A buddy of mine found this restaurant while we were traveling through Walnut on a school trip. The food looked so good that we decided to leave without permission, but we were caught and reprimanded with a week's worth of lunch detentions. However, I would gladly do it again. Local hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant with generous lunch specials. They're open for takeout and delivery during coronavirus, which was great to know since my mom was craving hot and sour soup. We ordered over the phone and it took only ~15 minutes for the food to be ready. There's a small parking lot and they do take credit card. The lunch specials are a really good deal, as they are very generous with the portion size and they have a lot of options. They come with fried or white rice, a veggie egg roll, and a cracker. The salt and pepper pork chop is on the saltier side, and the texture is similar to Taiwanese popcorn chicken. The chicken lo mein was a bit bland but the texture of the noodles was nice and chewy. The cashew chicken was my favorite, and was still good the next day when we had the leftovers. 3 lunch specials and one hot and sour soup came out to be $31 so it's very friendly on the wallet. read more

I specifically asked for no shell fish but was brought out a fried shrimp side which was fine. But the plate of food was sub par the egg drop soup started was kinda weird looking and tasted weird. I have been coming here for years to order the Wonton soup. Today (the day after thanksgiving), I was very disappointed. I ordered 4 containers of my beloved wonton soup to share with others and was disgusted. My family and I spit the soup out as the wontons were not fully cooked. They were doughy, mushy and falling apart. Second disappointment was the shrimp in the soup was breaded. It was as if coconut shrimp or tempura shrimp had been thrown in the soup and it was soggy. My boyfriend and I are total opposites! But they say opposites attract right? :) He loves Chinese food while I love Mexican food, so we ended up getting two separate dinners last night. He ordered the Shrimp Chop Suey and Pork Salt and Pepper (both orders came out to be $16.30). The food was freshly cooked and still warm when we brought it back home! The pork had very few bones (which means there was more meat!), and plenty of shrimp! Both items came with rice, egg rolls, and fried shrimp on the side! My favorite item was the fried shrimp. It was a nice surprise with the meal. Reason for my 3 stars? We didn't even get a chance to dine in, but the place was disgusting. I ordered the king pao chicken which came with egg drop soup and fried rice. It was delicious. My partner ordered sweet and sour chicken and upgraded to noodles (which was chow mein) for $1 and also got the same soup. The noodles was good but I did not try the chicken. Comes with soup, (usually hot and sour or egg drop) wonton, eggroll, choice of entree, steamed rice/fried rice or noodles. Stand out entrees from the daily specials are the lemon chicken, shrimp with lobster sauce, orange peel chicken, Mongolian beef and shrimp lo mein. If you do pick up, soup is not included. The regular sized entrees are great too. Sizzling steak with black pepper, sweet and pungent shrimp, walnut shrimp, fish fillet with black bean sauce is delicious. You know, I know Honey Walnut Shrimp is probably at the top of the highly inauthentic American Chinese food list, but I love it so much. Since the name walnut was in the title, this dish caught my eye. Surely there's no correlation between the name and the dish, but those wonderful fried morsels slathered in mayo and candied walnuts just hit the spot so hard. It was a pretty penny for this entree, which is pretty typical now with inflation and COVID recovery hitting everything like a tsunami, but I thought it was more than filling and an absolute guilty pleasure.
