Walmart is a large company with little value given to improve customer service. The experience encountered here is by far the worst. 9/1/24 at 12:30pm My partner and I were at the self checkout and an old man named ANDY who was supposed to be helping was sitting on a chair. We politely asked for assistance but he just looked at us and didn't answer. He rudely told us to come to him and motioned his hand. We asked if he can help us and he finally got up after multiple requests to help us. We told him the item wasn't ringing up as the clearance price. He said that's the price but we told him it was in the clearance isle. He proceeded to be adamant and had a rude and condescending tone with us. He said he's been working there for a long time and he knows what he's doing. He was already having a bad attitude and he snapped at us in a rude way shaking his head continuously belittling us. He told us "NO IF IT DOESN'T HAVE THE yellow sticker someone must've misplaced it" I told him there was an entire box of it in the clearance isle. He can see for himself or I can show him a picture. He kept saying no and shaking his head at us like we were stupid young kids. He was completely rude and was on a power trip. The whole entire time he was guarding our station and was watching us like a hawk. I even showed him an item that didn't have a yellow sticker but was on sale. Not all items in the clearance isle have those yellow stickers. I told him "see not all clearance items have stickers and they may have forgotten". When he scanned an item without the sticker it was IN FACT on sale. I think he got moded but didn't want to admit he was wrong--but rather proceeded to be firm like he knew everything. We weren't rude either. He kept coming up to us looking at our stuff and asking "are you going to take this?" And starts taking stuff we didn't need. At first he didn't give a crap about helping us, but now he was on his feet power tripping and scolding us in line in front of everyone. He kept picking on us and singled us out of everyone else there and continued to pester us. He thought he was going to walk all over us and bully us for no reason and kept watching us the entire time. I went back to the clearance isle to grab the same items that had the yellow stickers on them while my partner waited in line. I was already willing to let that part go and wasn't going to let this old jerk ruin the day even though I was already pissed off--but it was when we left that I snapped. After paying for all our stuff I looked at him and said, "NEXT TIME DON'T BE RUDE" as I walked off, he stopped my partner behind me and began to harass him asking him for our receipts. He was assuming we didn't pay or thought we were probably stealing. He was watching us the entire time and probably thought we wanted items for whatever price we wanted. I was so upset I told my partner let's go and the lazy worker tries telling my partner that he wasn't rude and couldn't do much to help. My partner called him out and told him, "it's your bad attitude and bad customer service and his tone, it's all about customer retention" but I'm sure the old man didn't even understand. The worker made up some excuse saying it's beyond his control or capacity. Tf? That wasn't even the point. He was making up crap to excuse his bad behavior. Unacceptable behavior at his age. He was so arrogant and just was tired of life and miserable at his job. He decided to be smart with us but I wasn't going to let this a**hole get away with it. I asked for the supervisor on the floor and we complained to the manager on duty that day. The manager JUSTIN took a long time to come out from the back after multiple requests to get him to the front. I asked what happened and he said he was just at the back. After telling the manager what happened he looked stunned and was speechless and didn't know what to say. He didn't have much to say to diffuse the situation or make it right. The managers here also need proper training on how to handle this type of behavior. He didn't know how to deal with the situation and respond to the matter. He looked inexperienced and didn't say much--all he did was stay quiet shrug his shoulders and had a smirk on his face as if to say "oh well". They hire young managers that don't have any type of experience or training skills. I'm sure that Andy miserable old fart was going to deny the whole thing and tell the manager completely different and just gets a slap on the wrist. I'm not even sure if this Justin guy even talked to him. One of these days if that old man continues to talk down to and belittle customers--he will meet his match one day. I hope no one else gets to be treated this way, I know we didn't deserve it. We were trying to do the right thing and be honest. For no reason at all we were harassed and bullied. Folks if you are miserable with your job--it's time for you to retire. read more

