Great food and amazing view. We came at the perfect time to sit outside for the beautiful sunset and it wasn't hot anymore. The service was absolutely 5 stars since our waitress had great vibes and recommendations. Atmosphere, service and food are all 5 stars!

We wanted to visit a new place for the first time that we haven't tried to celebrate a special occasion and wasn't sure what to expect given the mixed reviews we'd seen on Yelp, but figured we'd give it a try. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful sunny day and the scenery of South Lake Union and the space needle. Our waiter and hostess were incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout the entire visit, made us feel welcomed. The ambiance was lovely and the music was nice. And most importantly, the food was actually pretty good, full of great flavors yet surprisingly light, and nothing over powering. When the chicken came out a bit late, the staff apologized and comped a dessert and coffee for us which was really nice of them, it's such a thoughtful touch. They also brought out a candle and a personalized sign for our occasion, which made the moment feel personable and memorable. Overall, the ambiance, service, and food all came together beautifully. It was a memorable first visit and we'll absolutely be back for sure, forgot how nice PNW was on a beautiful sunny day. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience in a stunning setting overlooking South Lake Union, and if you're a pet lover like us, this place was pet friendly as we saw other guests bring their dogs for the outdoor seating. Fyi as a heads up, it's a bit pricey with an automatic 22% service charge applied (excludes gratuity). Thanks for the nice experience, you guys did a great job!

Our experience here was awful, start to finish. We docked our boat and were able to find spots, so we headed in. The host did not want to seat us and tried to put us on a waitlist, even though the restaurant was practically empty. I counted maybe 5 parties max. When we told her we couldn't wait, she seated us without issue, which made the whole thing even more confusing. The service was terrible. It took forever to get drinks, and they were just okay. Most of the staff was hanging out at the bar for some reason, and one of them had an attitude when I simply asked where the bathroom was. Just truly so bad and hurtful. I usually give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but this was not acceptable. We got the radish salad, and my husband got the oysters. He said they were amazing, and honestly that was the only highlight of our time there. Then the bill came and was completely wrong. Not one or two small errors, majorly wrong. We left feeling disrespected and disappointed, and we won't be making that mistake again. I truly hope things improve, because they have a lovely space.

We made a reservation on OpenTable, there is minimalistic seating inside, bartop and in their covered patio (with waterside views). We placed our order relatively quickly & the interior vibes/bathroom were nice. Fair warning: There is a 22% gratuity tip added on to bills automatically. The menu was limited with small and large plates, it seems their main food is the raw bar, food is family style & comes out as it is cooked. A bit slower kitchen service wise. - Baked Oysters (spicy!) - decent flavor - meat was not too dry - Potatoes (we liked this the most) - Seared Halibut (salty, but the dill sauce was good) - Manila Clams I think the main entrees were decent but nothing to write home about, our fave was the potatoes. Stars for the great service but the flavor of the food was not really up our alley, a bit too heavy handed on salt and flavors-- option if they had salt in side for the potatoes. The seared halibut was good but the sauce was overpowering the natural taste of the fish.

Westward is a beautiful upscale spot right on the water -- perfect for soaking in those Seattle views. Both times I've been here I've sat at the bar and found the bartender super friendly and helpful. The oysters are incredibly fresh, the wine list is thoughtful and local, and every dish feels elevated without being pretentious. It's the kind of place where you can linger over a long meal and just enjoy the view- right over the lake! It's my go to first stop in the neighborhood and always excited to see their salad option, my favorite so far as been a decadent burrata. A must-visit for anyone who loves great seafood, good wine, and that classic Pacific Northwest vibe.

Guys, definitely a deck to find during beautiful Seattle weather! Steady stream of respectful SUP'ers dropping in right between Westward and Gasworks Brewing - lots of action to watch on the water. Lots of drop-in business but it looks like they take reservations as well. Waitstaff is AWESOME - everyone checking in you even if not your assigned server. The crab roll is a definite bell-ringer - very fresh and flavorful. I had the braised pork birria, which is a fun and light homage to chilaquiles. Also got recommendation on a selection from an extremely thorough oyster list and she brought me some bay water indigos which ate very clean and bright - I would highly recommend. View from three rows in on the deck under a bright umbrella of...umbrellas! Note: this is a Service Fee restaurant, and when I asked I heard that approximately 50% ends up with the staff. But sounds like they also get some pay-out during winter months when most a laid off until the weather turns. I chose to give a bit more (which goes 100% to staff) as a thanks for the attentiveness today. Also head's up - only like 5 parking spots on property - but a ton of back-in angle parking on the frontage road, Northlake Way.

