Not everyone lives by a Walmart. I called a few times, zero answer. I finally drive to one to find out the two things I needed were closed. Returns and garden. Now I have to drive all the way home then back tomorrow. What a joke. And they don't need to provide anything because people are hostage to shop here. Not anymore after I return my item. Bring plenty of patience if you buy razors here. They now lock up the shaving razors behind locked glass. They even lock up the $3.74 disposable store brand razors. You press a help button and wait and wait for an employee to come. The employee asks you which one you want and takes it. Then instructs you to go to register 10, the one with tobacco products. Where it will be waiting for you, which then you'll have to wait in a long line. A very unpleasant experience to get a $3.74 razor. I understand locking up the expensive razors, but come on! read more

Don't particularly love shopping at Walmart...even if prices are usually better. This location is not very well stocked, it's hard to find employees to get help. I only shop here for my elderly grandmother, and during today's visit I literally got yelled at by an employee (Andy) after I asked him to show me where a product was. When I asked to speak to a supervisor he then yelled at me to go find him/her myself and that he couldn't leave his area (he had just walked back to his area after helping another couple of ladies). I went to another employee to ask for a supervisor and he didn't speak English, so we had to use a translator. He was nice but couldn't help. I approach a third employee in the self checkout area and ask for a supervisor. She sternly responded "what do you need?" And then once I explained what had happened, rolled her eyes and brought me a supervisor. When I walked by the employee who had yelled at me, he was speaking to the supervisor and now raising his voice at her. This is a really good Walmart. They have a lot of stuff!!! I got everything I needed and the prices were really good.

I really don't understand why there isn't more pics from this store on people of Walmart. I try to avoid this place but their low low prices and unnecessary consumer goods made by slave labor in totalitarian countries keeps me coming back. It's not the staff that makes the place horrible although they certainly don't do much to alleviate the situation either. Nor is it the company's total betrayal of their Made in America roots. It's the customers that make this place so crappy. I find it amazing that in one of America's most expensive cities that there's still enough people of a certain class, culture, and socio status to fill the status quo of a typical Midwestern Walmart. Where do they come from? Is it a bunch of people that inherited their home from their parents? It ain't t cheap to live around here. I just don't get it. The pharmacy is terrible. No sense of urgency and no customer service. However the store itself isn't that bad. I usually find what I need and the service is on par with what I expect for the price of goods. Would give them four stars if it wasn't for the terrible pharmacy. read more

After making my purchase I refused to show my receipt at the door, I was threatened by the security guard with pepper spray and physical violence if I did not cooperate. Mind you... a customer has ZERO obligation to show their receipt after a purchase. After I pay... I own the bag, I own the receipt, I own the items. Much as people like to bash on Walmart, admit it - at one point or another, you've had to come in here for something. This Walmart location isn't as bad as the one off of Aero Drive - if anything, it's cleaner and a bit more organized. The prices here are definitely cheaper than what one may find at other stores; I do have a problem with how the chain sells "sanitized" versions of albums, so I generally avoid buying CDs here unless it's the exact same one that can be found someplace else. Also, I do like the sports memorabilia mini-store that's set up near the registers. Parking can be a problem, and the restrooms can be cleaner. Also, while the calibur of Walmart shoppers here is a bit better than the types seen on peopleofwalmart.com, there are a few shady people I've seen at this location. Though I'm a Target loyalist, Walmart fits the bill when I'm in the area. read more

This pertains to my experience getting a PlayStation 5. The employees here have integrity. They are going through a hard time right now with COVID and with the insane release of the PS5. I discovered that this location would be getting a shipment in that night and would sell them the following morning. So I got to the store an hour before close to wait outside. I was the second person in line for the 4 units they had available. Well since there is a curfew in affect the management told us that we couldn't wait there. This would be an issue because if we left we'd lose our place in line. The management (and specifically Alejandra) agreed to create a list for the four of us to keep our place in line. This list was very unofficial and written on the back of a receipt. We were told to return just before the store opened. Naturally we all had our doubts about if it would work but we had no other option. So we left. When we returned in the morning there was a line of about 75 people outside waiting for the PS5. We (the four of us on the list) made it clear to the people in the front of the line what the situation was. There was some arguing but we agreed to see what Walmart would do. When we got to the electronics department they were prepared. The employees had been informed of the list that was made. They even printed out our names and labeled the PS5 boxes with our names. And they held their ground against the newly formed line who was upset about the situation. The employees recognized the list and held to it without giving in to angry people. Thank you Alejandra for ensuring that everyone was properly informed, and well equipped to handle the situation. Thank you electronics department for labeling the PS5 boxes with our names, and for not giving in to the shouts of the people not on the list. This list was unofficial and was made to accommodate us who got there at 10pm since we were being forcibly removed. There was nowhere in policy that said they had to adhere to that list. There was no incentive for Alejandra to even tell the other employees about the list, since they could've just used that as a strategy to get us to leave peacefully. However, despite all of that they upheld their word. They had integrity. They stuck to that integrity even during conflict with the other people. This Walmart has employees and management of incredible upstanding character. I hope everyone who was involved gets some type of reward for doing the right thing. Have a Merry Christmas! read more

