How this horrid restaurant got four stars is beyond me. First we ordered $46 dollars of the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten in my life, and we have traveled all over the country. The shrimp was at least twice deep fried so hard no one could eat it. The rice was mush. The pot stickers were grease balls and the chicken asparagus was overcooked. My family went hungry, the manager lady at Wan lung refused to refund anything and kept trying to push more horrible food. THEY will not refund your money if the food is not fit to eat. We had to throw it away, even the wild cat wouldn't eat the shrimp and he's skin and bones, so I gave him milk. If you like edible food DONT! eat here its scary and horrible and they aren't nice people. WE even gave them a $5 tip on take out, gee what nice people. Lesson learned never again will we throw money away at Wan LUNG GARBAGE restaurant. read more

We've now had take out from Wan Lung's several times and I find it's hit and miss, mostly hit, which is why we keep coming back. Seems to have gone down hill last few months or so. Been going here since they opened- always a good "go to" type of place. Has always been a bit greasy - but lately the amount of grease is way too much to recommend Wan Lung any more. I have been coming here for over seven years. I have brought many people with me over the years and have turned them into fans as well! The food is well priced and you receive large portions. There was only one time I had an issue and the BBQ Pork I ordered was extremely dry, when I brought it to the waitresses attention she took it to the back and brought me out a new one that was delicious! I usually order the family dinner A with Happy Family and 10 ingredient Chow Mein. The Happy Family is always delicious as is the Chow Mein, although as several people have pointed out, it is a little greasy. The only reason I did not give it five stars is for the oily Chow Mein, the horrible decor and the waitresses leave a little to be desired. So I've eaten here a few times now. I usually get either the combo #1 or #2, with spring rolls and egg flour soup. Everything is good really. The chow mein is usually pretty heavy on the garlic, which is fine, tasty even, and has lots of veggies and soft noodles. Someone else mentioned their food tastes oily, which I agree with, but as an occasional thing I'm fine with that. It doesn't taste bad, I don't mind the oily taste at all, I am just acutely aware that what I'm eating is not healthy. As I said though, sometimes you just want to say screw it, that greasy tasty meal is what I need right now! I like the way they package the to-go food as well. Both my usual orders have sweet and sour sauce, one chicken and one pork. They put your fried pork/chicken nuggets in your styrofoam plate, and package the sauce, a good amount too, in a styrofoam bowl on the side. So your chicken or pork doesn't get soggy. You can then either pour the sauce over your food, or do what I do and dunk. This isn't someplace you'll want to eat everyday, especially if you're very health conscious, but I love having them just up the street for when I have one of those days and need a greasy delicious American Chinese food meal to complete my day. read more

So much better than we expected for just winging it! We arrived, were seated right away and the patient waitress was prompt to take our order. *Patient* because I was hungry and confused and was excited to be there and was bungling up our order! Not super outgoing, but hey ... not everyone's Ms. Congeniality. The arrival of the food was super fast! Soup - BOOM! Main meal - BOOM! And it was a LOT of food and SUPER DELICIOUS! The textures were just what I had been craving - super FRESH! The cabbage and other vegetables in the egg rolls were not mushy at all and, even though I wanted some meat in them (which they don't have), they were very satisfying and I actually ordered more to go with my leftovers for later. The combination plates we ordered had chicken chow mein but didn't have fried rice. I didn't realize this until later but it was fine because I'd already ordered some chicken fried rice on the side for my son and it was a mondo amount so we all had some and it was very good. The chow mein (which is more like lo mein) was very good too - good flavor, great texture. The broccoli and beef on the combo was very good. The sauce was gingery and stood out, the broccoli was tender-crisp and the meat was very tender due to velveting. We also had a side order of the BBQ pork that was just a bit dry, but there was a healthy amount on the platter. I'm not too worried about that because everything else was so good that I'm sure this was probably just a fluke that day. We just sat down and were instantly served hot tea and ice water, followed shortly by soup and fried rice after placing our order. And the food came out much faster than we expected, right after we finished the soup. For $12, we got a pot of tea, two cups of egg flour soup, two cups of fried rice, a spring roll, a side of BBQ pork, a plate of shrimp chow mein, and a plate of orange chicken. I've given this place 4-5 chances. Every single time, the food was either below average or terrible to the point I couldn't finish it and had to throw the rest out. The worst Chinese food I've had in my life to be honest. They give out big dinner portions but what are big portions if it doesn't taste good? The staff/cash register ladies are very nice so I hate to give them a poor review, so I apologize to them and their hard work - hence the two stars as opposed to one. This is the closest Chinese restaurant to where I live which is why I gave it a few tries hoping they were just bad nights. The last thing I had was 'Happy Family' and 'Chicken & Broccoli'.. the chicken had the weirdest texture and made me think I'd get sick from eating it. Plus, cornstarch overload. I've never had bad experience with a 'Happy family' dish but the seasoning was bizarre - had some odd cinnamon flavor. The egg flower soup and hot n' sour soup are the only things that were decent enough to finish. Maybe sometime next year, I'll give it one last shot. read more

I don't even want to give one star. Not after what my family endured our entire weekend. It all started, last Friday when my husband tells me he wants to try Wan Lung. So we order take out. I get the shrimp mu shu, my husband ordered the General Tso's chicken and my 4 year old ate from our plates. When I opened the container to my food I was surprised at how much there was and it didn't look appetizing with mushy vegetables and some shrimp thrown in. I picked the shrimp out and barely ate the vegetables. My husband gave me his egg flower soup which was good, and a couple bites of his chicken. My son ate from my husbands chicken as well. When we were done, we threw a lot of food away. On Saturday morning my son woke up saying he had to throw up. I didn't think anything of it because he gets sick from other kids at preschool then rests and gets better. Then Sunday at 11am I became very sick (all signs of food poisoning) then Sunday night my husband became violently ill. We all missed work and school Monday morning and now it's Tuesday and we are still not 100%. I will never go back. I hope nobody else gets sick and the cooks/managers take head to making sure the food is better prepared and hands are washed before serving. read more

Went on a Saturday night. The interior was 60's diner and steamy due to the open kitchen. The almond chicken was the blandest Chinese dish I have had in years. The crispy eggplant was covered in the thickest batter I have seen outside of the state fair (think deep fried kool-aid). There was as much batter as eggplant. Portions, however, were huge. There are better choices in the Clackamas/Milwaukie area for Chinese. read more

My wife went there today for the first time. my wife grabbed a menu and proceeded to ask the lady behind the counter a question, but before my wife even asked her question, the lady behind the counter pointed at the menu and said IS IN THERE with an irritated voice, she made no eye contact with my wife and while playing with her cell phone the entire time. the lady seemed very aggravated and not once did she acknowledge my wife. she was very rude and arrogant with my wife. My wife is black and I perceived this lady behind the counter to be racist as she was not like that with the rest of the customers. she gave everyone else in there her full attention. My wife was the only customer of color when this took place. I was later told that this lady is possibly the owner or the manager. very sad to think that things like this are still going on in our country. We will never visit this place. read more

Have eaten here a couple times before and it was decent. Last time we ordered to go they forgot one of our items We ordered but charged us for it. Since the food is decent we tried it again last night. The food was not good. I don't know what has changed but the noodles in the chow mien were hard and dry, the orange chicken had barely any sauce and huge chunks of actual orange peel that were breaded that looked like chicken but you couldn't chew threw them.