I swing in here cuz of my move into a condo in the mission bay this week. I had to buy the temporary things till my purchases of new things to arrived. The first impression were a roomy place, filled with lots of good looking customers ... hahaha Anyways, I went about making my purchase and used the self checkout options. And when after paying I picked the receipts to come into my cellphone. Well I learned later that never happened!! So as I walk out of the store. A gal guarded by it asked for my receipt and I learned the receipts never went to my phone. The woman have a questionable face on her asking me to ask them to produce a receipt. So I gone back to the self checkout section to ask for a receipt. They got a manger involved and helped and wrote of a receipt of the transaction and inquiries why I asked for it (indicating that practice weren't practical) , I then info it's the gal by the exit requesting me to provide it to her before I can exit the store with it. The manager assured me that she will let her know. As I walk out with my goods I waived the receipts to the gatekeeper's face that I had initially paid and didn't need to be stopped for the second time. Like they thought I tried to walked out without paying!! Seriously! But I learned next time I shall asked for a printed receipt! Cuz the text option at this location -- failed! Yikes!!! read more

We walked into the store heading to get a cart near front entrance & got harassed by Barbara Locke a store employee. Tried to go see & complain to store manager they were to busy to see us so we walked out. Tried to call both the store, complain online & with corporation, but they only will deal with me once I give them my account. Covid-19 I'm bitter. After hunting through two Targets, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, and Michael's, I thought a big box giant like Walmart would have cute mini pie pans. I was wrong! The internet says Walmart had cute mini pie pans but the only ones I found were large enough to feed a battalion. And they were foil! Ugh. Sure it's still the in the midst of the pandemic era and we're getting close to sweater weather but come on! You're Walmart! You're supposed to have heaps of affordable goods to supply the whole world. *Sigh*... I really didn't want to order through Amazon because I'm old and I hate waiting but I guess I have to participate in the slow demise of in-person retail shopping by ordering online. On that note, this has to be the cleanest Walmart with semi-attentive workers. For that, there are three stars. Usually I have to have a little guided imagery meditation and self-talk before I enter the hell of most Walmarts. read more

Produce department is very limited and overall not stocked. There was a time when there were barely any beard and the entire ice cream section was empty. Very short and to the point if you need to return anything to this store and you ordered it online they can't help you cause they can't return it but if you go to any Walmart after it bing bam boom returned no problem. This happened to me twice this week and only reason I went back the second time was for pure convince. The lady told me oh did you cancel the order I said no she said did you just put in for a return I said yes 2 hrs ago. Then she said I had to wait 24hrs for it to go through. Your the same lady I did this dance with last time and the item I returned last time I had for a week and you couldn't return it so which one is it the 24hr return rule works for dog bowls but not light bulbs . I go into Walmart at least once a week. Customer service is always friendly and outgoing but not this morning. I went to the video Department to purchase some gift cards for my grandsons. I went to the register and Carlisle was there. I asked him for some assistance, it seems to me that he was extremely rude and not very helpful. Went today 6-30-715pm and not a single employee could be found to help unlock anything from the cosmetics department. Ridiculous if this store is going to have things locked up with no way for paying customers to get to it. We eventually left without buying anything after asking the girl running cosmetics to help and she denied saying she wasn't able to go anywhere. Went to ask someone else and they said they're unable to, complained at the front check outs with not a single employee being able to get what we needed behind the locked doors. You need punctual personnel at the Vision Centre. Jazmine was late today, Sunday, November 10. And was she apologetic? No, she was also super rude, inefficient, and disorganized. She basically told all of us to come back Tuesday. At 12:50, when she finally went to get the key to open the door, she brought out a chair for herself and let all customers, 6 of us, standing. She addressed us from behind a desk without any concern regarding the confidential nature of our individual cases. My issue was so simple! Poway Vision Center solved it in seconds. I had to drive to another city and to waste my gas, of course!!!!! I started going to Walmart Vision Center for their prices, but today I realized it's time to find another optometrist, one that can be punctual and caring enough to offer reasonable customer care. And when they say they are open on Sunday, they really open, at the time posted, and with real service people, ready to go from minute one. I am addressing the tardiness, but I should address my issue. Jazmine, of course, refused to solve it.... No to this, "no, no, no... we don't do this, we don't do that... " she even pulled some policy issues. My perception, she was stuck with the Sunday shift and was in no mood to be efficient and to properly provide the service she was there to provide. This weirdo walmart does not respect the prices on the walmart app. On 11/26/24 I found an air purifier on the walmart app at $78 and put it in my online cart, but did not purchased it. I instead went to the store and found it, well when it came time to pay, it was $100, the weirdos working there refuse to make a price adjustment. So what did I do? oh I bought it directly from their walmart app at $78 in front of the employee who "helped" me and I said: "ok I just bought it, now I can take it" you know what she said?: "no it does not work like that". How in the world DOES IT WORK then? ....How?.......???? Dont know what planet this walmart and the people working there live in. Walmart is chinas fav flea market. I hate buying things made in china, they just scream cheap bs. The rare times i purchase things at walmart are mainly video games and something i might return since they typically had the best return service. However, that has changed, purchasing with debit used to allow cash back on returns but no longer. Now you must wait 3-5 business days b4 yo $$ returns. I dont like how they can take my $$ in milliseconds but takes a business week to get it back. This walmart is def the cleanest however the aisles are still to slim. Extremely nasty! There was literal sh*t all over the bathroom. I needed to use the restroom after shopping, a paying customer, there was no way I was using this bathroom, so I went to use the bathroom in the back of the store. I explained to them why I was using that bathroom in the back of the store. Because they were closing, they treated me like a criminal, they were just as nasty to me as the front bathroom was, and had security standing over the top of me the whole time I was in the bathroom stall, then they proceeded to gang up and follow me out the front door, telling me that I didn't need to use the bathroom then. I DID need to use the restroom and I'm a PAYING customer who did nothing wrong other than needing to use the restroom. I had already checked out and paid for my items. I am reporting this to corporate headquarters. I've seen the restrooms like this here more than once. read more

