This particular Western Bagel only takes cash or check! There is an ATM machine inside the store just in case, but I'm just surprised every time I come here that they still don't take credit cards. The dozen bagel was $16.25. I didn't want that many but the worker told me it would be cheaper to get a dozen. This place doesn't have any place to sit. Walked into this business and the first thing i saw was dirty floors, then i walked up to the glass where they keep all the food and if you pay attention the base, mirror rails, and glass itself is very dirty from the inside. I get my Lox from here all the time! They make their bagels fresh all day there. I get the lox on the "Everything Bagel" (Cheddar Cheese, Garlic, Poppy Seed & Jalapeño). They are generous with Salmon, and I like more cream cheese so I ask for extra. I'm a little oinker like that. There's plenty of parking on the lot. Only take out. Not a fancy joint, but worth picking up! I haven't found a better bagel joint in the Valley than this place. Will always be my Go-To! read more

I've been getting bagels at this location since I was a kid and I still love that when I get them here they're fresh, warm and delicious. HOWEVER, I paid this time to have them "professionally" slice our bagels and the did a super crappy job! The slice is only partially through the bagels and every bagel is unevenly sliced too. Unfortunately for me I didn't inspect them closely, so the 2nd dozen that I threw in the freezer had to first be defrosted and then re-sliced in order to toast them...grrrrrr. Also, because they make sandwiches there too now (don't live in the valley anymore and I haven't been here in awhile) with only 3 people in front of us we stood in line for over 20 minutes just to get 2 dozen bagels. I went to buy dozen of bagels for their Sepulveda location around 7pm couple of days ago, they have a credit card machine but the young Spanish guy told me it's cash only , there were no sign saying cash only, so I had to use the shady atm machine at their location, the machine charged me $3 and my bank charged me another $3.50 so for dozen bagels I paid extra $6.50 fees from their shady atm machine, so either this employee wants cash to pocket the money or Owner Steve Ustin is so cheap does not want to take credit card so he sales 1% processing fees but it's ok for his customer to pay $6.50 fees from shady atm he has in there . I ordered a bagel with veggies only, and there wasn't a veggie bagel on the menu only lox bagel with veggies so I told him a bagel with veggies only and no lox. Western Bagel definitely has solid bagels that will certainly suffice. While I prefer others over Western, I can still appreciate the hearty and mostly tasty craftsmanship here. The plain bagel, and the jalapeño are probably my favorites. Egg is OK, but not enough flavor IMO. The pumpernickel doesn't work for me. The melted cheese bagel is scandalous, and will definitely fill you up. Overall, since they're fresh, there pretty hard not to like. Get 'em to-go, in sandwiches or with a 'schmear'. Also available (like at other retail WB's) are various cream cheeses, juices, even some packaged lox. Not far from the 405. If you're anywhere in the area, you might as well swing by a pick some up.
