Our post covid wedding dinner was amazing! We had the scallops for appetizer which was cooked to perfection. Hubby had the halibut which was also cooked to perfection! I couldn't help but pick on his plate throughout our whole dinner! I had the filet which was amazing as well. Every single plate was delish! We finished ALL our plates dry. Cocktails were beautifully crafted, unique, and tasty as well. Their pina colada isn't blended which was interesting but still tasty. The patio dining experience during sunset was beautiful especially with the fountain view in the backdrop. Due to covid, they are only offering patio seating at the moment. First the restaurant decor and atmosphere are great! Looks high end! The staff are attentive and very personable. We had a live guitarist which added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. What brings the restaurant down is the food. It is beautifully plated... but that is where it ends. If you only ate with your eyes this place would get 5 stars! We started with the oysters... we travel a lot and always try oysters when we go to higher end restaurants. They looked big and plated nice BUT... the tasted incredibly fishy and salty. It's like they shucked them and then dunked them in sea water but never drained the shells. I could get past the salt water in the shell but they tasted so bad and fishy. If these were the first oysters that I tried... I would never try oysters again! We were told they were bringing out bread... but never did. Our drinks came out and actually thought that they may redeem the bad oysters. But then the second share plate of scallops... overcooked and salty! It's like the chef had someone tell him he didn't know how to season anything... so he said "hold my beer" and send it! So glad I had my drink to quench my thirst after that! We then got the baby lamb chops, which were actually good, BUT like everything else... SALTY! It's like they could contain the salt shaker! They definitely don't skimp on the sodium for you! We wanted to try more but just so turned off by the food so far that we decided to just finish with another drink to bring it back to a ok dinner (the old fashion was really good). Water table is located in the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach and as a special anniversary gift, they provided us with complimentary breakfast every morning during our stay. So, we decided to try out their menu one day and their buffet the other, so we could get a sample of their options. First off, the restaurant is beautiful with a nice open patio area that connects to the hotel courtyard and a gorgeous view of the ocean. We decided to sit out there the first day while enjoying breakfast on a nice sunny day with a cocktail. The service was grade A with our waitress being super amazing and funny. I remember ordering the crab hash with a raspberry beret, while loving both of them. My wife ordered the avocado Detox with egg and she seemed to enjoy it. I did try a bite and it didn't compare to my hash, but still very good. The second day we tried the buffet and automatically went straight to the omelette bar. It was your typical buffet with nothing extra or special but again, the decor in the restaurant just set the mood for a wonderful experience. When you say and ate in the restaurant you almost didn't feel like you were in a hotel and that's what I loved about it. I am considering a few things in my reviews, according to the everchanging Yelp guidelines. Great service staff, I applaud that. WT has booths across from the bar that are acoustically nice, and great for disabled accessibility. Despite some uncontrolled, screaming children that other diners bring into the bar area booths for dinner. Quite good cocktails, a good wine selection that is not apparent on the website, look it up when you arrive. Bread was dead, could've brought our own, but good creamery butter, which is quite easy to get anywhere. The NY Strip, Prime, quite nice, bit bloody in the center for medium rare. A purported "8 ounces" though once cooked, you get the six ounces at best. Ah the wonderful asparagus on the side, here's a clue, snap the hard root stems off the asparagus, with your hand, it's food 101. Must've been training day. Or maybe most days are. Scallops, seared perfectly. Though the scallops themselves were near catfood, smelled like it upon delivery. We dropped by Watertable for lunch, the fancy restaurant at the Hyatt Regency HB. We thought we would try something different vs previously reviewed Pete's Grille. Maybe its just bc it was lunch, but the food wasn't as good as Pete's IMHO. I ordered the corn soup to start ($6), and a Main Street ($10 | lettuce, avocado & tomato) w/ chicken breast (+$6). First of all, the soup was too thick and it was bland: 3 Stars. Likewise, the bread in the sandwich didn't have any flavor. In addition, the produce was really fresh, but the chicken breast could have used a marinade before being grilled. Lastly, I would have preferred fries vs chips: 3 