Sometimes, you can find some great bargains, but, you need to be careful because most of the products come from overseas, and the quality can be questionable. I never thought I'd find myself writing a review of Walmart. . But life's funny that way. I ordered a $300 baby sock monitor online to be delivered to this store. I elected to pay in store since I was already here then pick it up in store once they shipped it here. (They don't carry this product on the shelves) After a few days I elected to cancel it and get a refund because target carried it for $100 less. That was on November 11th. It's now December 13th and after promising me the refund in 7-10 business days, these employees don't do anything but transfer you around every department until you get frustrated and hang up after an hour. I like to call this the "Walmart merry-go-screwyourself" After hours on the phone and failing to get at least a brain cell that works here, I go in physically only for their "investigation" to lead to someone telling me it's now my problem and I have to call Walmart customer care. Well it's been a month and no one knows what they're doing. Not worth it. With amazon and target etc. there are so many other places to take your business that treats their customers right and will act professionally. Very disappointed! I don't like how we were treated!!! We asked 3 different Walmart employee's to to help us with the purchase of a small discounted freezer. None of them ever came back. When we carried the freezer to the self-checkout line, paid and were ready to leave the store they treated us like we were stealing the freezer! I have never been treated so unfairly by any retail store ( I'm 65 and a retired military Vet). In the end we were fine, but we had 5 Walmart employees standing around us trying to say it was not for sale even though it was labeled with the discounted price and had a sign that said 50% discount. It's unfortunate that this store failed to not only not let their employees know there were other employees that have tested positive for covid, they also have not let the public know. Not much to say here... It's a Walmart (and if by nothing ejse, the shoppers here can verify that hah). I usually only pickup online items here (I have gone I side before and it was just chaos). It's a really large store though so you'll probably find most of the things you're looking for (if you can navigate the germ infested issues safely). NOTE: The online pickup IS NO LONGER at the back of the store. It has been relocated to the very front by the entrance!! (so don't do what I did and walk the entire store...) PRO TIP: Better yet, put the app on your phone (I know, just don't let your friends see!) and you can "virtually" check-in BEFORE even going in to pickup your goods! That will ensure that you don't have to wait 45 min just to pick up your small order... read more

I am a regular Walmart shopper both in store and online. But you better watch out, Walmart, Amazon is biting at your ankles. 1. For the largest retailer you can't seem to manage INVENTORY. Every time I visit your store, I can't get several items on my list. Off to Target. 2. In this day and age of computerized everything, how is it you can't figure out what people are buying, what is in demand and what is on (and NOT on) your shelves. Inventory 101. Please take it. 3. Both in store and online, you don't have things I want or need. And some products are "not available" online, yet you don't stock on your shelves. 4. I don't have time for multiple trips like the average unemployed customer. My time is valuable and it is worth paying more at Target or going online with Target or Hollar stores to get what I need, when I need it in ONE TRIP. I will probably go back because I am frugal. I go up to the manager Dee and I asked him if he could please check if they have the size I'm looking for in a different Walmart. I generally come to Walmart for all of my supply needs such as toilet paper , paper towels, toothpaste, toothbrushes, medicines, deodorant, those types of needs is generally what I purchase why because I find that the prices are cheaper at Walmart then they are at your general stores around your town. I say why not save money in my wallet versus just spending without care. At the end of the day I'm always looking to save a few bucks if I can do so. I like the fact that their ibuprofens and their ad bills are always cheaper than anywhere else is well when you buy the generic brand,Again the same rule applies why spend more when you can spend less. Overall this place has a lot of food options as well most of it is dry foods- isle foods, But they do offer some frozen foods and some cold foods as well but just not as much is you would see at your local grocery store, also there is pretty much no fresh produce whatsoever, so I do not shop there for my food needs unless I simply need some kind of I'll food while I'm doing other shopping. I like their movie prices as well, although I find much more on their website versus at the store, Walmart prices are almost always beating any other store when it comes to movies or CDs. The one thing I want to point out is if I were any of you going to Walmart and you were looking to purchase something make sure you have the Walmart app first and Price compare what is online versus what is at the store what I find so many times is that the price is cheaper online or sometimes cheaper at the store and they have to honor what is online or at the store as far as matching their own set price, four instance I bought a tv series yesterday and in the store it was $50.00, online it was $46.72. As I walked into the line to pay I showed the gentleman and he says we no longer price match, I explained to him I want to speak to a manager and I did and I explained that this is their own website and they should honor their website cost versus their in-store cost which ever is cheaper he agreed and on I went! Adding to what I just said I did find out yesterday that they do not price match other stores anymore, that was a very big thing that Walmart did for years, if you found something cheaper at a different store target or whatever they would price match it. That is no longer the case, they were only price match what is on their online store is for Walmart . Overall this Walmart location in Claremont is very clean and organized for the most part, they also have a massive parking lot with very large metal shades for the parking spots , which is fantastic I don't like when I walk back to my vehicle and it's boiling hot inside, I thought that was a very nice feature that all Walmart's should copy ! read more

