I used to actually like this place. I haven't been in a very long time & decided to stop by the other night when I wanted/needed something good and filling to eat. Service was quick because it was pretty empty. I was first disappointed because the flavor that I wanted was not on the menu in store , although I looked up their menu before arriving. Then, once I got my food I instantly wasn't hungry anymore. The wings were so tiny and DRENCHED in sauce. They had more sauce on my plate than wings. The wings used to be so huge that the plate could barely close. The sauce was straight out of the bottle , no type of jazzing it up to make their own. Just straight bbq and straight hot sauce. That's when I realize that the restaurant was full but no one had food in front of them! About an hour later, I received my food and couldn't believe how small the wings were. Everything about this place was excellent. The waitress was informative and friendly, the restaurant was clean. You can sit at a counter that overlooks the Mississippi and watch the boats as you eat. The wings were some of the best I've ever had. The Garlic Parmesan wings were flavorful and coated perfectly. The fries are great with just a hint of seasoning. The prices are very good for the great food. Don't think of this as "mall food". This restaurant is excellent and been on par with the restaurants we've tried throughout New Orleans. read more

Awful service, they charge you for upgrades and then inform you they're out of the upgrade after you've already been charged you for it. They gave our food to another customer and then gave it to us after the customer realized their order was wrong. Avoid! Horrible experience Saturday at lunch. Counterperson sat behind counter to take our order, charging us for drinks that were included. Could barely understand her; she needs training on customer service. Fried shrimp was dry, with no cocktail sauce or even ketchup for the fries. We loved the food here. You order at the counter (or order ahead) and it's ready in a jiffy. I got shrimp tossed in Korean bbq and it was soooo good. My husband got wings with a lemon pepper sauce and he devoured them. We got a 32 oz Hurricane to share and it was ok- the food was a lot better than the drink. After traveling all day, I arrived to my hotel room tired and hungry. Solo travel with after 9 pm arrival makes for a very cautious experience. Instead of exploring my surroundings I opted for We Dat's Chicken and Shrimp via "Uber Eats". I ordered the 10 piece chicken wings (5 wuzzam, 5 sweet heat) 1 piece of catfish as an add-on and a fountain sprite. My order arrived in a timely fashion, however it may have been too timely I'm guessing since they forgot to include my Catfish. The wing platter looked phenomenal, the well bags were extra saucy (like I like) I was disappointed in the fact that they sent me all drums as that was not a "request." Honestly I prefer "flats" and they had an option for only "drums" or only "flats" for $1.00 more (very reasonable pricing) however I opted for mixed combo which I did not get. Honestly the wings were really good. I enjoyed the kick of the Wuzzam wings while the sweet richness of Sweet Heat did not go unnoticed. The fries were fries they were unseasoned and unsalted but I did request jalapeños to which they obliged. The sprite was flat and watered down which was a let down given the fact that I was extremely thirsty. The wings were good although my takeout/ delivery experience was not. To be fair I've given them 3 stars as I'm unsure how I would feel had I gone in to have a real dining experience. 2 stars were deducted for forgetting my catfish and for only drums read more

It was my last night in New Orleans, and I really didn't want any more red beans and rice or gumbo. Checked out yelp and ran across We Dat Chicken. The restaurant was only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Thankfully, there was no line. We went in and placed our order... even got a military discount. OMG...the wings were amazing! The lemon pepper wings were nice and crispy with a very pronounced lemon pepper flavor. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for great wings. read more

Peeled paint on the seats, dirty floor, and if sitting on the Black seat against the wall, the table is way too low. My drink was extremely flat, tasted horrible. At this point, the line is out of the door by the time we got the chance to order. THEN, we had to wait on the food to be prepared, which took about another 20-25 minutes. Overall, we spent about a hour in this place, JUST TO GET FOOD. We didn't even eat in. Service is amongst the worse. The Food: I ordered the Shrimp Wrap w/ fries and my wife had wings & fries. The wings were TRASH! Horrible! No crisp whatsoever and the flavor wasn't good. My shrimp wrap was decent, wet as ever, but decent. Overall, I think I'm good on We Dat. Because of that, since everything was in the same container, some of my wings were mixed with both sauces. Also, like half my fries were drenched in sauce. It wasn't bad, but it just made my meal feel super heavy. Next time, I'll probably get one dry seasoning and one wet. I think the interior looks really cool. They have awesome illustrations on the walls. The only downside was that the restaurant smelled a little funny. Next time, I'll probably take my order to go than sit inside. Ironically, I had been wanting to give them try for quite some time after seeing them on social media -- it was time to see what all the hype was about. Per the receipt: 6pc Lemon Pepper Wings ($9) - the seasoning had way to much lemon to where I only ate 1-2 (ranch didn't even help). Parmesan Fries ($1) - Where was the cheese?? Lemon Pepper Fries ($1) - what is this? Ranch Cup (.35) - IMO at least 1-2 small cups of ranch should come with each order. You're already paying for a whole pack of wings from the beginning. I ended up just giving my meal to someone who needed it more than I did. Their pricing is way too high for the food they serve despite their popularity.