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, its nice in here. There is a nice bar to your right as you walk in, as well as some high tables. There is also outdoor seating and couch seating towards the rear: 4 Stars. Our server Jennifer L was pretty nice and attentive. The food came out quickly, and she was friendly: 4 Stars. As I said, maybe dinner is better. We made a reservation at Watertable through Open Table which was very convenient. We decided to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with dinner there although we'd never been. We have found our new favorite restaurant! As is the norm now with COVID, indoor seating was minimal and we chose to sit on the heated outdoor patio which is lovely. Our server, Ian, was prompt and very gracious and helped us make our choices by answering questions from drinks to dessert! We started with the baby lamb chops which were amazing, we each had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and ended with the six degrees of chocolate dessert which was decadent and delicious and a perfect way to finish our Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm so glad that my sister and I decided to dine here! Pros: Food: Flavors are on point! We shared an asparagus salad and a watertable burger. We then understood the price point because the flavors were outstanding. The asparagus salad should really be called "arugula salad" because it's mostly arugula, but the burrata was amazing and really complimented the flavors. The watertable burger was definitely sizeable and had a slight truffle taste to it, and the fries were perfectly seasoned, it honestly didn't even need the dip. The views are gorgeous and they have heat lamps, so you can dine outside without fear of getting too cold. Indoor ambience was elegant and cozy, with fireplaces, and all. Cons: Parking isn't too great, if you decide to park on the street, just because it's so busy. They do allow for valet and can validate for up to 4 hours, I believe, which is awesome. We parked on the street and paid $2 and figured that was cheaper than a valet tip lol. I do kind of wish that our waiter offered us fresh cracked pepper for the asparagus salad, and I know that if we asked, he would have offered, but we ended up eating most of it before we talked about that haha. Best Brunch in Orange County . Unique recipes great service and staff . They had a pulled pork sweet potato dish that was out of this world . The bacon is one of the best bacons I've had in my life .Sausage too. The chef at the omelet station was entertaining to watch make up my special omelet with all the fresh vegetable's and choices to cook in the omelet. They have a fresh fruit and salad bar . Their food table had delicious looking vegetable items and vegan items . They had nice assortment of cereals and out meals . There were lots of rolls, muffins , croissants, jellies, flavored butters to feed those not into eggs or meats. All the food was five stars as was the service from the time you call till the time you eat and leave. And to top it off you have the most amazing California beach views inside or out. The staff is wonderful security waiters were all awesome friendly and fast . I had a bad experience there as a liar super Karen lady I was trying to serve knew the hotel and was hiding from being served with court documents for assault which she got a three year restraining order and was trying to pull strings. They have seen the assault video the Fake Karen aftermath and creepy letters and posts and were amazed. After the truth was revealed and I made up with security all is great. Because I have wanted to eat here forever and glad I did. Forget the view , if this restaurant was in a sweaty hot place in the desert it would still get five stars for the flavors in the recipes and menu. Then you have the five star chefs and servers and counter people. This is Orange County , Californias finest brunch spots . We were here for 3 of our breakfasts daily and I truly looked forward to waking up so I could enjoy the view and the amazing food. Most of the dishes that we ordered came out perfectly seasoned and drinks were great too. Not a huge fan of their speciality drinks that we tried of the first day (lavender latte , chai) and so I just stuck with coffee and juices the next 2 days. The drinks were delicious, the presentation was beautiful, and of course, the food was exquisite! To start, we had the pan seared scallops, grilled baby lamb chops and bone marrow (not pictured) - all of which were delicious. For an entrée I had the 8 oz Prime New York - beautifully cooked! Watertable makes the best breakfast in town. I have tried the chicken and waffles years ago. Today I wanted to try Crab Hash. Man, it was heaven in every bite. The crab hash was amazing and the egg benedict was hands down perfection. Yes, it's $19 a plate but for a good reason. You get what you pay for and this is definitely a slice of morning heaven. Compliments to the chef for keeping breakfast wonderful. Our server was nice and respectfully attentive. Overall, this restaurant makes fantastic breakfast. So my wife and I met our friends here for a date night. Lovely restaurant with wonderful friendly servers. So the 4 of us ordered 2 appetizers, no salad or soup, just for entrées (no tomahawk steaks just average entrées). 