Dropped in for a quick lunch today with high expectations. The restaurant itself is nice and inviting but the food left us seriously underwhelmed. I had the lobster roll which was not what I was expecting at all...it was basically cold mayo based salad with a small amount of lobster on flavorless bread. It was served with potato chips which weren't anything special...not what I expected for $27. I could've gone to Jason's deli and had a much more satisfying and flavorful sandwich with chips for half that price. My husband ordered the Italian beef sandwich (also served with potato chips) which was a bit better in the flavor dept but the meat was dry and the au jus it was served with was almost too salty to eat. Perhaps the dinner entrees would be better but honestly we won't be back to find out...there are too many other great seafood restaurants out there. read more

I had the crab dip which was served very quickly and very hot....followed by a Red fish bouillabaisse containing lobster meat and mussels. Both starter and Entree' was exceptional, worth the prices at this level of food prep, service, and quality. Also the bartenders are true cocktail artists and move quickly to meet everyone's needs timely. The establishment itself is wonderfully decorated and a super fun environment at night. Food is very good. We tried a variety of items including the redfish which was very good, the short rib which was fantastic and the redfish balls which are a must Service was fantastic. Very, very nice restaurant. Excellent and friendly service. Terrific ambiance. Now I'll talk about their Trout Amandine...the absolute best I've ever had! The menu has many interesting things to order, but I'm not certain I can go there and not eat the Trout Amandine (I'll try). We ate Sunday lunch with our daughter and son-in-law and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience. Adam greeted us and seated us. Later he checked back with us and as we left he walked with us out the door. Seth was our server and he was great. I ordered tha Trout and the lemon butter made it special. Our daughter and son-in-law both enjoyed the grilled Salmon. My wife thought the redfish was excellent. All four of us enjoyed our meals. read more

I went to Walloon's for lunch one day after my boss suggested it and loved it so much I came back a week later! The atmosphere is so pleasant and enjoyable and just the right amount of lively. It was not too loud, but it was still bustling. Our waiter, Charles, was so attentive, helpful, and patient with us. He made excellent recommendations that we loved. The food is just amazing. I got the Lobster Roll both visits and it just gets better every time. The salmon and steak frites were also delightful. The salad could use a little acidity- it tasted a little bland. That was the only thing I would change about my visit. The bread pudding is the best thing on the menu!! I have never had one as great at this. Overall, I will be returning often and recommending to everyone. read more

Place has a great vibe and was loudly buzzing on a Tuesday early evening. Sat at the bar and was greeted a few minutes later by bartender. Ordered the Redfish bouillabaisse with shrimp and mussels. The bouillabaisse was very good as was the redfish. Perfectly cooked. However, the 2 shrimp were way overcooked and clearly had been in the pot for a while, rendering it a chew fest. It came with 3 small mussels and a small slice of grilled bread to complement the meal. Needless to say, I walked out hungry for $36. Was not offered any more bread to sop up the gravy. Maybe they need some time to work out the kinks, but not not on my radar for a return visit at this time. read more

I love this place! I've eaten here more times than I can count and it's fantastic every time. The ambiance is very cool. Classy, but not stuffy. Service is always great, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The host, Adam is always cheery and happy to greet guests as they walk in. Most importantly, the food is sooo good. I've tried everything on the menu at least once. My favs are the redfish beignets, pan roasted salmon, the mussels, and the burger. Oh man, my mouth is watering just thinking about the burger! There's also a great raw bar. The bartenders and servers are super attentive and have great recommendations if you're on the fence about anything. Don't forget to save room for the bread pudding or the chocolate something. I'll be back asap, I don't think I'll ever get tired of this place! Love this place! Went on Saturday night. Place was busy so we sat at the Oyster bar since we didn't have reservations. Fun place to sit where you can see what's going on in the kitchen. Place is run very efficiently. Started with Oysters and the Wedge Salad. Oysters were very good and the salad was nothing special but tasty. We split the Salmon so we could save room for dessert. That Salmon was cooked perfectly. Served on Creamed Leeks, Potatoes and Zucchini was delicious. My husband had the Something Chocolate, a creamy dark chocolate pot de cream and I had the Blueberry Bread Pudding. Both so yummy. Fast and very good service. Loved the ambience. Nice and cozy. Walloon's was EXCELLENT! The interior was thoughtfully designed and decorated. It has a great "Date Night" atmosphere, but it wasn't stiff in a way that you couldn't come in dressed casual. All of the staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgable about the menu. Every course was 5 stars. The bar was well stocked with any drink you could think of. We ordered the Martini which was very good. The Cold Water Oysters were fresh and delicious, and the Spicy Tuna Crudo was unique and fun. For dinner we tried the Seared Redfish and the Braised Short Rib. The redfish was cooked to perfection, and the side shrimp was a great addition. The short rib was so tender (no knife needed!) while the buttery potato puree was a great pairing for this dish. This was a classic dish that really stirred up the nostalgia of my childhood. It was so good, we came back for lunch the next day. Pro tip: if you park in the parking garage, bring your ticket in for free parking validation by your waiter. This is sure to become one of our local favorites! read more

Cool vibes and awesome location. Great variety of cold water oysters. That's about the best part of the experience. I ordered the lobster roll and it was underwhelming. I left with the memory of a great brioche bun and lettuce. Lobster was chopped small and got lost in celery. Needless to say it was not worth 30 dollars. Fries were delicious, not worth the up charge. If you've ever had an east coast lobster roll, do not look for your expectations to be met. The mussels were good, but sauce was hard to eat without a spoon. As I look around the restaurant for a waiter I made eye contact with someone in the kitchen. I later learned he was the chef and I asked for a spoon. After a brief look of bewilderment, a server finally brought over a spoon. No acknowledgment or words from the chef. A single thin slice of bread was provided and tasty but not enough to mop up the sauce. My glass of water was filled at the beginning of the meal and left empty half way through my sandwich. Wait staff was hard to find. The table next to us seemed to have good service. All that being said, I would probably give them a second chance. read more

I went there for a date dinner because it had just opened and stemmed pretty nice. The venue is nice but was soon greeted not very well. As we walked in, I could tell that the host was not too happy about a couple of 19 Year olds walking in, as everyone else in the restaurant was at least 55. He used tactics as "seeing if there is an open table," there were plenty, and seeing which tables were "reserved," it was 4:30 PM. You could tell that they were off set about us being in there and it didn't feel very welcoming. On the good side, the food was amazing and so was Wes. We were excited to try this new restaurant but the waitstaff left us disappointed. Food was ok. We started with the crab dip (a bit over cooked and a little heavy on the bell peppers) and the red fish beignets. The beignets were outstanding and the dill sauce that accompanied it was perfection. After our appetizers, our waitress then told us she was leaving and someone else would be taking care of us. Once the new guy made his way over he asked if he could bring some "water service" (which was clearly on the table), and then asked if we wanted some appetizers (which we told him we already ordered) to which he replied he would go check on. Kind but the obvious crumbs on the table and missing silverware was clearly an indication that we had already eaten. We ordered our main course, oysters and a lobster roll. Our waiter asked if we wanted to "upgrade to French fries". A funny term to use as we were not at a fast food restaurant but hey, let's upgrade! We were given a choice of 3 different oysters, one from Canada and 2 from Massachusetts. The lobster roll was heavy on the celery but the oysters were superb. When asked by our waiter how the meal was he told us he had "never met anyone who just ordered the Massachusetts oysters". Not sure what that meant. It's a bit loud inside yet not too crowded at 4 on a Friday. The change in waitstaff in the middle of our meal was awkward. The original waitress ended up bringing our main courses and was still there when we left. It's nice to have an oyster bar type restaurant and it's definitely a different style for Fort Worth. If our experience had been better we would probably be back. We parked in the parking garage conveniently located in the back. However, don't forget to have your ticket validated. Adam had taken our reservation and seated us, and when we went back inside to tell him what happened he immediately came to the garage with us to make sure we could get out without having to pay the $30 lost ticket fee. we went there tonight 3/9/24 for the first time. it won't be our last. everything about this place is awesome. service, food, prices, parking validation. the menu is full, we'll need to return to try additional item. Saturday night and our food came quickly. our drinks were perfect and our waitress could have been nicer and more informative. A large bar in the middle with tables around the edges. reminds us of several of our favorite restaurants in Dallas. This will become our "go-to" restaurant in Fort Worth! read more

This was our third time returning after 4 months since our first visit. The first dining experience was good. The next two were terrible. Come on!! You charge us for cocktail sauce for my calamari?? So us Ft worth downtown condo owners said no thanks!! Well this past Sunday evening post Dallas Cowboy's game my partner suggested us try y'all again. I walked in while my partner parked our car and the reception immediately asked do you have a reservation? I said no. Looked around and maybe one fourth to one third occupied tables. I asked if this would be a problem? And he said well we can FIT you here on the left in the back at a two table booth. Well my partner is 6'4 and I don't sit in the back. So I politely asked well what about those five empty tables up front on the left. Your employee stated those were reserved but he could maybe seat us at one. Your female server was wonderful. Attentive and polished. A very nice dining experience. But... the entire time we were there... not one table out of five next to us was ever occupied!! So what's the deal?? read more

Walloon's is amazing!! I booked a reservation for our 1 year engagement anniversary through Resy. We arrived for our reservation and were greeted by the hosts. We were seated immediately with no wait. It seemed to be a busy night as we were seated in a tiny table for two in the corner of the restaurant. The decor and ambiance is amazing. Unfortunately, it was a little snug at our table and I wasn't very happy with the table to celebrate our anniversary. My fiance went to the host desk to see if there was anything else available for the evening but they happen to be entirely booked. He came back and we were greeted by our waiter with water. Right as he was pouring water, the host who I later found out was Adam said, stop, I have another table for you, follow me. Adam lead us to their private spirit cellar with a romantic round table for two. I got teary with appreciation! We had the most exquisite dinner in a private romantic room just the two of us. We started with their signature Old Fashioned and Hemingway Daiquiri. That was followed by their French Onion Dip. For dinner we had the Pan Roast Salmon and Braised Short Rib and ended the night with their special cherry and raspberry cheesecake. This meal was unforgettable with so much flavor.
