid too. Rice cakes had lots of flavor and I love fish cake. It was a tad bit too sweet for me though. I didn't really like the chadol yukdaejang, the flavor wasn't really for me, and I don't love clear noodles. Banchan is a bit of a hit or miss. Sometimes it doesn't look fresh. Once I walked in, I immediately saw it's the perfect late-night hangout with such a great vibe. It's styled like a cozy Korean pojangmacha pub, K-pop tracks playing nonstop, and the lighting sets such a nice mood. The three of us ordered bossam, and it was absolutely incredible!! The pork belly had the perfect balance of fat and lean meat--it's their signature dish for a reason. I couldn't stop giving it thumbs up This dish alone guarantees I'll be coming back for more. We also got spicy beef soup, which was rich, hearty and delicious, plus cold noodle soup. The cold noodles were decent but nothing mind-blowing. Next time I want to try classic Korean comfort foods like seafood pancake and cheesy spicy stir-fried chicken. Corn cheese is another highly recommended item here too. Our three dishes totaled $71, around $24 per person--pretty reasonable, and we left completely stuffed. It was only 10:30 when we headed out, and there was already a line forming out the door. This place is definitely super popular!
