DJ was one of the worst waiters I have come across. We had to ask for drinks 3 times, he only brought us forks, had to ask for a knife for jelly, he dropped jelly in my tea, spilled tea on my daughter toast- we had to ask for a replacement, his math was horrible- tried charging us an extra $3- had to ask the manager to recheck the math, my husband asked for a patty melt plate and was only brought the sandwich. Yes, you see correctly. I am giving Waffle House, this particular location of Waffle House, a five-star review. Allow me to explain. While traveling I try my best to frequent eateries not available in my hometown. For some reason unbeknown to me, El Paso, Texas, has not ONE Waffle House. I could go on and on about how unfair that is but....I digress. We headed to this Waffle House around the lunch hour which had me preparing for a long wait or a backup plan. Few things are as uncomfortable as waiting for a table at a small diner. Well, we show up and it's pretty empty. Yay for us!! Then our server takes our orders immediately. We'll, almost, because we had to review them first but I mean she was ready, not to mention uber nice. Believe it or not, we get our plates in about 5 minutes after our drinks. Think about it, by this timestamp, we had parked, walked in, sat, had our drinks and plates in about 12 minutes. I kid you not! One of the few times we are not in a rush. Go figure. Oh, and the food? Well it was as you would expect - hot, filling, and yummy. Those waffles! My final point of review is the cost. As if everything I have mentioned so far was not enough, the total bill was super affordable. I am talking comparable to the Golden Arches affordable if not better. I love this place. Been here a few times and I know that it's not a 5 star restaurant and no one should expect it here. It's the Waffle House for pit's sake. People comment here as if they walked into a Michelin star restaurant and found the Waffle House. Always.... Always friendly service and if you come on Sunday when church is out, expect to wait for a seat. It is very busy and the locals keep coming here because the service is good and you know what to expect when it comes to food every time, all the time. Eggs, toast, maybe a steak and definitely a waffle. Coffee is good and when it's so busy then you should know it'll take a minute for someone to fill your cup. Anyway, people can complain all day long when they can't do what these guys do for living. I have been coming to this Waffle House for 5 years now and I have yet to be disappointed, from the amazing customer service to the delicious food. Its always fast and they greet you and make you feel welcome. We recently went a few days ago my husband, newborn, and I and had Miss Jamie as a server and she was the absolute best so sweet. Yikes! When Jon G. and I decided to use our free waffle cards, we chose this location. This was my first time at Waffle House and I had hoped for a better experience. We sat up at the counter and took a look at the menu. Everyone working here seemed frazzled and disorganized. If I had to guess, I would say that the cook called out and everyone got shifted around, which left everybody confused. Jon got some hash-browns all done up and a burger. I got the steak and eggs. We also got a waffle each. The lady calling out the orders seemed unsure of herself. She called out Jon G.'s order incorrectly, as well as the gentleman seated next to us. Eventually she got it right and our food arrives. We are both surprised to see that the Burger they gave Jon was just a cooked party on a plate. No bun? No nothing? When we brought it up, the lady looked embarrassed and said "it has been one of those days." Overall, food wasn't bad. My biggest complaint would be my unevenly slices tomatoes. Definitely everything is swimming in butter and there are lots of carbs, your basic diner food experience. I liked the layout and the simple menu. Coffee here was also not bad. Waited for at least 30-45 min and couldn't even get served drinks while 6 other tables who walked in after me got their drinks and some even got their food. This location is either understaffed or poorly managed. Mentioned to a waitress not being served at all yet and waited 5 minutes after that and still saw no one trying to at least get our drinks. When we got there the food wasn't ready because of problems with people calling in big orders and not showing so it was all understood. He ordered a patty melt with extra patty & no bacon, hash browns smothered (onions), covered (cheese), chunked (diced ham) & peppered (jalapeños). I ordered the cheese & egg breakfast, with the eggs being soft scrambled (then explained I wanted them creamy still), w/ hash browns & onions, pecan waffle. The server came by our table again twice before realizing she hadn't brought us our waters or coffees. My brother was facing the kitchen & said he saw the girl/cook throw out 2 batches of scrambled eggs & try a 3rd. We wondered if they were the soft scrambled eggs I ordered. When the server brought out our food, we knew things weren't correct. There was no cheese on my eggs nor onions on my hash browns. She kept saying the eggs had cheese as it was melted in & she could see but I said the yellow she sees is yolk not cheese. The eggs also came out totally cooked in one rubbery piece. I flipped it over & no cheese anywhere. They forgot the onions on my brother's patty melt & they forgot all the toppings that was to go on his hash browns. He let them fix his plate but I declined to give them back the plate because I didn't want to argue with the server about what cheese looks or tastes like, what creamy eggs look or feel like, what sautéed onions shoulda gone on the hash browns. I was later given a plain waffle instead of pecan. The server apologized saying it was so busy & she's still new. There were maybe 3 other tables in the whole place. read more