After spending the evening being aggressively followed by loss prevention we were forcibly stopped at the door by a very rude woman who demanded to see my reciept. Turns out some of the items in the cart had been tagged with tags that were not for the product, at this time the employee began throwing items from my cart into another cart treating me like a common criminal. Once management showed up the woman completely flipped the script and began acting cordially at which time they said they would have to refund a certain amount of items. Time and time again this walmart has proved itself to be the literal worst walmart i've ever seen in my life. I would rather drive an hour to go to the superstore walmart in La Mesa than come here. Multiple times i have placed web orders and came to pick them up, sometimes to be greeted by no one and eventually just go home even though i visited during hours that they claim they are open, or my item just isn't there at all. my items have also been messed up (wrong sizes for example) and the customer service area offered no help, simply stating that i could return them and order new ones. i had to have the uniform ready for the job i started the next day so that didn't help me in the least. i've also called their customer service line multiple times only to be put on hold and answered by the same person repeatedly. the same woman would pick up the phone multiple times as if she had never spoke to me and then once again put me on hold. Every time i asked for her name she told me that she wasn't required to give it to me and eventually hung up on me. almost every part of that store is filthy beyond belief. the dressing rooms are filled with tags and panty protectors from bathing suits literally STUCK TO THE WALLS. The handicap stall in the fitting rooms also has cracked mirror that was simply taped over, and then someone removed the tape and no one bothered to fix it. The bathrooms are covered in what i assume is actual human fecal matter and what looks to be blood. i feel disgusting after i touch anything in that store. 10/10 do not recommend. p.s. the photo printers haven't worked for months so if you need photos don't bother. read more

I do not like this particular Walmart and today I finally realized why I feel this way. First of all, if given a choice I would prefer going to Target instead of Walmart any day, but sometimes Walmart has things that Target does not and the prices are usually lower. For example today I was looking for a blu ray DVD and a pencil box for my son who broke his at school. Couldn't find them at Target and Walmart had the blu ray for $15.96 and the box for 97 cents. I bought 5 pencil boxes, just in case. I also bought other items and when the time came I looked at all the open checkout stands and of course, I chose the shortest one. There two people ahead of me. How bad could it be, right? As I stood there with my two kids I watched the cashier scan the customer's pants. Then it happened... Something was wrong with one of the pants and the cashier had to call the manager. After the manager came and did her magic with the register I was sure I would be out of there in no time. Then another young guy came and the three of them start chatting. Looks like she's training a new guy now. Ok, someone got behind me and so I was stuck with all my stuff on the conveyor belt. The customer pays with a hundred dollar bill. The cashier literally spends 5 minutes looking at the bill, feeling it, folding it, smelling it, telling the trainee how to tell if it's a real bill and proceeds to tell him about previous experiences she had with large bills. At this point I realized I HATE this Walmart. Something like this tends to happen to me a lot. While in line they need to do a price check or the cashier needs more change or the cashiers are changing shifts... There is always something here that prevents me from having a quick checkout. Plus the cashiers are not friendly at all. Going back to my story, it's now my turn. The young guy is scanning my items and everything was fine until he scanned my DVD. It was still in its protective case and the cashier told the trainee to follow her to find a register that had an opener. I had no idea where they were going so I said "forget it, I'll get the DVD another time!" Sharon, the cashier gave me the dirtiest look and said "He needs to learn how to open these things!" When I finally got out of there, I thanked my lucky star and promised myself again that I will not be coming back to this location. This was a Tuesday afternoon... Definitely one of the better locations. Pros: 1. It's in a fairly central/prime location in Kearny Mesa. 2. Huge parking lot. 3. Always fairly clean and easy to find things. 4. Usually has the things I need in stock. 5. Never gets TOO crowded. 6. It doesn't bring ghetto crowds, so I feel safer going to this location. Cons: 1. Parking lot can get crowded. 2. Closes at midnight. Overall, i'm always in and out of this place fairly quickly. read more