Wow nothing makes me appreciate Amazon like trying to do an online order from the universe's most incompetent retailer, Walmart. I ordered, they substituted 5 items in my order despite me clicking the no subs checkbox (why does that even exist if you're going to ignore it?), also 1 item & I'd believe someone grabbed the last one off the shelf, 5 items & you just don't care. So I called them up & told them to just ship me the items they don't have in stock, which they refused, & frankly I should've just told them to cancel the whole order at that point, because f-you you don't deserve my money. ...but because I'm stupid I told them to just cancel the items I don't want your replacements, you clearly didn't want them either because you offered me them for free, but spoiler I have enough trash I didn't even want. So I get to the store there're 2 people ahead of me & no one at the desk, so I call customer service again & tried & failed to get the manager to come over, they offered me more free trash, but throw your own trash away Walmart I'm not taking it. So the guy 1 in front of me they gave away his order to the wrong person. That was a whole thing. So the single kid they have working at the counter has to go to 3 different places to bring back each bag (none of it was refrigerated or anything it could've been all at the counter)... & of course all the substitutions I canceled on the phone are still there, & need to be canceled again, I just left them on the counter & walked out while they were still doing that. This is specifically about TYRA. She was very rude and had a very nasty attitude at the money services center. She closed at 535pm, when they close at 6pm, had posts up so we couldnt go by but it wasnt very clear thats what it was so she gets frustrated with other teller and says why isnt this closed up and proceeds to walk right in front of me and block me from entering with some signs. Doesnt say we're closed or anything and walks away. Someone else asked what time does money services center close and she responds "NOW" at 5:35pm when money services closes at 6. She couldnt even provide the hours of operation, amongst that behavior she was just so incredibly rude and the most embarrassing part was she was a team lead. It was very obvious that she is either VERY miserable or REALLY hates her job. I just cant believe she's a team lead her behavior was HORRIBLE and not helpful and she has to train people to emulate this same behavior smh! This Walmart is the least customer oriented out of all in San Diego! If you need anything in automotive or tools, you will never get someone with keys to open the cabinets for you. Found 3 employees to ask for help, pressed the button, waited an hour. Nothing! It's near Christmas. If you want to buy a fake tree you have to get to this Walmart before 5 pm because they put them all in the Garden center. They close their garden center at 5 pm so anyone that work until 5 is just out of luck getting it here. DO BETTER WALMART!!!! read more

One minute later, Walmart sent a text: "Sorry, your order has been cancelled. Don't worry, if you paid with a credit card, you weren't charged. We also come to the Moneygram here like once a month to send money to Mexico and we had an unexpected inconvenience but manager Luke was so professional and nice and went above and beyond to help us! I come here once a week. It's the best store closest to me in UTC. I love this too because it's all in the same parking lot as my gym and tanning salon. So I can do all 3 in a row with out leaving a parking lot! The Walmart has tons of parking. They have covered parking (not a garage) so your car is not basking in the sun. The only down side is exiting and turning left to get to the light where you take Clairmont Blvd east or west. The garden center is pretty good and I really love the super Walmart idea with all the food and booze! There is also fast Foods and eye glass doctors in this location! DONT RETURN ANYTHING HERE. It's a nightmare. Had one of the worst return experiences ever tonight at the store. I bought a TV online from Walmart, and unfortunately it had problems, so I filled out the return online. I follow the instructions in the email I received and brought it to the store, when I get to the customer service desk they tell me that they're unable to except the return. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager was not helpful whatsoever. They instructed me to call Walmart so there I am in the middle of Walmart on the phone with Walmart. In the end the TV did not get returned and the people on the phone and in the store were useless. I'm going to be disputing the charge for this broken TV that I got and that no one will except because it's ridiculous that I am being held accountable even though I followed all of the steps to return it on time. read more

