Cute bar. Very busy on a Friday night. Youngish vibes, which is totally cool. But I felt a little old there cool 70s bowling, Midwest vibes. Retro pinballs and a chill back patio. The hot dogs were good, basic but good. Service was cool the bar staff were nice. Idk if I would come back but it was a a total vibe.....

4.5 I always drive past this place and finally ventured in. They host a women's pinball tournament every 2nd Monday so I went to check it out. The place was packed for a Monday! I ordered a vegan dog and Mexican coke. The vegan dog was pretty good! I only wish it were more filling. Even my friend that ordered the normal hot dog didn't feel full. If you plan to go for dinner, I recommend ordering two hot dogs to fill you up. The space itself is so creative and it's clear that there's a consistent community that liven up the place. P.S There's a surprise sticker machine and a photo booth.

Waltz has a pretty cool vibe and lights up the little town of Eagle Rock. The bar is fairly unorganized, and we couldn't figure out where the line to order drinks was. It's pretty small inside, but there's a handful of tables outside, which is where we ended up sitting. I was kinda freezing outside at night though. I got the Radler, which was pretty good. I like lighter, sweeter drinks, and this definitely hit the spot.

Always driven by here and wondered what it was, finally got the chance to stop in and play some pinball with my friends while enjoying a beer and PRETZELS! Very attentive bar tenders and such lively music and energy coming from both the indoor and outdoor spaces!

Great pinball arcade! Had some unique vintage machines like the coin engraver, peanut vending machine, ziggy. There's even a Photo Booth in the back patio for $7. All machines accept quarters. Service was quick and friendly. It was busy on a Tuesday night so street parking is a bit difficult. Bathrooms are clean. There's indoor bar seating, out door seating in the front and back. Got the strawberry sour don't recommend. Would definitely come back on Wednesday for their $5 pinball tournament tho

Great pinball bar- arcade located in the Eaglerock area. They have some craft beer options as well as some cheaper beer options like Hamm's. They also have some simple bar snacks as well, including hotdogs, pretzels, etc. The service here is really quick and this place overall has that old-school field to it. For some reason when I walked in here, that first diner scene of the original Children of the Corn popped into my mind, and I mean that in a good way, haha. The pinball games here range from older to slightly more modern, but still overall the pinball machines range on the older side. Definitely a lot of fun to play with some friends while drinking beers. Even if you're not here to play pinball games it's still a fun bar to hang out and drink beers. This is a type of place that I probably would've hung out at a lot with my buddies when we lived in the Silver Lake area in the late aughts early 2010's. Street parking could be a challenge depending on when you get here, but I was able to find parking about a block away.

Nostalgic spot on Eagle Rock Blvd. Really enjoy the decor and chill diner feel. Craft beer and a light menu (corndogs, popcorn, pretzels), and they have one of the cleanest restrooms I've ever used. As a lifelong resident of Highland Park/ Eagle Rock, it makes me happy to see they've kept the Old Connor's Plumbing sign. The only down side, is that you'd have to walk to York to get to the next bar. Check this place out! read more

I love it. It's the perfect opposite to all of the silly little over priced and over menu hipster/millennial places that are popping up. Simple, low cost food and good beer in a place I can relax for a while. I never felt unwelcome and I never felt lost/confused at their concept: I only felt the desire to go back. read more

Cute place with a hipster vibe. Fred is the owner of this cute place. We came here to play the pinball machines. They had a nice selection with a fun diner looking bar. Beer is good Peanut were yummy Bartender was super friendly The bar was super busy Parking was easy I will definitely come back! They also have Wednesday night pinball tournaments. read more

Drinks/atmosphere is fine but the bartender has been sexist or rude every time I've come in, without fail. He told my girl friends, who are 22, that if they order a drink they better not make fools of themselves. He gave me what he called "his life advice" that I should tip him more for handing me a pre-made hot dog which cost 3 dollars. He also asked me if this was my first time at a bar... I'm in my mid 20's. I've held my tongue and been respectful each time, but he needs to be made aware of his inappropriate behavior. He clearly thinks he is better than anyone who is female or who is under the age of 26. Go here if you truly have no where else to go for a drink and a dog at 11pm. read more