Been coming here for years now given how close it is to our office. Great for drinks and perhaps a large volume of small dishes (even their "large" plates are tiny). High quality, but if you're hungry, you'll probably need to do a few rounds. Views and vibe are top notch, and service is excellent.

    Salmon. Too salty

Beautiful view but food over priced for what you get. The service wasn't great and they add the 22% tip on your bill. The salmon over toast was too salty. We got the dozen oysters and the menu did not list the price. Once the bill came, the oysters alone was $120. I am not cheap by any means but that was over the top. We will not be going back anytime soon.

Sub-par experience accompanied with a great ambience and view. The food was okay, with the dill dip being a favorite of ours. The problem I have is with the pricing of the items. I generally do not have an issue as Seattle is an expensive city to dine however, the quality of food does not justify the price points of each respective item. Additionally, there is a 22% service charge added which does not include the tip amount. Overall, the food was average and pricing is quite absurd, but the view is certainly beautiful!

I love this restaurant, beautiful exterior and interior. Sunny weathers in Seattle always takes me back to this restaurant to have dinner by the water. They source the freshest seafood in town and I love all the rotating dishes they have on their menu. My favorite so far has been the seared halibut (cooked to perfection and the top is crispy - yum!). Service is phenomenal like always. Our server checks in from time to time to make sure we have wine in our glasses and I'm glad she knows her oysters! I told her I prefer the sweeter side of things, and she recommended a few that I absolutely loved.

Lovely view rain or shine. Parking could be a challenge during peak time and non happy hour menus can be quite pricy BUT the happy hour deals are great here and the service is top notch. I am not an oyster eater but my friends confirmed the oysters were good~ i liked their NA cocktail options as well because they actually resemble the taste and complexity of an actual cocktail. The potatoes, salads, dips and clams are all super delicious! I love the oyster candle stand that they have so much haha what a cute touch!

An amazing date night! So for those of you who do not know, Westward is one of the amazing restaurants in the family created by award winning chef Renee Erickson. (Personally i've made it my goal to visit them all, because they never disappoint) Here you'll find waterfront dining located on Lake Union with cozy beachside Adirondack chairs, a giant outdoor fire pit, and cheery picnic table styled dining. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Obviously the menu is seafood themed with the star of the show (IMO) being the fresh, locally sourced oysters! Unless you have a choice of oysters I recommend the shuckers choice to try a variety. Also TIP *THE THAI CHILI SAUCE ON THE OYSTERS IS A GAME CHANGER* We tried a bit of everything (dont judge): hehe CHICKPEA FRITTERS: DELICIOUS moist creamy interior with a crispy outside. 10/10 DILL DIP: Very tart. I personally wasn't a fan, but the server graciously traded it out for the SPICY CLAM DIP which was 10/10 SEARED HALIBUT: ABSOLUTELY Devine 10/10 BEN'S BREAD: *SALTY* but delicious 8/10 And finally. The show stopper the BASQUE CHEESECAKE.....there are no words. Absolute heaven. Also highly recommend the "Les Fleurs" - an amazing cocktail with passion tea vodka. Ambiance 10/10 Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Drinks 10/10 Looking forward to visiting in the future for brunch!!!

When is the happy hour? What are the happy hour deals/prices please?

No deals at this place!!!! Tremendously over-priced and terrible menu. Don't consider it.

Are there options that are dairy free other than raw oysters?

    Is the outdoor patio dog-friendly?

Joy, I had my dog along and they were really nice about letting me have him sit with me on the patio with him. Of course, I went when they first opened to avoid it being too crowded. We pretty much had the patio all to ourselves for the most part.… Read more

    Is there parking at Westward?

Minimal parking in the Westward lot, but you can park along the road running in front of the restaurant. Note that there are people living along there in RVs, etc.

    Do they take walk-ins?

Yes. But if it's nice weather it might be a long wait. I went at 6pm on a Saturday with one friend...and we were seated immediately. Bigger parties might be more difficult to seat without a reservation.

What are their Happy Hour hours?

Drink specials, $2 oysters, small bites specials

Is the outdoor seating by reservation only?

We tried the smoked salmon dip with chips, the fried chicken sandwich and the the black cod kasusuke. The crab rolls were sold out by the time we got there or we definitely would have tried those. The salmon dip was good, lots of dill, and the chips were crispy. The fried fish sandwich was light, which was nice for something fried, and the roll it was on was soft and warm. The black cod kasusuke was my favorite dish of the meal. The black cod was tender and fell apart, and it was seasoned so nice. It came with a spinach salad and rice which was also delicious. If I could give half stars, this would be pushing a 4.5. Nothing blew me away, but everything was fresh and enjoyable!

