I wouldn't normally write a review of a fast food restaurant but this one deserved it. I noticed the last one star review was also given on a Sunday. The staff working on 10/16/11 during dinnertime was simply terrible. I've never seen such poor customer service and training ever in my 25 years of eating fast food. There is only one cashier, which is usually fine, if you have competent employees as this Wendy's isn't nearly as popular as other fast food chains like Subway or Mcdonalds. My experience today was deplorable. It took me probably around 25 minutes from the time I walked in to have my food in hand to go. If I had wanted to wait more than 10 minutes, I wouldn't have gone to a fast food joint. And it wasn't because it was busy either, when I had arrived, there was only one couple in front of me. However, it took about 4-5 minutes for their order to be taken (due to some complications with a discount), then another 2-3 minutes for my order to be taken. The two alternating cashiers seemed confused and were clearly in training as they had to call over their supervisor (who was manning the drive through) often. What made it extra long was that after taking my order, they mistakenly tossed my receipt from the order queues. And its not like it was a particularly busy night. As I said before, there was only one person ahead of me, and by the time I had left, only 2 other patrons had gone in to order. They also not only completely forgot my order, they also screwed up the order before AND after me. Forgot frosty on first order, gave wrong salad to next one. So that was three incorrect orders in a row, all served at a snails pace, all incorrectly. After finally alerting them to their mistakes, I repeated my order to them. I had hoped for at least some free upgrades or an apology but none was given. In fact, to top of the shitty service, when they asked one last time what my drink was, I replied Sprite. 5 seconds later I was handed a coke. I wanted to say something but figured I'd had enough and just left with my coke without a straw and no ketchup (even though I had asked for each. All in all, I don't plan on coming back to this location for a verrrry long time. Until they get their employees trained or fired, don't bother. read more

Midnight Junk Food Run that takes credit cards! Plain and simple few things are open in the area, when your hearts in for a Hot n' Juicy... well, I mean hamburger and the such! ^_^ The last couple of times, that I have come they have run out of certain kinds of food, like a particular salad or something, so they ask me to pick something else. After my late night workout, sometimes, I get the "jones" for some Junk food, if I am going this way, then, I will roll up to the window.. They HAVE gotten my order right all the time, and double check it for me... I wonder why.... Everytime i go there they mess up on my order. I usually always go through the drive-thru late at night ordering the small chili, jr bacon cheeseburger, 5pc nuggets, and whatever else is on the dollar menu. However, almost everytime i go there they mess up my order. This location always seem to forget to give you the sauce for the nuggets. You have to tell them twice. Also, sometimes instead of getting 5 pieces i end up with 3 or 4 nuggets. Can they not count or just being cheap? One time my gf ordered the root beer float and i swear they only filled it up half way. On a few occassions when i asked for cheese and onions in my chili they will charge me, but never put it in. I absolutely love wendys, but it's the incompetent employees or shady business practices that turns me away from this wendys. read more

I like their food. Maybe its just the drive thru that sucks The last two times havent been anything to praise. One, they didn't put the lid on right on one of my drinks. They just placed the lid on top and when i made a turn all my soda spilled all over my car. Nice. Second time, we specifically asked for spicy chicken nuggets. When my bf asked if the nuggets were spicy the girl said "sure" in a voice that sounded annoyed. Excuse me its not our fault that you have a shitty minimum wage job. And guess what.... We did not get spicy nuggets. But at least my dogs liked them! So I'd recommend going inside to order your food and double check that they put the lids on correctly. read more

There is a very rude employee named Bryan. He wears glasses. He was working in the drive thru window. I showed him a coupon but he did not scan it properly. He charged me extra money when I had a coupon. Bryan also did not carefully put the change in my hands. He dropped some quarters and did not apologize. Instead, he yelled at me and told to pick it up. He did not look at my hand and dropped money on the ground. He said bad words like "F*ck you stupid and get out". What kind of customer service is this?! I have never seen any employees rude as him in my life. UGH Wendy's need to teach their employees to be nice and show good customer service. Came here for a pear berry tea I told the lady to please make it less sweet to cut the syrup in half. This is how I usually get it at a different location. When i got my drink it was super sweet and NO ICE. I had to park my car and went in I spoke to an Asian guy and told him i wanted it less sweet he called the manager. The stupid ass manager said its half sweet already. He said is it okay if i pour some out and just add green tea. What an idiot the green tea is sweet so it would of made no differences. To avoid trouble I told him yes, and then he said there is no ice did you want some. I told him you guys never added ice, and yes i would like ice. I should of told him no just in case he spit in my drink. This Wendy location has gone down hill. Poor customer service. read more

This Wendy's has been standing strong... I remember coming here when I was 5... yes, I actually do remember! They have to be doing something right to be going on that strong! The food is the same at all the other Wendy's... and I LOVE Wendy's... It's my personal favorite fast food burger chain. The burgers are still the best out of all the chains... though Carl's Jr. is a pretty close second for me. The fro sties are great too. The service at this one is pretty good, we were taken care of, but one of the staff members lacked the enthusiasm, but I'm not going to knock on that. Overall experience is great here. On a late night, we had to wait a while while going through a drive-thru but that would be my only complaint... could be a large order in front of us. read more