I have been to Walt's Bar for two of their pinball tournaments. The beer is great, the pinball machines are fantastic, and it's a great place to meet new people. All of this said, Jeff the owner who also runs the tournament is very rude, condescending, and treated me like I was an idiot. As much as I would like to give this place four or five stars, my recent experience has reduced their rating to a one maybe two stars. I don't need to drive out of my way to visit a place that doesn't make me feel welcomed or treats me like a dimwit. I really enjoyed coming to this bar, but they have lost my adherence. Don't give off fake friendliness and kindness. I'm so disappointed with Walt's Bar. read more

I don't quite get the decor, however I love it. I love the neon chicken next to the decapitated heads. I love the weird wallpaper and the gender neutral bathrooms. I love the money sucking pinball machines. And I love that they carry one of my favorite grapefruit radlers. read more

I come here for a drink with my friends after a long week of work. I am very happy that they opened this place up out here, because it is just a mile away from my job. They have a great drink selection, and the pinball machines are definitely a great touch, because I used to be addicted to them in my youth. Great vibes here! read more

Wow maybe I'm not down to earth enough for this shit. I've always been told I'm down to earth af, but considering that I'm the only sub par review here maybe I'm more Kim K. than I thought. The whole concept of this tiny bar with the pinball machines is cool but I guess I need more? You can't be ALL nostalgia and be hip can you? I wanted to like Walt's bar... heck I was in love with the prospect of Walt's bar BUT we are living in a world where I can order wine to be delivered to my house with a a few taps on my phone. There's probably like 6 pinball machines and they're mainly those old school ones the Fonz popped his collar up and broke records on. I needed flashing lights and bling bling noises. They have hot nuts machine dispensing peanuts for a few quarters... hot dogs twirling in an old school weinie rotating roaster... neon signs... those old ass tables that look sticky but aren't ... it really felt like I was in back to the future... but I just wanted to go back to my hover board and self tying shoes. If all those things are giving you a nostalgia boner you'll probably LOVE THIS PLACE. Check it out for yourself... as for me I thought that bar 82 is way more fun. read more

i love how casual and easy this place is. great people watching with none of that pretentious hipster vibe you get in some other nearby places. a neighborhood spot that is just plain cool. it's only beer and wine, the music is always interesting and we always have such a fun time! read more

Welcome to Stranger Things. This place is a 70s/80s themed bar with vertical wood paneling and kitschy decor. They should play 80s music though... Pinball is super fun. Elote pretzel looked good. Crowd matches the decor. Low key good time in Eagle Rock. Hope this place sticks around. read more

They have Hamm's! The pretzels are hot and tasty. Oh, and vintage pinball machines (although I prefer the more modern ones at Button Mash better) that have beer holders on either side. read more

I was really excited to hear a barcade was coming to Eagle Rock. It's always fun to play some games while having a drink. I then found out that all the games were pinball, which I don't typically care for, but my gf and I decided to check it out anyway. It was fairly easy to find parking in the area. The ambience was great, and sort of reminded us of a bar we'd see back in Chicago. For some reason, I feel like not having the other game options made the pinball more fun, I got pretty into it. Great place to meet up with some friends and have a few drinks. read more

I finally got to check this bar out since its kind of new in the area that I live in. My friend and I came on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy. Their beers were pretty good and decently priced and their pinball machines were very vintage and classic. But I thought this place was just alright. It had a chill vibe but I just wish there were more to it. read more

I wished and wished for a bar like this to open in NELA and poof here came Walt's- so YOU'RE WELCOME! Some well-maintained pinball machines rotated out every now and then keeps you from getting attached. I do miss Bad Cats, but there's always something to keep you coming. The music slays. The beer and wine list is small but mighty, yeah the wine feels pricey, maybe it's really nice wine? Not sure -would be cool to have some non-headache $8 wine options, but at a place like Walt's you really just can't complain. It is the temporary antidote to a lot of what's terrible. And somehow they make a truly legendary pretzel. I've never ever had a bad time at Walt's. read more

Walt's is now our favorite bar in LA. It's rad. They did a ton of work building it out and it looks awesome, great selection of pins, solid beer, great staff, and great music. We also had a veggie dog and Walt's hot salted nuts which were super salty, but we dug it. We can't wait to visit again. read more