2 bottles of the least expensive chardonnay which were $90 each ($24 at pretty much any market) and 1 desert. One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. I actually booked this restaurant on open table as a mistake, but what a great mistake it was. We came on a Sunday evening, which means they have their Sunday super prefixed meals that u choose from. There are two price options that u can pick from. Each option allows to you to choose one appetizer to share and one vegetable for each person, an entree, a starch to go with the entree, and dessert. The classic option is $42 per person and the special is $46 dollars a person. Biscuits were also provided for the table. We both picked the butternut squash and apple salad, asparagus, and mushrooms for our appetizer and vegetable. It was a good amount of food. My fiancé ordered the steak and fries and I ordered the branzino and potatoes. We also had no bake cheesecake and cinnamon whoppie pie. Everything we had, and I mean everything, was super delicious, the portions were amazing and we actually didn't finish everything. I'm so glad I accidentally booked this place. Preface: My family and I were staying at the hotel when we popped in for breakfast. We were not expecting anything special or original. Hotel breakfasts are usually overpriced and above average with nothing original on the menu. (My opinion and my experiences at least.) So we sat down as a convenience or by chance. The menu: The have all the usual stuff, but there's a very "Cali" flair to the options. There's an entire section of Benedict. Not one or two, but four different types. I went for the SoCa Benedict. (See pic.) It's like half Benedict and half chicken n waffle but it's 100% delicious. The hollandaise has a little kick, the eggs were perfectly poached, the chicken is perfectly fried and there's a little slaw for some crunch and to to temper the sriracha. There's also an amazing kids menu and an all you can eat breakfast, with every traditional breakfast menu item you can imagine. So long story short, we had a great meal here and while it was on the pricy side of breakfast, the portions were large and menu had some personality. While we did not experience dinner at Watertable, we did have breakfast multiple times as hotel guests. Standout entree for me was the corned beef hash eggs benedict. A large helping of corned beef with some well-prepared potatoes and perfectly cooked eggs, I would definitely recommend this and will likely get this again when I return. They have a lot of options to please everybody, from heavier options like the SoCa Benedict (a bit too "blah" for me in flavor) and some intriguing-sounding breakfast salads and various "lighter" options like fruit bowls, yogurt parfaits, smoothies, etc. They also have a breakfast buffet that we tried out. It had the usual buffet items (eggs, potatoes, bacon, etc.) with a couple of unique-ish items (cured meats and cheeses, rotating hot options, smoked salmon and various accoutrements). We tried this one morning and it was better than a typical breakfast buffet spread and is probably worth at least one try, but the menu entrees are definitely worth sticking to. Buffet is $30 and children under a certain age (I believe 5?) can enjoy the buffet for free. The price is quite reasonable and portions were very generous. We walked in at varying times over 4 visits and never had to wait longer than 20 minutes. Staff members were all friendly and some even remembered us between visits. My review is only for the service because I can not rate the food because I'm still waiting for it even after people sat after me have completed their meals and gone off to enjoy the rest of their day. It's unfortunate because I had such an amazing weekend at the resort that this one moment would leave a bad taste in my mouth without even being served a meal. I don't want to play the race card cause that would be too easy but something is not right here and when your the only person of color here that is waiting for their food it's not a good look. I will review the food once it comes out. Changed my score from a 1 to a 3 because after speaking with the staff I feel that this incident is not a true reflection on this establishment. Although there are definitely areas of opportunity I want to thank the staff for allowing us to voice our frustrations. The food was great! I would rate the blueberry pancakes second just behind my favorite at Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach. The eggs were poached well and bacon was good too. Salmon was ok it was seasoned and cooked well but was missing something. The potatoes to seasoning ratio was 5:1 I strongly believe the next time we visit the service will be at a higher level.
