I received exemplary service at this store Auto center. I ordered tires online and set up and appointment in my app. A small mix up cancelled my appointment and then showed my tires weren't delivered, they were able to find my tires and still fit me in. They also fixed an issue I was having with wobbling in wheels after going to a used tire place, imagine my surprise when the Walmart technician explained my sensors weren't connected and were just floating around because of the place I went to before. They installed new sensors which fixed my wobbling while I was driving. It was one of the best experiences I've had at Wal-Mart. read more

I needed some tires for my daughter-in-law's car and found that Walmart had the tire I wanted at a very good price. I dropped by the store the night before to verify that they had them in stock and they did. I took the car in the following day to have them installed. After a short wait, I was paged to come back to the auto dept. "Well that was quick!" I thought. Instead, I got there only to find that they had just then gotten the car up on a lift and then discovered that they only had (2) tires. Now ya tell me? "Fine" I said "Put these two on and I'll go to another Walmart for the other two." I was disappointed because it now meant twice the time, twice the wait, giving my data to two stores, and extra driving. Still, I got all (4) tires eventually and was quite pleased with the car's drive and handling afterwards. I didn't get the road hazard warranty. I'm not saying that the average person shouldn't. It's just not something I need. I have a hydraulic jack, commercial tire plug kit, two compressors, and enough tools to overhaul most gas engines. I just don't feel that I need road hazard warranty because I can change and fix a flat myself. Fast forward about 35 days later. I'm driving down Hwy 183 and have a blowout at 65 MPH. I get off the road and remove the tire to find that the INSIDE sidewall blew out with a couple of gaping holes in it. I don't believe I hit anything and, since it was on the inside, it couldn't have been from hitting a curb or anything. So I bring the tire back to Walmart and ask that it be replaced under warranty. They didn't want to do it because I didn't have the road hazard warranty. I said a tire sidewall blowing out isn't a road hazard -- it's a defect. They said they don't handle manufacturer's defects. I pulled out the paperwork that came with the tires and read right off of it where Walmart said that Walmart stands behind the tire and will replace any defective tire with 25% or less wear and will prorate replacement for wear beyond 25%. I wound up talking to about four different people of increasing levels of authority. In the end, they agreed to give me the new tire at no cost although I had to pay for the mounting, balance, and valve stem. They never actually admitted that this was my due. They made it seem as though they were doing me a huge favor as if the written warranty I read from didn't say what it says. In the end, I got the tire replaced but I didn't appreciate the stress of having to fight for what was legally owed me. The average person would likely get stiffed here. I donno but I no longer trust them. If I want more stress, I'll just go to work. I don't like having to battle for what's mine. read more

I have come in here a number of times, but only checked in a couple of visits as it is usually "Easy Tiger" time as I have just been somewhere else. I am not comparing this location to any others as to me, each location stands on it's own merit. The parking lot can be scary to navigate so keep your wits about you. I have not had any real problems here, even returning an item for exchange to a different size with no hassles. Yes, the place could use some polishing up as it is looking a bit worn. I can actually locate things, which is unusual for me as I am not a typical giant box store shopper. Note that I do not browse, but there are some things I just don't find at other stores. Of note is I do not buy things like tires, or have work done on a car here. I do not come at heavy shopping seasons, etc. or on weekends. Thus, every time I have been in it is during the day when there is no rush, no big line, and people not stressed out and are helpful. AUTO DEPARTMENT ONLY I'm NOT a fan of Wally world, but AM a fan of their auto department. Unfortunately, one is tied to the other. While I've no vehicles now that I take here, up until very recently, I had 4 business vehicles that needed whatever, and at the lowest price, and fastest time possible. They do that. The guys are nice, and helpful. They tested a battery once for me a few months ago and let me know if it was out before I bought another one. (It wasn't a Walmart battery they were testing) The waiting area is thumbs down, but just being in Walmart is a traumatic experience for me. Hence, why I wait outside or have a snack at Chick-fil-A. They do have seats and TV, if it's ever on. So, not the worse, I just don't like it personally. So, Yes, you'll get the service you need, quickly and without an appt. This will be the only way Walmart gets money from me, and that's saying alot! read more

As I would expect the store is large, clean and offers just about anything you might want or need in the many sections available from automotive to deli. I love their chicken wings and marvel at the variety of frozen dinners my wife and I can't find any where else. I buy my basic automotive items here such as wipers and fluids and find the price very good. I like the self checkout stations which make it easy to check out. If I find any faults with Walmart it's lack of customer service with standard checkout lanes or needing help finding something in the store. Walmart is doing an excellent job of keeping their store sanitary. The staff continues to be friendly, prices are great, and I had a very enjoyable experience. I bought everything from kitty litter to an antenna for inside. Additionally, the carts are actually sprayed down with sanitizing solution after each use, everyone wears masks, there is sanitizer located throughout. Way to go, Walmart!! read more