Went to Walts bar today. Just stopped in to see the new place. Grabbed 2 delicious hot dogs and a German beer pretzel. I had a Mexican Coke that brought me back to my childhood. My GF had a glass of wine. It was a perfect place for a quick getaway and some games of Pinball. I need to make plans for the beer specials and the pinball tournament. read more

Terrible bartender. Ruined my experience at this place. This bartender scolded me for not tipping when I had ordered a $3 canned beer. I had full intention of tipping upon ordering my last drink but what he said next changed my mind. He followed up this rude comment by asking if it was my first time in a bar because I "clearly had no bar etiquette." He then went on to say that it's up to him to give people life lessons that they never learned. He finished by saying that if I have no intention of tipping then I should just stay home. His condescending attitude is unacceptable and will be the reason I no longer frequent Walt's. The hot pretzel is the only reason this review got one star. read more

A couple of the machines took our coins but the games never started which was a bummer but we just moved on. We later saw people playing on them so it was probably something we did wrong. The place was a good vibe with a do playing music. We spent about an hour before we decided to check another place out. My husband and I had a lot of fun. I was very disappointed by the lack of understanding and accommodation shown toward my son, who has…read moreautism. My son only drinks water from a specific cup due to his sensory needs. When we asked for an accommodation, the security guard was rude and told us that if my son wanted water, he could walk all the way to the entrance every time, despite the distance from the bowling area. Hoping to resolve the issue, I spoke with the manager, Luis Gonzalez, but unfortunately he was just as dismissive and uninformed about autism and disabilities. Rather than listening and showing compassion, he was rude and unwilling to understand my son's needs. Businesses that serve families should make an effort to educate their staff about disabilities and neurodiversity. With autism becoming more widely recognized, basic awareness, empathy, and reasonable accommodations should not be too much to ask. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and unsupported. I will also be reaching out to upper management, including Cynthia Torres, to make her aware of this situation and to see whether changes can be made. As an autism mom, it is my responsibility to advocate not only for my son but for other individuals with autism and disabilities as well. No family should have to experience being dismissed or treated without understanding when simply requesting reasonable accommodations. My hope is that this feedback leads to better education, awareness, and compassion from staff so that all guests feel welcomed and respected.

It's not a barcade like EightyTwo or Player One so it's alcohol free. They're all welcoming and very personable. I do know they have a capacity limit and weekend tend to be the busiest until around 4 or 5 pm. Nights and weekends are definitely lower in foot traffic, but still great energy. I don't make it over too often, but highly recommend experiencing once or thrice. They just had a cool 50% off hourly prices for Bonus Level Loyalty Club members, and yes it's free to be a member :) Local street (meter), paid lot and garage parking available. I found that the small machines were much easier to win prizes (maybe by intention) and the larger machines had such cute prizes but loose grip strength in the claw making it harder to win the bigger, good prizes. So all of a sudden your tokens start vanishing quickly. I had 50 token credits and ended up with two medium sized plushies and 6 small items, which for me is on the smaller end of a haul. Still had fun but other claw arcades may give you a better win rate. Parking is plentiful, in the same lot as a Dollar Tree and several other stores.

This place is not only affordable, but you put one coin for each machine for one play. It's really fair and wants you to win. One of the things that made this theater special was the full-service experience. The 80s movie-themed atmosphere, extensive food and drink menu, and attentive servers made it feel like much more than a typical theater. Recently, they've switched to online ordering, and it has really changed the experience. Instead of quickly looking through a menu and placing an order with a server, you can end up spending much of the 30-minute pre-show period staring at your phone. That defeats part of the reason I come here in the first place. I've also noticed that the menu has been scaled back significantly. Some of my favorite items, including the breakfast sandwiches and other offerings, have disappeared. I used to recommend this theater not only because of its movie-loving atmosphere but also because of the quality and variety of the food. I don't come here for standard movie-theater snacks. I come for the great food, good beer and cocktails, nostalgic atmosphere, and overall experience. If the new ownership continues cutting back on what made this place unique, they risk losing loyal regulars. At that point, I might as well go to AMC if I'm just looking for typical movie-theater food. I hope management listens to customer feedback and preserves the qualities that made this theater stand out.
