Old school diner with a mix of local college and 50's memorability. It's a local chain restaurant but has a family owned business feel. Try the red and green chili mixed (aka Christmas). This place was pretty good! The Fam Bam met here for brunch on the last day of my stay. There were 8 of us. This must be popular because by the time we left the place was packed! I had the chicken & waffles. Hey.... you can't go wrong with a waffle. And that syrup was pretty tasty. I usually prefer chicken wings with my waffles, but the strips were okay as well. I couldn't tell you what everybody else had, but I can tell you that nobody complained. My Mom loved her omlet. She's been here before and that's her go to! Oh, and the coffee is GREAT! I was surprised as diner coffee generally lacks strength. That was not the case here. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the manager even came by to ask us how we enjoyed out meal. So I show up park and wait till the 15 minutes was up and went inside. The girl at the front was very nice. I got the papas breakfast plate with two over medium eggs. Eggs cooked perfectly green and red chili are both good. And such a really large portion that it could feed three people. And for my son I got the kids pancakes. When I tell you that my son got the biggest pancakes I've ever seen here. He was so happy. They came with a side of fresh fruit and whipped cream. The restaurant is exercising excellent enforcement of the mask mandates in place by state and local officials. Greeted quickly and friendly by the hostess and seated promptly. I found a GREAT lil' place right off the Hwy with very easy return to Hwy and plenty of parking for my truck & trailer. A nice variety in the menu and very reasonable prices. Staff were very attentive but not hovering over us. Our 2pm lunch had plenty of seating available. Dining room was bright and cheerful and not to noisy. This restaurant was recommended for breakfast. We were a bit disappointed. My DH ordered the Eggs Benedict, with the ham on the side. Maybe the ham is supposed to prevent the egg and sauce from soaking into the English muffin. When the English muffin is not well toasted (black on the edge and untoasted in the middle) the center becomes uneatable mush. The on duty manager didn't seem sympathic to the concerns' expressed by DH and pointed out that he had managed to each one of the two muffin pieces. Not very nice. I've been to a number of Weck's in the Rio Rancho and Albq. area in the past few months since moving here. This location at 770 Coors is the most consistent location. This is a safe good choice for an honest breakfast. The ham with my eggs is consistently the same size, the same in grilled appearance, and temperature. Other locations are good but size, appearance, and temp. of food is very different. It is obvious that the customer experience is of extreme importance with this chain. Here at 770 the staff and mgmt. carry out their inquiries without being robotic and appear very sincere. They seem to accommodate the customer without fail. At other locations the closer to 2pm, service begins to wane, mistakes in orders are more apparent, and we feel a bit rushed. Here at 770 Coors this has not been felt. So a portion of their sales all day that day went to that non-profit organization. Cool things huh? So, there were 7 of us but the place was pretty barren for the lunch hour. Understandable because Weck's is will known for their breakfast, hell, I even ended up ordering breakfast myself! The experience here started off well enough, we were greeted and orders were taken. So we wait patiently for our meals, and thank goodness for the group of us to keep each other company, because our food sure did take it's time time to get out to us. On top of that our waiters was m.i.a for the whole time! So waters weren't being refilled and we weren't informed of any set backs in the kitchen or anything else that might have been causing us the ridiculous delay in our food. I was pretty anxious to get my meal because I was hungry and excited to try this "Zia Pancake" I believe it was called. When it did arrive, it was certainly a show stopper. Two extra large pancakes, practically falling off the edges of the plate. It looked tasty. What caught my attention about this on the menu was the fact that is had bacon and green chile IN the pancake! Yum right? Meh, it wasn't as exciting as it sounded. This may be due to the fact that all the green chile and bacon were in parts of the pancake, not all through out the batter like I had imagined. It was more like they placed a bit of the green chile and bacon on the griddle and poured the batter on top of it. So happiness was only in a part of each pancake. There wasn't much of it either. A let down for me. Our waitress made her reappearance to bring us or food but once again vanished. She forgot my side of red chile too. But I did manage to flad down another server who happily got it for me. I'm only giving a 3 star for the poor service and mediocre at best pancakes. read more

A 4 egg omelet with a mega amounts of meat - sausage, bacon, ham, Avavado, onions, & Mushrooms. With them serving both breakfast & lunch, we can easily change up our orders.. but rarely do. When they are packed busy, we try to find another place to eat. Wait times can go up to an hour or more. We like that the manager comes by each table to check on service. And If you want to take your drink with you, they offer a 32 oz plastic cup to go, along with a meal if need be! The staff is keenly aware of business lunch *hour* during the week and do their best to get us in & out under that hour. They are always aware of the time, even when we aren't. read more