As one would expect from a Wal-Mart, it's cheap and I've generally found their employees friendly and from all walks of life and wonderfully diverse. Shortcomings would be the automotive section with its long waits and, of course, the produce which looks tired. I wouldn't trust the meat there unless it were frozen as I've gotten some "off" meat which they gladly took back but that should never happen in the first place. My biggest complaint is that they allow dogs in there that aren't service animals. I won't post pics as I respect others' privacy but I've twice seen dogs poop on the sales floor and one leave a puddle. The owners cleaned it up but this isn't a dog park and no one should have to shop amidst urine and excrement. Recently I saw a woman with a bulldog pass a manager and at least 4 other employees and then the dog did his "duty" on the sales floor as they looked on. I don't blame the employees as either the manager or security should have stopped the woman who though it was "cute" that her dog had an "accident". Aww. Her baby had an accident! This can't be good for business. I'll never buy food there again. But I'll still buy their cheap cat litter. read more

I'm fed up with this Wal-Mart. Trash fills the parking lot, and intoxicated people hang out at the entrance digging through the garbage. The debacle continues within the store- shelves look like a pack of wild dogs went roaming down the aisles, turning stuff sideways, pushed back from the shelves. The whole store looks disheveled. Need help or have a question? Good luck. I wandered for about 10 minutes looking for someone to point me in the right direction. Once I got to the checkout area, most of the checkouts were closed, except for the self-checkout. No clerk around to help when the machine screwed up, and wouldn't allow me to check out. I looked, and looked. Nothing. When I finally beat on the self-check out kiosk long enough, it finally spit out a receipt. While headed to the exit, (I couldn't leave this dump fast enough) I was stopped by an employee at the door who wanted to see my receipt. Are they accusing me of stealing? I just ignored her and blew by her. If they want to see my receipt, they should have checked it at the checkout. If not, get out of my way, or call the cops on me. I have always loved this store. Today I ordered some groceries on line and selected that they be delivered. The process was extremely easy and I received my items within just a few hours. After going to another Walmart and leaving there in total discuss because they "Would Not " honor the tread warranty on my tires. They made me return to this Walmart because I purchased the tires here. My initial contact was with Ed. He was Extremely friendly and customer oriented. There was no arguing or banter in our conversation. He was in disbelief about the way I was treated at the other Walmart. He put me in the system and call over his boss (Jesus) for approval. Just so you know...I can not stand Walmart and have always had the worst experiences vowing to never go there again. Today I had to return something for my work though....Wow. I can't believe I am saying this, but I just had the most impressionable experience ever at the Walmart at Mopac and 290...in a shockingly good way! Ever since they added the self checkout kiosks it has been wonderful shopping experience, because before I could never find a cashier! Now I can come in get what I want quickly and get out just as quick. I have uses the customer service a few times and have been pleased. Most recently for the money back guarantee on their beef. I was given a store gift card. Another time at the self check out counter the attendant updated the wrong sale price with no problem on my item. The store is clean and easy to navigate and not usually crowded. Even on black Friday service was good I got in and out quickly. read more

What do you do at 3 am when you have had one too many red bulls and Call of Duty just isn't cutting it? Well I'll tell you what I do, go to Walmart lol Yes I live life on the edge, some say its a gift, but I think more so a curse. haha Whether it be buying 5 dollar movies I don't need, or riding around on razors (the little scooters) Walmart always has something to offer, at any time of day or night. The really odd thing is, no matter what time you come to this place, its ALWAYS PACKED and only 2 lines are open. Especially late night when you want to grab some ice cream or something small. You always find the person with 2 shopping carts in front of you. Never fails. All in all this is a Wallyworld, it's one of the nicer ones around, well as nice as Walmart can be. The staff is usually every helpful and the store is 95% of the time super clean. I would take a star away b/c of the line situation, I mean, come on, you have 20 check outs and only ever 3 open? But... this is the same at all Walmarts, so I guess it is the "norm" so I won't punish this one location. Also they never called the cops on the 28 year old man wearing a monkey stocking hat, eating twizzlers, and riding a razor scooter around in the middle of the night . So points there lol read more

It's 10:07 p.m. on a Saturday night, and my boyfriend suggests we go to Wal-Mart. We need to get his eyedrops that HEB quit selling as well as his favorite Chips Ahoy Chewy Chocolate Chip cookies that more often than not the "Here's Everything But" store frequently doesn't have. So we hit the road. At the store, I remember that Wal-Mart has a bigger and better selection of frozen goods that are often ideal for quick snacks when we're really hungry, so I grab a cart, and onward we go to peruse the aisles. Here among the freezers, you can see ten times more of a variety of food than HEB can ever hope to have. Rows of different types of packaged pasta from T.G.I.F, Romano Macaroni and the like, steak fajitas, etc. I even got distracted by green bean fries from T.G.I.F. Let's not forget about their lines of Tai Pei selections, chicken fried rice, beef and brocoli, shrimp fried rice, plus other flavors that HEB lacks. If you want it, Wal-Mart more than likely has it. We also usually stock up on the Hot and Sour Kikkoman soup, which used to be an HEB staple, until---you guessed it---they quit stocking it. Plus, at 10:00 at night, we could breeze in and out under fifteen minutes because the store was clean, organized, and the other customers had the same idea we did about late night shopping, so they, much like us, hauled ass. I went into Walmart 290 W Austin yesterday to shop. There were no wipes to clean the carts, or, anyone to do that. I checked both doors. I used a dry tissue from my purse to protect myself. I reported this to the lady at the door, and, requested wipes, or, that someone clean them before a customer took one. They also returned the used carts back to the same area without cleaning. She shrugged it off. I mentioned it to 3 other employees, and, when they shrugged their shoulders, I requested to talk to a manager. After waiting 15 mins, I left, and, requested they "please" have a manager take care of it. One of the employees at the self check out, I reported this too. Had a terrible cough, and wouldn't stay away from me or the other people checking out. I had to remind her 3 times to back up 6 ft. She seemed to be oblivious. I don't want to put myself at risk over their incompetence. I was really upset. It was ridiculous. I didn't encounter any of these issues at HEB, Costco, Central Market and other smaller stores. Terrible customer service at the Auto Center!!! We have been here many times for oil changes and tire balances(for more involved auto fixes we have a private mechanic). We have always been satisfied with the customer service and the actual work is great....until today. Let me start by saying that again the guys that did the auto work were great. I would normally never choose to shop at Walmart. However, I also do not pass on free stuff and since I received a 50.00 gift card to Walmart I was kind of forced to shop here. So, I stopped by this newly renovated Walmart today to pick up some free stuff. I walked in through the gardening center entrance which was a very sad sight this time of year with one sad yet very friendly cashier shivering out in the cold. Upon, entering the store through this entrance I found myself in the Pet section. I picked out a few chew bones for my pup and did some comparison shopping on dog food prices. The dog food at Walmart is NOT "Less" and I would not "Save money. Live better" here while shopping for dog food. Are they serious 10.33 for a 17.5 bag of low quality Kibble & Bits? when I can get a good quality bag of Beneful that includes real Salmon (no by products) within the 5 top ingredients for only 23.99 for a 35.2 LB bag at a pet store?? Moving on I picked up a few toiletries that were about what I would expect to pay at HEB. The produce department was fresh and also priced on average with HEB. So, no I probably will not be back unless I get another gift card as an incentive to shop here. read more

Ohhh walmart..............I try not to go here much but it's really hard considering I drive by it every single day. Lines are always very long and take forever, they never have enough people working at the register. The parking lot is always full also. Never EVER lose (or think you've lost) jewelry here. They really don't give a crap and they won't be in much hurry to help you, no matter what the circumstance is. When I had to deal with the store manager, he showed me how much he really cared about his customers. Sam Walton would be sad. This store is usually pretty clean, the staff at the registers are usually nice too. It's ok to go in occasionally but I can't handle it very often. read more

I was in your store today at 5017 W Highway 290, Austin, TX (SE corner of Mopac & Hwy 290) & spent over $215 on plastic storage tubs with lids, heavy duty garbage bags, rain panchos, duct tape & cleaning supplies to donate to the shelter set up at the Wimberley High School to help the 1000+ people displaced by the devastating flood in Wimberley TX last weekend. Before I came to buy these supplies, I had stopped by the shelter to see what they were in the most need for. In addition to these items, the shelter told me they were in need of tote bags or even paper bags with handles to help the displaced families carry out the supplies they needed. Upon checkout, I explained the situation to your manager Diane and asked if Walmart might be willing to donate some of your tote bags or even your paper bags with handles that are both at your checkout counters. Dian went off to ask your General Manager and he refused! I said he wont even donate a handful of paper bags that you sell for .10 cents, & Dian smiled & said "No, Im sorry"! This was a tiny request! Your lack of Humanity & willingness to help out a community that very frequently supports & shops in your store certainly doesn't make me ever want to walk through your doors or any Walmart ever again!!! And to Marty, the embarrassed clerk at the check out counter that overheard this and pulled money out of his own pocket to send the shelter a big handful of paper bags, YOU ROCK!! read more

This review is for the tire center at this Walmart. I went in for a regular oil change (which is a great deal for 19.95). Charles the mechanic took great care of my car. He was informative, friendly, and made sure all the materials he used for the additional checkups were economically priced.
