First time trying Whataburger on my way back to LA... I was impressed with the service and the cleanliness of the store. I ordered a number 2 (double meat), the fries were delish, thin and crispy, the burger was alright. The bun of the burger was hardy and filling. Now I can say I've tried Whataburger. read more

I previously worked as a fast food General Manager for five years; and normally I don't write reviews for fast food restaurants because I know what it's like fighting for OSAT and good surveys. However, today at your restaurant, I could not stand the poor customer service provided in the drive-thru on Sunday May 19th at 1:20am. Upon pulling up to the speaker, we were "greeted" by a girl who very clearly did not care how she spoke to people. I asked the girl "May I please have two #1's? One plain with cheese?" And she said "Mhm.". This girl had a very dry and annoyed tone in her voice. That, in itself, is an understatement. I proceeded with "Also a #2? With cheese?" And she said "Okay...". There was about a five second pause before she said "Anything else?". I asked her "Do those come with fries and a drink?" She continued with her attitude "No, but I can make it a meal". I believe that is the point in asking for a number, and not just a sandwich title, but I'm treated like the idiot, right? Right... I maintain my composure, and proceed "Can I do that please?" This girl says "Yeah..." and again there's a long pause. She says "The drinks?" Long story short; I tell her the rest, she responds with "Is that it?" I tell her yes, she tells me the total, etc... Pulling up to the window; I'm met with a girl whose name tag read "Danielle". I stay cordial, and proceed as a happy customer. I say nothing to her. I drive away. Now, I will say that I'm very adamant about customer service to my employees, in every capacity I've worked, and would not stand for that type of diction made for rude, short, and tasteless service. If she doesn't like taking orders, then she shouldn't be taking orders. That girl is clearly unhappy doing what she's doing. That is no foundation to set for the restaurant's service worker standards. If a customer feels like you don't care about their experience, then they won't care either, especially when it comes to writing reviews. I hope that girl finds happiness somewhere in her life because she's clearly taking her lack of it out on strangers at her workplace... read more

Simple drive thru order: Large fries. I live two minutes from this location. Got home, pulled fries from bag. Soggy and stone cold. Judging by my 30 second wait at 3pm on a Tuesday, those fries had been sitting in a bin for a while. Size sure looked like a medium as well. $4.35! Came here to dine in, not only their burgers are not good at all ( looks like someone step on it because it's flat), the fries is salty and saggy, everything that we order is not even hot. This is going to be a very biased opinion because Whataburger is my all time favorite fast food chains. I come from California and I love me some In N Out but this right here reigns supreme to me. The different flavors, portions and sauces!!! Whataburger has my heart and my stomach and encourage everyone to try it at least once. Today, have to give them 2 stars because the salad was pretty good veggies were all fresh although the lettuce was hot like it was kept on a shelf or counter! Whatschicken is a damned tasteless fried chicken sandwich while I longed for a grilled chicken sandwich, Their grilled sandwich is good and tasty! To make matters worse they put both mayo (I asked for no mayo) and honey mustard on it, I hate honey mustard! I wanted regular mustard! THIS WB HAS GONE DOWNHILL FAST SINCE CORPORATE TAKEOVER. Bell and 91st Ave in Peoria/Glendale. It's been our go-to casual restaurant since we moved here several years ago. It was warm and friendly - the staff always smiling and helpful. We liked them all. Slip up on an order? (it happens) - they'd fix it right away. In addition to visiting several times a week for lunch or supper, for years The Irish Redhead and I would take our calendars every Saturday morning and plan out the coming week over a Whataburger breakfast. The kitchen would begin making our well-known orders pretty much as soon as they saw us walk in. Then a couple of months ago the Chicago owners removed the Franchisee, and this restaurant (with several other WB's in the locale) came under corporate control. Some changes were immediate. Most of the experienced, long-time staff left or were let go. The kitchen became less proficient. Orders were more often incomplete. Today (Saturday 5/18/24) was the final straw. We were there again for breakfast. My order was the same as usual, The Irish Redhead changed hers up, but asked for the complete meal. Hers was delivered without hash browns. A small thing, but telling. I pointed this out to the server. She said, "You only paid for one." I said, "We ordered two complete meals. We should have received two hash browns." She said, "You only paid for one." I pointed out that this, then, was the fault of the order-taker. She said, "You only paid for one." This went back and forth for a bit. The same repeated one-note response. At a point I said Okay, let me talk to the manager. She flipped her name tag, said: "I AM the manager." God help us. The old crew would have said "Oh, sorry ... we'll go straighten that out for you." Not this one. I wish I'd caught her name, but you'll recognize her easily: black hair, short, overweight, with a "Who-the-he11-do-you-think-YOU-are" attitude. I did get to speak to the guy she reports to: Somebody Meza. He tried to sell the idea that now that they're corporate they have to account for every penny and that a missing bag of four tiny hash browns would be significant. I could take him point relative to an entire order, but this? Really? Wrapping it up: He did give us The Irish Redhead's hash browns. But for a 5-cent-cost bag of four little hash browns, that short-sighted, arrogant manager cost her branch around $5,000.00 a year. (Do the math: 3 to 5 meals per week, average bill $22.00) BTW, there is an OUTSTANDING little Whataburger at the corner of Bell and 43rd Ave. It's a bit longer drive, but that'll be our new go-to. I can't believe that I've be never been here. They do a pretty good burger. They were incredibly cordial and funny when I went through the drive thru. The service here is absolutely top notch. I got the bacon cheeseburger meal. The burger was grilled well. Had a good mustard on it, and came with pretty much a salads worth of lettuce and tomatoes on top of the patties which I did not mind. The fries are almost identical to what I remember McDonald's fries tasting like. They do light ice on the drinks too which was a nice touch. I would totally go back to try one of their specialty burgers. $11 was a bit much for a burger meal but those are the times we're in. read more