The staff, on a busy summer evening, seemed personally offended that we were there. The host sat us at a wet table, when I asked if they could dry it, the drying process came with an attitude. I specifically noticed that the host was busy, and wanting to be overly gracious, I thanked them for returning to dry the table three times, and was ignored - no "You're welcome" or "No worries" or anything, just dry the table with an attitude and rush off. Drinks, also delivered by the host, were dropped off with an attitude at the end of the table - "Here you go," as they sat them down - not asking which one of you had this or that - just "Here you go" and then away. The server, at first also seemed a little rude, no pleasantries - just "What can I get you." No "Hello, welcome in" The server got better with time. We appreciated the character arc. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. starting off, i was pleasantly surprised by the portion of sourdough bread given prior to the meal…read more- as I wasn't expecting that the bread wasn't anything special - but i did like the outside; found it to be pretty crispy. also, i liked the fact that they gave you butter as a dip, although it wasn't easy to spread it on the sourdough as it was just one big block i thought the main part of this dish, the salmon sliders, were quite good, however this came in three separate 'sliders', each with a base of rosemary bread, a sliced tomato, and a portion of salmon, topped with pesto the actual salmon itself was ok - personally i thought it was a bit stringy and chewy, but otherwise not bad. being brushed with oil certainly helped with the taste however, the other aspects of the slider were fantastic normally, i don't like tomatoes, but it fit really well with this dish. the flavor was there but not overpowering i also quite liked the pesto as a condiment - there was a solid amount on there - and it added a nutty texture that was good the best part of these sliders, however, was the rosemary bread. this was exquisitely good - it was crispy, herby, buttery, and served as an incredible base for the sandwich as a whole. i absolutely loved every bite of this the other thing that was a great touch was placing the sliders on the bottom of the bread rather than the 'more fluffy' side. this ensured that the bread wouldn't get soggy from the tomato/salmon and had it retain its crunchiness to the maximum three sliders was also a pretty good portion size another thing i enjoyed was the salad. a lot of places think that lots of dressing, often oil, is necessary to make a good salad, but this place managed to deliver something that tasted really good and had nice flavor with the use of little to no dressing. i'm impressed at the end of my meal, i got a carrot cake from the dessert menu this was decently sized, and the cream cheese frosting on this had a wonderful flavor i didn't taste the carrot as much in the inside of the cake, but i could tell it was still baked well, and the frosting added a great touch i would say its more of a cupcake than a cake, however i came during happy hour, so for the price of about $14, the sourdough bread + the salmon sliders were a pretty good value i can't say the same for the carrot cake - as while it was good - about 9 dollars is a little too expensive for that

Wow, what a wonderful deck outside to enjoy some great seafood on a beautiful day across the street…read morefrom Green Lake i stopped in with my daughter and grandson and we were blown away by the experience. From the minute we arrived using the ADA entrance to the deck we were immediately greated and able to select a nice table with an umbrella in the shade on a nice summet day. And it only got better from that. Our waitress Quinn was so wonderful giving us plenty of time to select our dining options along with some wonderful suggestions. She recommended the risotto bites with lobster and they were, without a doubt, the best arancini I've ever had. I wasn't hungry but they were so great, I finished them off anyway. The stuffed salmon was phenomenal and the roasted potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly with a slight char on them. Everything we had was top notch and if Yelp had half stars, I would have given them 4.5 stars. And Quinn, if she's available, ask for her. She's one of the best waitresses, I've ever had being both personable and informative. Well done Quinn and Duke's. I'll be back before summer is gone.

cute neighborhood spot for breakfast or lunch in the greenlake vicinity…read more the menu has a pretty even mix of mexican and traditional american breakfast fare but i was drawn in by the plantains so ordered katracho minus the chorizo (they grilled some tomatoes for me as a substitute.) they were fairly busy for a sunday morning and one observation i had when the food came to the table was the differing temperatures of items. my eggs were not hot but the plantains were, indicating some things had been sitting around while others had been recently prepared. the beans were in a small cup in the middle and had good flavor but also lukewarm. i didn't expect everything listed in the menu to be cut and arranged around the plate as it was. this dish had a toast or coffee cake side order and opted for sourdough; there was raspberry freezer jam on the take. taste-wise the dish was good and the service was fine. all in all, while it wasn't a standout experience it was totally acceptable on a number of levels and others appeared to be enjoying the location's offerings as well.

Great brunch. Its got a very casual, west coast vibe to it. Simple decor, great service and decent…read morevalue for money. The chorizo tacos were very flavorful, with generous heaping of chorizo scrambled eggs, bell peppers, tomatoes and onions. Had a side of black beans that were quite food. The roasted potatoes were well cooked and tasty. Cappuccino was very good. Will be back!
