I have never seen a store that was such a mess. Boxes and pallets lined up down literally every isle, all the shelves were a mess. The store was a complete disaster. If there had been a fire I guarantee someone would have been stuck in that store. Unbelievable. Shopped here recently and not much has changed. Shelves are still empty all throughout the store. Employees are either friendly and helpful or totally avoid eye contact in case you might speak to them. Cashiers are pleasant but there are less and less of them at the registers, resulting in very long lines. The store seems to be trying to force everyone to use the self-service kiosks. The machines are fine if you just have a few things, but not if you are grocery shopping for the week. read more

Yes friends, I am reviewing Wal-Mart. However, this awesome of a store deserves a good review once in a while. It seems like this Wal-Mart recently went through a massive renovation. Since it is a "Supercenter," it has pretty much everything you need for a low price. I'm not a big fan of the whole idea of Wal-Mart forcing stores around it to shut down, but that has become the reality and something to accept. In such metropolitan areas like Reno or the Bay Area, the process has already happened and the remaining stores have survived. Ok back to the store. This place has EVERYTHING you will ever need from a generic department store or supermarket. Their selection is beyond any other place I've seen, and they carry a good variety of European chocolate mmmm. The fruits and veggies section is stocked full of cheap and good tasting produce, which is also a plus. Even though I will probably never be back unless I'm in Reno again, this store is great. It's Walmart. I don't have high expectations when walking in and they do their best to keep me in that mindset. My massive pet peeve when it comes to retail are employees who know nothing about the department they work in and don't really care to learn. The folks that work in this stores electronics/entertainment department are clueless. When asking if they have a particular DVD in stock I get blank stares and confusion. The second most annoying part about this store is the lack of open check out lanes. More often than not you will find yourself crammed into a clothing section in a massive line waiting to check out in one of the two open lanes. read more

I am disappointed that no one in management responds to customers concerns here. This store is completely mismanaged and it continues to get worse not better. They have decided to rearrange the food isles. I am aware of product placement and monies involved but this is not what is happening. Nor are they moving items to force the customers to walk the isles. They truly don't know what they are doing. The oil is not with the vinegar and not with the salad dressings? They no longer have stocked their own gelatins even if their shelf tag is still there. Do you think any baking is happening? I am guessing that due to not being open 24 they have decided to try and stock at all the busy hours. Truly an inconvenience at all times and the stockers carts are big. They usually have at least two or more stockers per isle and customers struggle to get around. None of the staff are courteous to customers and some staff refuse to make eye contact or be helpful. I asked one person for an item placement that had been moved and rudely she told me she had 10 more minutes for her break and walked off. I paid for a propane tank exchange and had to go back 4 times to try to get the tank. At the 4 th time there was anemployee walking towards me with a key and I asked her if she was getting the tank. She did not speak English. Another employee took the key and got the tank. Savings are a good thing but not at the expense of rude, unfriendly, unprofessional employees. With a leg out of commission, I shopped online last night, and scheduled my pick up for after work today. I was notified when the shopping was completed, notified of any substitutes and notified of anything out of stock. I checked in when I was on my way, notified Walmart of my car color, and within 2 mins of pulling in, a nice young man was there with my groceries. Thank you for this cool service! Can I give it no stars? I pull up to the automotive center to get in oil change at 5pm, they close at 7. One car pulls in right in just before me the lady hasn't even gotten out of her car yet when I pulled up. I can see that there is a truck in the oil change bay that is pulling out as we pull up. Now there is no one in the oil change bay. Knowing that they have the little hand held scanners to check you in and the other car is in front of me, I figure I'll wait in my truck until the guy comes out to move her car in. At 5:12 a woman walks out and says we're closed that's the last car in front of you, blah, blah, blah. I tried to explain that I've been here since the same time as this woman before me , and it's still almost two HOURS before you close 7pm. Yea, she doesn't care. Typical Wal-Mart ZERO customer service skills. No respect or care for other people's time. That was the LAST time I will ever go there. read more

After 25 minutes, random employees passed without aknowledging us. I went to the nearest employee, Sherry, who seemed like she was under the influence, and asked her to get someone in the paint Dept. because we needed paint mixed. It seemed like she didn't want to help by the look of her face and body language. She said she couldn't mix the paint because there was an error code? I have been using the grocery pickup for several years and have numerous issues with lateness of orders, substitutions and excessive wait times. Tonight was no exception. I waited 1 1/2 hours for my grocery pickup order after I was told it was ready and I checked in. I ended up calling and cancelling. Walmart needs to understand and care if they are going to not put a cap on the number of grocery pickup orders they fill then they need more associates. I am not blaming the employees that work there, they do the best they can. It's the Walmart Corporation. This experience ends my patronage of this organization. read more

i am too one of those people who refuses to step foot into a Walmart unless my life depends on it, but when you're driving up to the black rock desert, it's 3am, nothing else is open, and you have to get last minute supplies for burning man, there is no other option really. this walmart is open 24 hours, has fresh produce, even local produce (!!) and everything you could possible need for the desert, whether it be a cheap bike for cruising on the playa, gallons of water to keep hydrated, cheap cans of beer and other various booze and mixers, fake flowers to decorate your bike, glowing paraphenalia, playa gifts, tents and other camping gear, costume items, and lots of munchies to keep your strength up (Zatarain's Ready to Serve sides of red beans and rice - just add 2 tblsps of water to your pan - YUM). i figure if i only go there once a year, i'm not really supporting them, right? read more