I ordered two Whataburgers with cheese, one was a combo (fries and unsweetened Ice Tea). Burgers were cold! ( I live 1.5 miles from restaurant drove directly home and sat down to eat) So I zapped them in Microwave for 25 seconds. Terrible burger! Not once, not twice, Every single time I've ordered thru the drive thru, they mess up my order! Order extra beef patty, forget it, never added. Order no onions, get extra onions. This place is an absolute nitemare! Then when I drove back to get what i paid for, he asked to see the burger, showed him, & told him i wanted one made fresh. He demanded the old one back. The gravy was so thin that I can only describe my plate as two biscuits floating in a trough of milk with some sausage bits. We are from Southern California and stop at Whataburger every time we're in town. We checked the hours online and drove way out of our way to come for breakfast on our way home. We pull in and the drive through is closed and doors locked. (This is a 24 hour location). We called and they said they wouldn't be open for another half hour. (This is 7:30 on Sunday morning) I explained we are huge fans and heading back home, they wouldn't take a phone order. SO DISAPPOINTING. Please fix your online hours to reflect the truth. Went through drive thru this morning and ordered. It was breakfast time. They told us to go right. They came out to pay and deliver soda as part of meal. We waited over 15 minutes to get our good . Haven't had a Whataburger in ages and the first time was in Texas. Didn't even know there was one in the Phoenix area. I heard some people compare this joint to the in n outs in Cali but I don't think so. So I had the double whataburger and it was nothing out of the ordinary. We walked in here to get lunch (the second time this week) and noticed that one of the young men that was preparing food had long hair that was hanging out of his hat. When we were at this location earlier this week, the same young man had his long hair hanging out of his hat. I complained to the person that took our order and she told the manager about it. While we were still there the young man was sent to the bathroom and put his hair in a ponytail. So 3 days later we come back and his hair is hanging out again. I DO NOT WANT TO EAT FOOD THAT IS PREPARED BY SOMEONE WHO CAN LEAVE SOME OF THEIR HAIR IN MY FOOD. It is interesting to me that all of the young ladies have their hair beautifully pulled back and very tidy. Apparently the manager doesn't think it is important enough to stay on top of this issue. Approx 3-4 months ago we had just left my girlfriends doctors appointment. I had her 65 year old mother with us. Her mother and I are legally disabled full time. My girlfriend is a type one diabetic and hadn't had anything to eat prior to her appointment and was having a diabetic crash. So we decided to call this particular Whataburger to make sure that the dinning room was open. We had spoken to the manager on duty named Michelle. She said that the dinning room would be open starting at 11am. We arrived at 11am parked in front of the main entrance. We sat there waiting approximately 30 minutes as there was a sign located on the window stating that the dinning room opens at 11am. A crowd formed and three me that worked at the car lot located down the street stated that they couldn't wait any longer because whataburger just waisted their entire lunch time and so they left. My girlfriend's mother is now needing to use the restroom and my girlfriend is having a diabetic crash. I decided to call this whataburger to find out if and when they where actually going to open. Michelle answered as I asked her my question. She opened the front door and asked where I was parked ? