I had not been in Waffle House for a while but had a taste for a waffle. I know inflation has everyone changing but Waffle House, or at least the location on 4601 Old Gentilly Rd. in New Orleans, has taken it to another level. The price has increased, as expected, but I expected to get a waffle and not a pancake. The waffles (3) were so thin, they couldn't hold butter or syrup in the divots. My waffles were as thin as their slices of bacon. What is the point of a waffle if it can't hold onto butter or syrup? I guess I will go to IHop and order pancakes instead.

    Burnt ass toast

The food was absolutely terrible the toast is burnt ALL THE TOAST IS BURNT, the grits were OILY AND SOUPY HOW YOU MAKE SOUPY GRITS????? Everything was just soggy and honestly made me no longer hungry, I wouldn't even give this to my dog... Terrible terrible service.... NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I had not been to waffle house in years i guess because they always look so ruin down on the outside but this one was crowded and we went on. I was surprised it was nice and clean, the staff was very nice and friendly and waited on you promptly. Took our order, everything was just the way we asked...very impressed, it was fresh and tasted good

I was craving a solid NOLA style shrimp po-boy. This place seemed to have great reviews, especially on the shrimp po-boy. So I set off heart set on this amazing thing I was about to get to taste! I ordered, paid extra for the fries, the anticipation was building as the place was cute with its 1950's-esque decor and design. When I finally got my food I was Pavlov's dog..... but then it happened. Hearbreak! This was the saddest driest sandwich EVER!! No Cajun, no spice, no New Orleans soul! Just sad dried Sammy with some shrimp in it! I legit had to use the ranch from my fries to breathe flavor into it! Whelp! Thanks you guys I left NOLA with a list for a seriously good po-boy!! 100% not recommend

We came on a Sunday morning and were seated right away, plus we lucked out with street parking right out front, which felt like a small miracle! It's definitely a cozy, tight space, but the staff navigates it with impressive ease. Our server, Cristel was incredibly sweet and personable, and the whole team moved with such efficiency that it added to the homey vibe. I ordered the Camp Street Original omelette, and it was delicious. The potatoes threw me off though as they called it "hashbrowns" lol. The bartender also made a fantastic café au lait. It was rich, smooth, and exactly what I wanted. My only regret is not getting to try their famous biscuit, but that just means I have a reason to come back! A classic New Orleans spot that feels loved, lived-in, and definitely worth the visit!

I added hash browns and bacon. 4 pieces of bacon in a side order and it was nice and crispy. The hash browns were patty similar to the frozen kind you can buy, not sure if they came in a box frozen or not but they were served nice and crispy. You have to wait in line to order/pay so depending on how difficult the group(s)/people(s) orders are ahead of you, will dictate how fast this process will go. The place is much bigger than I initially expected. There are 2 floors with seating. It would be hard to accommodate a large party but there's plenty of seating. I live the old 80's/90's theme and decor. Such a great throwback. We ordered 2 drip coffees (you get them in a to-go cups but you can get free refills), and the Grand Slam McMuffin. Both were great. Wish the sandwiches were bigger for the price you pay. $11.50 for a breakfast sandwich is pretty steep, but it's the price you pay considering everything is homemade. I would also like to point out that there is a discrepancy on the price of adding an egg. The menu says it's $2 more but we were charged $2.50. They should really update their menu or be upfront about it. Overall a great place to have a great breakfast. * Please note that you're not allowed to have someone save a table while another waits in line to order. You must order first before being allowed to take a table.

It also looks like a local hangout with their very comfortable bar. The team here is very friendly and like all places in New Orleans... always looking to help. We were traveling with our friends, which we do often and we're very predicable on what we order for breakfast. Our server came right over to the table to bring us water and take a drink order. After a very quick turn-around she was back with our coffees and we were ready to order. Over easy eggs and potatoes French toast VERY well done friend eggs Over easy with sausage Eggs Benedict (or any variation you have.) All was good. All was fresh and what needed to be hot was. What more could you ask for? We tend to get to breakfast fairly early so it wasn't too busy, but people were coming in through our meal and the place was filling up quickly. I love coming to restaurants where they have a good flow of customers and their regulars. KUDOs to the team at Streetcar Cafe.

The fried 'seafood' platter contains farm-raised imported shrimp, farm-raised imported Swai (a foreign garbage-eating pond-raised fish), and farmed oysters for $26. No thanks. Ok. Switching to gumbo. Uh, their 'gumbo' is a thin broth with virtually no solid ingredients besides white rice. A very few minuscule shreds of chicken and maybe a 6-8 tiny cubes of some tasteless sausage for $17. It did come with a nice biscuit. Be aware of what's being served. Stick to the well-known real-deal restaurants. Not everything is what it claims to be. Nothing real about this ripoff. We'll never go back to this tourist trap.

It's always nice to find a place that offers a little something different instead of the usual tourist fare. I went with the Shrimp Carbonara, and the portion size was impressive. The dish was loaded with large, juicy shrimp and packed with flavor. It was one of those meals that looks great when it arrives and somehow tastes even better once you dig in. The service was quick, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly, which was appreciated after a day of exploring. My only minor critique--and this is purely personal preference--would be that I would have preferred the shrimp tails removed. It certainly didn't take away from the meal, though. In fact, it led to one of the funniest moments of the trip when I squeezed a tail to remove it and accidentally launched it across the table toward one of my buddies. Thankfully, my aim was terrible, but the table got a good laugh out of it. Great food, generous portions, fast service, and a fun atmosphere. If you're looking for a solid meal while in New Orleans, Red Dog Diner is definitely worth a visit.