Now I've never actually stepped foot into the place, so my review strictly pertains to the drive-thru. And it's just like any other drive-thru. The wait's always been consistent and reasonable. Customer service has been fine up-to-date. I usually come here for their Asiago Spicy Chicken Sandwich which always taste great and hasn't failed me yet. As others have noted, this place is a bit slow on cooking your food. I'm not sure if this is a trend of Wendy's (since both Wendy's in the 626 are slow) but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they are actually cooking my food. Now, on to why I give this place the ol' 4 stars... the food is always pretty good here. Whenever I want a fried thing of chicken (whether it be sandwiches or nuggets), I will drive my butt here. I can bring it back home (about 10 -15 minutes away) and the food will always be hot. It actually stays hotter than the food I get from McD's or Jack in the Box, which are both much closer to my house. Friends and family enjoy the burgers here too... citing that the burgers are salty, flavorful, fatty goodness. My dad swears it is one of the better burgers he has had at a major chain. Wendy's corporate needs to get wise and offer him a job with a raise and a promotion with benefits. My friends and I came to this Wendy's to satisfy our sweet tooth with a frostie. When we arrived, we saw options for the original frostie, a frostie shake, a frostie float AND frosties with M&Ms, Oreo, coffee or cookie dough. Yum, right?! Wrong... we ordered the frosties with Oreo and cookie dough, but they were quite disappointing... We waited for a while to reach the drive thru window because the car ahead of us were waiting to complete their order. Unfortunately, it seems that our frosties were already made and melted as we waited... Ick. Not so much a frostie, more watery than anything... *** Side note: if you're ordering a sandwich from the menu, don't forget order a tomato with it (if you want it). Today I ordered (by drive-thru) a #2 Dave's burger combo but (for the burger part) got a bare wheat bread with a piece of bare chicken steak; It was a really bad experience that I had to go back. The only lesson I would share is double check your order before you leave the drive-thru. But at the end of the day, they (both managers kid/young Blidmir and the older Nathan and all the employee there) didn't fix my burger and the manager Nathan called the police and wouldn't let me go there ever (told by the alhambra police if I go again it'd be trespassing). Even the police recommended me to go to a different place. The manager (Nathan) could not fix the problem with me directly nor had the patience to listen to the details. Although I got my refund thru the police, I felt very uncomfortable/discriminated (by the act of the bare burger mistake and the service/manager attitude). I normally love wendys because they have fresh fresh veggies in the burgers/sandwiches but today. Lets start with the ordering process. They basically yell at you, and then kinda rush you. I ordered a sour cream chive potato but i didnt want the chives because i dont care for them dry, so the guy was yelling at me "plain potato" and i said i just want sourcream. He said ok plain! I also ordered the s'awesome bacon cheeseburger. So i pay and get all my food, drive home which is less than 5mins away and open my s'awesome burger and its cold, and no bacon. Also open up my potato and no sourcream or butter. Wth! Also my fries were so cold! Paid way too much for some nasty food that wasnt done correct and for some crap service. Wendy's is great. Best value menu out of all the fast food joints. It even won #1 on the Zagat Fast Food Survey. You can often find Wendy's coupons in the mail, look out for them. Anyway, this review will be on this location. Drive-thru service is quick, just make sure you check your bag before you drive off. They like to forget sauces. In fact, they won't ask if you want sauce, you have to tell them when you order. Drive-thru is open until one. It is also one of the few non-Asian-cafe places that is open that late in the area. Inside, service is quick as well. Eating area is often cleaned. Unlimited ketchup and salt and pepper. Mixing ketchup with pepper is great. Food is well prepared, never had a problem with it. Sometimes I'm craving a baked potato in the late evening, but a few times they said they didn't have anymore. I guess everyone in Alhambra likes their baked potatoes. Wait, is there any other place in Alhambra to get a baked potato? For a dollar? Okay, I understand now. If i'm in the area and I want cheap food, I'd definitely consider this place. It has some competition from the adjacent Lee's Sandwiches and chili-cheese fries from The Hat, which is a few blocks down Valley. But Wendy's has variety and a sit-in area. Service was fast and accurate. The parking lot/drive thru in this location looks like it was designed by a child. The area that is walled off for Wendys parking is strangely elevated onto this strange asphalt mesa that has one entrance and one exit. This area of town is filled with bad drivers so it makes it all the more difficult when there are 2 cars and a truck trying to hesitantly get into this walled off parking area at the same time. If there is a large truck or any long vehicle parked next to the entrance (like there was when I arrived) it will make the "gateway" that much trickier to access. Finally, for some reason the path you drive to use the drive thru takes you on this meandering "S" curve through the dedicated parking, then around the entirety of the Wendys building itself and then back out through the parking area. This also forces all of those dining inside to walk through the line of cars waiting in the drive through. Anyway, this whole long winded rant is just to say that it was very poorly thought out. If I had known about, and been prepared for, the layout of this Wendys and its parking lot, I would not have had such a difficult time. Also, if I was not on my lunch break trying to rush over and get food, the delays would not have bothered me so much. Over-all, despite my frustration and wasted time, I had a good experience and I will go back the next time that I am craving Wendys. read more

I was in line for a while and just ordered a milkshake, I went up to the window to pay and they told me I didn't have to pay for my shake since I waited for so long. Nothing wrong with service here, it's just the cleanliness. I found multiple times some Gnat flys going around the room from seats closer to the window in the back. Along with bigger flys in bathroom and seating area. Also some Gnats fly at the ketchup condiments. Overall kinda gross especially when eating.
