my family took me there last night for my birthday, and I have to tell you from the waiter the tall, bald gentleman to appetizers and food is the best meal that we've ever had and I can't even say how long it was so enjoyable it was out of this world and we definitely will be back and tell anybody that wants a good meal. They need to go to walkers. You both do a great job. Right down to the presentation and our waiter was extraordinary. He was just superb. Walkers has been a favorite of mine and my husbands for a few years now and we were not disappointed yesterday! We took our friend for her birthday and had the best experience, the staff was sweet, the vibe was cozy, and the food was delicious. We started with the crab rangoons - a must - and then moved on to our entrees. Three of us shared a bottle of wine from their incredible wine list and one of us had a mocktail that they loved. For my main I had the wood fire pork dish was so good, but the thing to die for was the cheddar mashed potatoes. I will dream about them for days! Someone else got the duck, which is a fav! Our plans kept changing and we updated our reservation twice, but Walkers staff were helpful and accommodating. We sat outside for the first time and were pleasantly impressed by the outdoor ambiance. The duck entree was the best my bf has ever had and he's very critical. I really wanted to be blown away. But the truth is, I wasn't. First the staff is incredibly friendly and the restaurant is gorgeous. Those were the best parts. Instead of specials, two of the regular menu items were changed entirely. My guest had her heart set on one of the fatalities but there were other delicious descriptions to choose from. The cocktails were sweet and took too long. By the time I received my second cocktail of the evening my dinner was over. The duck looked amazing. I asked about it but was steered toward a chicken dish which was heavy in flour, lacked crisp and was seemingly void of any seasoning though certainly beautifully presented. We were served tea with a container full of Splenda and sweet and low but not one sugar. The tres leches cake was a dry disappointment. The donut dessert would have been the way to go. Overall I had much higher hopes but will try again. read more

Decided on calamari for a starter and told the bartender. He asked what we wanted for an entree. We said we're not sure yet. He said the chef wants customers to order everything at once. I said no, we're not ready. He said I'll give you a few more minutes. I said sure but we'll have the calamari now. He left and returned to tell us they'll make an exception this time. As if to say, he is doing us a big favor, but then it won't happen again. The pure arrogance of a chef and a bartender telling us when and how to order and then treating a customer like a child. This is York, not New York. By the way, the calamari was very average. Not a lot of taste. You can get much better calamari at Atlantic Grill in Rye or a dozen other places. 3 of us ordered cosmopolitans. We had to send them back as they were too sour. I ordered the hamburger with French fries. For a burger , it was just okay. I couldn't eat the French fries as they tasted like they opened the salt shaker and emptied it on my fries. I would NOT recommend this Resturant ever, nor will I ever return there!!!!!! The ambiance was fabulous with a big and bold wallpaper accent wall and beautiful lighting. We had a very nice table near the fire and enjoyed the variety of options on the menu. This place has gone down the rubes ob so many levels. My fiancé' bit into a giant blue plastic wrapper in the middle of his steak! The staff did NOTHING for us. Charged us full price for everything, except the entree after we confronted them, he left bc he was nauseous, and not even our drinks were comp'd. The bathroom stalls are slapped together by an idiot hack carpenter , with screws sticking out everywhere, could they put some effort into the interior design? Super tacky. It used to be one of my favorite places, now i will never go back and never recommend to any of my guests at my hotel. read more

Love this place! The bar area is beautiful and really cozy with a fireplace. The pumpkin fries are seasonal but a must if you visit in the fall and the cauliflower melted in our mouths. The atmosphere was great for a small group dinner or a quiet date for two. The first thing you notice when you walk in is aroma of wood burning - kind of like fire place - in reality it the wood fired open grill they cook their food on (see the picture). Once seated, the staff offered a selection of cocktails, wine or water (flat or sparking) Now the fun begins! The menu is simple and pretty straight forward. Don't let that fool you. Each offering is an amazing culinary treat. The preparation (most involving open wood fire) amplifies the already scrumptious flavors with a smoked accent. To my surprise, everything tasted better as a result! We had the salmon, the pork chop (warning - its almost too big to finish!), the ricotta, and the beets I would recommend each as they were all delicious Save room for the desserts. The ambience and service were outstanding! only to be exceeded by the food. The unassuming exterior opens to a warm friendly large dining room to the left and an intimate bar area to the right. From the greeting by the friendly and knowledgeable hostess to the welcome and detailed explanation of the food items by the waitstaff, it is clear that a fine dining experience awaits you. WARNING If you have any respiratory issues, do not sit in the bar when the fireplace is in use. The smoke from the fireplace is almost overwhelming. I wouldn't say it should be a total no recommendation as the service and food were fine - we sat in the bar and our waitress was delightful - had the burgers which were fine although a bit greasy. I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but I am now washing everything I wore to the restaurant because of the smoke from the fireplace. I guess it would be fine in the summer when the patio is open, but I could not eat inside again - the whole restaurant smells of smoke. read more

This further urges me to recommend others to NOT COME HERE. They clearly know there is an issue with wait time, service (despite having what appears like more servers than guests at times) and do not care to fix it. Have to say very disappointed...sat at the bar absolutely noooo service at all. the two bartenders were overwhelmed with the service bar that they couldn't wait on the customers sitting in front of them, everyone sitting there was complaining, bartender asked me if I wanted silverware 20 min after I already ate, very frustrating..menu was limited, food was average....wouldn't go back. The first time we had dinner here a couple of years ago it was wonderful. The service, appetizers, main course and dessert was excellent. We decided to return and do not think it is worth it any more. I am not sure what changed but the food quality for the price was disappointing. The short ribs portion was extremely small and they were mostly fat. The portion for the price was outrageous. The chicken though ok the vegetables and fixings on the side did not go well together. Food and service are both impeccable. Watching them cook over an open fire is amazing. Prices are very reasonable, portions are more than enough. I had the Thai chicken, which everyone loved. I am completely blown away every time I come here. Probably the most consistently excellent restaurant I have ever been to! I really get excited when my GF suggests we go here as I know I am going to get a great meal. So last time we were here I was deciding on the steak or the BBQ pork. So I wind up with the steak as my GF suggested she get the pork and I get the steak and I could have some of her pork. The only let down I have ever had here was that she loved the pork so much she devoured it and I only had a few small pieces. LOL. Next time there is no chance I get anything but the pork! Just had a great dinner at walkers for their Chinese pop up meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing. We stumbled upon this place as one of the only options open, not thinking of our friend having a shellfish allergy and the use of oyster sauce in Chinese food. The whole staff, including our server Dustin and the chef went above and beyond to cater to us and her allergy. They brought out a special appetizer and then made a tofu curry soup special for her compliments of the chef. This gesture was incredibly thoughtful.