Let me start off by saying that I've been going to Waffle House for years with no issues. They've always been great. But the Waffle House on N Beach street is AWFUL & I will never go there again. IHOP down the street will now be gaining my business and Waffle House has officially lost it. First, we called in our order to pick it up, because on Sunday's Waffle House is always overly crowded. We get there, starving at this point, and tell them our name for the order. The lady goes and picks up our bags, then sets it back down and continues to talk to her co workers instead of handling our check out. We wait another 15 mins even though our meal is ready and sitting across the counter from us. Fine, they're busy, whatever. Then, we check out and they apologize for the wait. We go put the bags in the car and I notice we didn't get our chocolate milk and orange juice. Walk back in less than a minute later and tell them they forgot to give us our drinks. They then refuse to give us the drinks we had already paid for. We show them the receipt (which by the way- Waffle House needs to ring up items as they are called not as just how much with no description). Since their receipts don't say what you got, they only ring up as money values with no description, she refused to give them to us without paying for the drinks AGAIN. So, we ended up paying $10 for TWO DRINKS ($5 twice), spent 30 minutes trying to get our two person order, and the next 30 minutes frustrated. Not to mention, after the food sat in the bags forever, when we got to eat it, it was GROSS AND SOGGY. If you're a Waffle House lover, AVOID N BEACH STREET! Go to another location or down the street to IHOP. They handle your business much better and they value your loyalty- unlike Waffle House apparently. read more

I hate Waffle House in general but this one want too bad. Facility: clean & friendly servers. Tables are too small and they give you tons of useless plates. Food: I ordered cheese & egg which wad just ok. The cheese was American, toast was stale & the bacon was over cooked. I also didn't care for the hash browns since they are cooked on the outside of the pasty but not the inside. Coffee came late & all or food didn't not come on time. Where to start?? First we were in the mood for a hamburger and this is the closest place that has hamburgers to our work. My friend said they had a cheesesteak sandwich that is good, so we stopped. We placed our order, mine with the onions it comes with and add jalapeño. My friend no onions and add lettuce and tomato. We listened as the waitress called the order and it did not sound right so we tried to talk to her about our request. She assured us she did it correct. We got our food quickly, positive, a star for speed. My friend checked hers before we left and hers had onions! Back to the grill and remake. So while they started to remake hers the staff was busy blaming each other for the miscommunication. I asked if mine was made correct and of course they said yes. Not that I don't trust others, but I checked myself and I was smart for checking. Mine had jalapeño but no onions. Back to the grill with more chatter among the staff. Another negative is that they did not have any "to go" utensils. The second star was for kindness on my part. By the time we got back to work to eat it before our next meeting, it tasted okay. Or we were hungry. Either way, one star for flavor. The jalapeños were actually spicy. The place was dirty the table had food under the pretty menus The floor was filthy and this was 7:30 in the morning ... I ordered a Waffle with a side of Eggs that was it .. The waffle was underdone and not looking anything like the picture you post ...and the gal handled it without her little plastic gloves on . I ate at this Waffle House on Monday March 26th 2018. I went into the men's room and discovered the toilet was filthy, as if it had not been cleaned in a week. After I was done I went out and informed the waitress who waited on me and told her the toilet was filthy in the men's room. She replied, " Oh really." And then as I spent a few more minutes finishing up and paying there were three employees including my waitress just sitting around talking doing nothing and no one made a move to clean that filthy toilet. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. I was really excited about going back to a Waffle House. My wife and I walked in, and there were no other customers. Waitress came to take our order, and then the nightmare began. I ordered the super star meal and asked for hashbrowns instead of grits and an extra egg. So, three eggs, over medium. First sign of failure, the cook did scrambled eggs. Server caught the mistake, and fixed it, no problem there but then, it got worse. While he was re doing my eggs he dropped the waffles. My wife asked for pecan waffle with strawberries, mine was supposed to be plain. He did hers right, but put strawberries on mine. Server caught that, and dropped another waffle, plain. When it was done, however, it was stuck to the waffle iron, so she had to do that over. By this time I had received my 2 eggs, bacon, toast, and grits. I reminded the server that I had requested hashbrowns, not grits, and 3 eggs, not 2. So, third egg was started, and the hashbrowns. By this time a couple more customers had arrived. I finally got my third egg and hashbrowns, and the time went off for my waffle. My server almost got into a fight with another over my waffle. We heard then arguing. Mine won, but by then the rest of my food was gone, and I was getting close to losing my s#!t. The server was a sweetheart, and apologized for all the screw ups, but by the time we left, I was just incredibly annoyed. I won't abandon Waffle House, but I'll never return to this one. read more