This Walmart is currently getting renovated. Parking is a pain here although the solar panels are super cool. The nerd in me just adored seeing them (so did my husband who works with electronics). The customer service counter is crazy slow even with 3 people working it. They also got rude with me about my online order because the upc walmart.com used was for some reason different than the product on the box. Thankfully I kept the shipping box because they used that upc instead, makes zero sense but whatever. Walking around the store you're going to notice you can't find anything. Big sections of the store are empty while they fix the flooring. Seemingly none of the aisles match what the signs say. It's a royal pain to attempt to find anything here. Also food wise there isn't a lot here. Back home (Midwest) half of our Walmart's are food but here it's only a tiny section. Kind of boggles my mind. Then if you do buy something the checkout is painfully slow, more so than most Walmarts. You get 2 stars from me solely based on the cool solar panels. I hope once your renovations are finished the store is actually shop-able. Also I dislike the creepy people who sit outside your door and beg for money. read more

Every time an item I want is under lock and key I let an associate know why I refused to buy said item and opted to buy elsewhere so I don't have to disturb an associate. 5 star for the pharmacy. Their staff are super friendly, helpful, and on it! Never have an issue there. One of the best pharmacies I've used overall. Entire store is clean, well-stocked and easy to find things. Associates are hit or miss. Some are super nice and helpful and some are angry and bothered by your presence. This store locks up many things, probably due to sticky hands San Diego customers. I get it, but trying to find an associate to open a locked cabinet is like trying to find a needle in a haystack! Very frustrating. Also, the makeup aisle is often barricaded off after 6 pm with a cart and chains (literally). Again, customers seem to like to open and destroy things, I get it. But, a super inconvenience for the other customers who would like to purchase something and have busy schedules, where daytime is unavailable for them. The other inconvenience is that this Walmart allows customers to checkout large carts of items through the pharmacy and mandatory makeup cashes. Not cool! Those should be left for the area items only. If you are forcing me to pay at that cash for 1 tube of lipstick, I shouldn't have to wait for Karen to check out 1 month worth of groceries, when she can use the regular cashes. read more

I called to discuss a return I needed to make. I was on hold for 10 minutes and no one answered the Walmart phone. Drive 20 minutes to the store. I show up at 9:40pm when they close at 11pm. Somehow return services stop at 8pm, 3 hours before closing! Nothing about this is indicated on their website. Don't worry; Burger King, Vision center, photo center hours are all listed. Every person I ask to help, including the manager... says the system is down and unable to process returns until the next morning. Which ultimately goes again until 8pm. Signs indicating this, non existent. I am unhappy. Don't accidentally buy something at 7:59pm. read more

This was my first time at this Super Walmart and the first thing that stuck was the huge shade structures they built out in front over the parking lot. That certainly was a first for me and I surely took advantage of it. I came in for a number of items, including razors, mouthwash, and deodorant which they carry with almost unbeatable prices for most of the time. Hence, the reason why I shop he for those particular items. I was also looking for a small King Palm for a gift. The garden department was in good condition and they carried a variety of annuals and perennials. They had a few varieties of palms trees but the King Palm was not to be had. However, as I browsed the aisles, I did notice they carried a number of fruits trees, such as citrus, avocados, and a variety of stone fruits. Since I was in the garden department, I ended up purchasing my goods there, where I experience okay service, minus the king Palm: a palm I later found not to far away Home Depot. The moral of the story, don't let your competition steal your sale. read more

This store is living in the past. If you don't have cash or a swipe-only card don't even bother going because their registers don't accept tapping and fail 99% of the time when inserting the card. Not only that but their store is filthy. There were several places in the store that had grime or spills on the floor just out in the open.
