This place is a good place to go if you really want food that tastes like your grandmother made it. Both the good and the bad. They have some very good flavors, but it is also made with a very very heavy "Paula Deen" hand. (Butter and Grease). The fare is traditional southern, and nothing else. They know what they do and they do it well. But it's not very creative or out of the box by any means. The service was pretty lackluster as was the atmosphere. Oh my gosh what a bad night here tonight.our waitress was so slow. Placed our order and 45 minutes later our food came. Meanwhile no drink refills because she NEVER checked on us!! We always enjoyed eating here in the past but am shocked at how dirty it is. The patio is filthy and littered with bits. It doesn't seem to have been cleaned with a pressure washer in years--if ever. The menus are disgusting. I couldn't touch mine. It's in a dirty plastic sleeve with stains and bits of food on the plastic. Totally nasty!!! How hard is it to print fresh paper menus to hand out? The metal tables and chairs are dirty. My appetizer plate had dried on food and when I took it inside, the door handle was absolutely filthy!!! One of my favorite restaurants hands down. The food is always great. Southern comfort food mostly with a slight twist. The crew is great 90% of the time. Service is prompt 95% of the time. Food is delicious 100% of the time. I prefer to visit right when they open because the restaurant is an open area and it gets sometimes obnoxiously loud. Plan accordingly and go early...or slightly before 4 pm. Miss the crowds for the best experience. Unless you like crowds then join the party. read more

My wife and I went here because we wanted to try a place we had never been. We got there about 8PM and had no wait on a table, but we decided to sit at the bar. The wait staff was great - willing to help us with our order when we had questions. We both had big salads - both of us brought some home the portions were so big. My fiancé and I discovered this place about two months ago and have been here 7 times since then! There's usually a wait on week nights but it's worth it. First time customers. Stopped by for lunch on Saturday a quarter after 1. We started off with an appetizer of fried green tomatoes recommended by our server Coral. They were delicious! Our main meal was the Pecan Pork-chops also recommended. Wow! What a flavorful combination. Between the blueberry chutney and the pecans I was shocked! This place was excellent! My husband and I went on a Friday evening around 8:30. Since it was later there wasn't a wait and we were seated right away. We each ordered a burger. I had the smoked gouda burger with sweet potato fries and a side of mac and cheese and my hubby had the WCB #2 with regular fries. We both loved it! They were both gigantic and delicious! This is my second time here and I am glad I decided to come here for lunch today. I had the honey balsamic chicken salad. I did have it on romaine instead of mixed greens and no cheese sub avocado. When my plate came it was bigger than I expected guess I forgot I was at a diner. The salad was amazing except for the chicken itself. I do believe the poaching liquid should have been properly seasoned. My server was amazing and she offered grilled chicken instead. That took my salad to the next level. That made it perfect.. Came back with another friend for lunch last week. It's still good. This time I ordered the smoked turkey and Brie on toasted ciabatta with argula and raspberry mayo. I chose sweet potatoes fries as my side and it was all so very good. my friend ordered the West Cobb Salad and she liked it a lot. Both meals were priced at $7 each which I think is very reasonable. One of my favorite places to venture to eat in West Cobb. Love the variety of food they have with different flavors. The Gouda bacon burger with a side of squash casserole is my go to order. Food is good and fresh. Sometimes they are a bit heavy on the salt. Otherwise, it is very good and the prices are not outrageous. One suggestion would be to offer a plain coleslaw as an option. This once awesome diner is slipping on food quality big time. Ordered turkey & dressing and my husband and I simultaneously spit out the first bite. The salty taste was horrible to put it mildly. Squash casserole maybe had two actual slices of veggie (mostly sour cream, cheese, breadcrumbs and grease). We switched the turkey and dressing for meatloaf and not much better. Actually made friends from other tables as they got tickled because as plates were taken to other tables we would ask the waitress/waiter what was that. Made me want to order EVERYTHING on the menu. WCD isn't all full of themselves like the expensive farm-to-table or wings-and-overpriced-beer places we drive by on the way there from East Cobb.