I was shocked to find so many like minded people on YELP! The service we always found quite exceptable, most certainly from the younger, student employees, Saturday workers (kids) they are always smiling and friendly maybe they should train the older higher ranking employees, especially the customer service managers at returns, OMG! EVIL RUDE and smelly lol....we made a return yesterday and thought we were in a horror movie or it was Halloween, this miserable tall gothic looking CS Manager who looked like he needed a good meal, was being rude to an elderly couple next to us and upsetting the old lady, then it was our turn, if he had smiled his face would of cracked.....the kids working were super nice and pleasant. The store is good for a Walmart only negative is the shelves stay empty for days and are not merchandised! About 70% of the problem w this store are the a$$hole customers who come here. You got a bunch of punk college kids, bunch of welfare babies, and geriatric army complaining none stop. Most of the staff who work here try very hard but when you deal with scummballs all day it does get hard to keep a smile on. Best times to go is from 9 pm to 5 am. Otherwise way overcrowded with complaining people who have no clue about life. Now 1/4 people come here are good people but the other 3 screw it up for everyone else. This one particular Walmart must be the worst in Northern Nevada. Nothing is ever in stock. They run out of milk regularly. Shelves of commonly items such as flour, sugar, bread eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. are usually picked over or bare. Lines are long. Unless I need something immediately (which they won't have anyway, so why do I keep trying?) I will drive 5 more miles to the one by GSR. read more

You will spend an amazing amount of time at this Walmart. You may not want to, or plan to, spend this amount of time but you will. Inventory is frequently non existent but if you can find a staff member you will often learn that "a truck just came in and the stock is in the back". You will then wait until someone from the back brings the item to the employee who then gives it to you. Walmart is clearly trying to force customers into the automated check outs. Human Walmart employees at check out counters are few and far between and seemingly poorly trained or selected for their ability to work very very slowly. One of the least friendly Walmarts I have ever been to. Went to Walmart to buy some new desk chairs, found some which seemed like a great deal, got to the check out only to have them ring up for over double the marked price. When I questioned the checker, she told me they were indeed the higher price and, "we had the same problem yesterday.". Not only did they refuse to honor the marked price, they were obviously aware of the problem and didn't do anything to correct it! There are numerous other stores, even other Walmarts that really do care about their customers and I'll shop with them from now on. read more

Much nicer than the Walmart by me. I love how they have self check out and like Patrick said, they have the largest variety of Greek yogurt that I have ever seen. They also have a reasonably priced nail salon inside. I saw that they typically have pedicures for $25 and a gel manicure for $40. Large and clean Walmart. I despise Wal-Mart. Most of the employees here are rude. The night stock people are the worst. The only really nice employee is the older man they have as a greeter. He's always so cheerful and nice and he makes sure to greet and say goodbye to each customer. Their aisles are too small for even carts to fit through, let alone two carts at the same time going opposite ways. It seems like every time I need something, they're out of it for weeks at a time. The pharmacy at this location is so painfully disorganized, it took them nearly 4 hours to fill a prescription. When my husband and I returned for pick up they informed us they've been out of the medication for over 10 days. As much as I'd rather not admit it, there have been times when I've shopped at Walmart rather than a local store. This time I had to shop there to pick up some natural sleep aiding medication over the counter. Fortunately, I found the item quickly and got out of the store after a few minutes. It's probably because I went so early that I got through the checkout line in such a short amount of time. Plus, the lady in front of me told me to go in front of her because she had a cart with a lot of items in it. Very nice! I thanked her, humbly. As I got out of the store I was glad to have remembered the row number that I parked in! Before, being in a rush, I've entered the store without paying attention to where I've parked, only thinking about what I was there to buy. Upon leaving, looking for my car down the wrong row and not finding it, I had that worried, that sinking feeling... of course, I did find my car, in the next row. Phew! read more

There are at least six people waiting at each check out but you do not hear them paging anymore check out people to come up front. it took me longer to check out than I spent shopping. My daughter had a bad flat tire and it was an odd size. We went to Firecreek and they didn't have one so they called the auto center here and they had the tire we needed. Nervously drove in bad weather on donut spare. Long story short the tire was destroyed so they replaced it and charged us a very nominal fee. They were nice, professional, and we were really impressed how much they went out their way for us. Thank you Firecreek auto center for all the help locating a tire and a huge thank you to this Wal Mart for getting us back on the road!!!!! read more
