After years of dealing with texture changes from overuse of lasers, acne scarring, and even filler that left my skin uneven, I genuinely thought I had reached the end of possible solutions. I've seen multiple well-known dermatologists, tried every treatment category (including several types of lasers), and nothing made a meaningful difference, until I came here. Dr. Tzu took a very thoughtful, individualized approach from the start. We began with dissolving residual filler and two targeted subcision sessions to address the tethering that was contributing to my uneven skin texture. From there, we transitioned to microneedling - and this is where everything shifted. I'm only three sessions in, and the difference is already dramatic. The website indicated that Dr. Tzu is very accomplished and experienced in subscision. While this was one of the primary reasons I went to her, I did not expect my other questions to go ignored (e.g. what moisturizer would be efficacious with excessively dry skin). Due to the positive reviews, I was beyond surprised by the treatment I received. Dr. Tzu did not have a calm or kind demeanor. She fixated on a scar on my left temple when I already indicated my concern for the mild acne scarring on my right temple. She also did not use any tools or lighting to achieve a better look, and I had to ask for a mirror. She stepped out to search for one and became more agitated as the appointment went on. I stated upfront I was not interested in fillers or Botox. To my dismay, she chose to mention them repeatedly. I felt she was trying to upsell like others have stated. When I didn't bite, she pointed out other "imperfections" on my face such as rosacea, (something I did not know I had and no other doctor has acknowledged) and mentioned she had a laser that could get rid of them. Dr. Tzu informed me that this procedure was permanent when simple research indicated otherwise. The biggest shock came when she stated I needed four sessions for my mild acne scarring and quoted me over $10k. In addition, I was taken aback by the lack of cleanliness including the various stains and rust spots on appliances in the examination room. There was no mirror, no hooks or chairs to place my belongings so I placed them on the floor. I was given the strong understanding that Dr. Tzu was more concerned about monetary gain rather than patient health and satisfaction. This consultation cost me $300. Had I known, I would have sought a more compassionate and professional doctor. read more

If you are suffering from acne scars please look no further!! After being fed up with the noticeable rolling scars on both my cheeks from a bad cystic acne breakout, I made a consultation. Dr. Tzu was extremely thorough and explained all my options to me, why certain options would work better than others, how much improvement I should expect, etc. I decided to go with one round of pulse dye laser to treat my discoloration, followed by subcision. I had an immediate, noticeable improvement in the look of my acne scars from just one round of subcision. Even my partner commented how much better my skin looked! I will need a few more rounds to achieve optimal results, but I'm really optimistic given how my skin looks just after one. I also had a round of microneedling done to smooth out my skin and it was a completely painless and pleasant experience overall. Office is professional and clean and everyone is very friendly. So i can't comment on results yet but if you think you've tried subcision for acne scars and it was not with Dr. Tzu chances are you probably haven't. I've had scars starting from about 17 years ago with new ones occasionally forming ever since then. i have tried everything under the sun including rounds of subcision from experts -- nothing comes even remotely close to what i just experienced with dr. tzu. wall street derm definitely gets an A+ so far for effort and i'm really hoping the results follow. first dr tzu starts off taking the most detailed pictures i've ever had a doctor take before a procedure. i would say we spent roughly an hour taking photos. my scars vary in depth with the majority of them not being visible unless under very specific lighting scenarios - dr. tzu took the time to document them all. she even turned off the lights and took out the flashlight. seriously - so different than the 20 plus other doctors i've seen over the years. super impressive. next she numbed me for an hour or so then spent another two to three hours on the actual subcisions. this was mind blowing to me - never ever has a doctor so meticulously performed this procedure. in the past it would be 20-30 minutes tops end to end and done. fingers crossed the time spent will pay off in results! i will keep this review updated :) --- 3/17 update! my procedure was done on 2/3/23 so it's been a bit over a month -- i wanted to share a bit about my results. the two *very* noticeable *new* scars have improved dramatically. could end up after just this one session in the 80%+ improvement range for both. :) the key, i think, is in treating them early. the older scars have some improvement too! not as drastic but definitely had some improvement. i'm going to keep on this journey and will continue to share my results. fingers crossed read more

But I do wish that if you've gone through that, like I have, you go straight to Dr. Julia Tzu to fix it. I've been to a spectrum of doctors and other "medical professionals". Where I went through operations ranging from microdermabrasions, to lasers, to chemical peels, to fillers. There was a time I received fillers by a more discounted doctor...that lead to visiting doctors to fix the mistakes made by the discount doctor. After all this the results were eventually beneficial but gradually. The quickest results, and the best money spent, have been with Dr. Julia. She's worth the money. And getting your face back is worth your money...it has been for me. It's been years and years since high school. After my visit here the other day, I've officially coined Dr. Tzu my new go-to dermatologist. The office is sleek, clean and modern looking. I've been to some super sketch doctors offices before and this was an absolute breath of fresh air. Beautiful white and silver leather couches and chairs, lots of plants and chandeliers on the walls. I definitely didn't mind hanging around for a few extra minutes in this waiting room. I went in for a routine skin check and Dr. Tzu was extremely patient and consultative, not like most other doctors who make you feel completely rushed. She did a very thorough job and made sure to answer all of my questions and address all of my concerns. The rest of the staff at the office was also extremely pleasant and easy to deal with. Dr. Tzu overcharges and rips you off. She charges more the 2x what other doctors in the same area charges for botox. Taking advantage of a client's lack of knowledge and experience with botox is low. I will now be going to a different doctor going forward. There's a reason she's been working in that office/area for years and still only has 36 reviews. I was looking for a female dermatologist near my office for a routine skin check when I found Dr Tzu. During the screening. she discovered a spot on my nose that after testing, came back as skin cancer. She thorougly explained my options and a few days later we agreed that she would perform Mohs surgery on it. I was very happy to have it removed and even happier that it left a barely noticeable scar. In fact, at a later visit to the office Dr. Tzu asked if she could take a picture of it but was unable to because you couldn't see it! I will never let anyone other than Dr. Tzu touch my face again! I am currently seeing Dr. Tzu for acne scar treatments, I travel 2 hours to see her and the trips are so worth it! After just one subcision treatment, I saw so much improvement in my acne scarring that is over 10 years old. I truly had lost hope and thought I would just have to live with the scarring forever until I had my first subcision treatment done and I couldn't believe how much improvement I saw in my scars.
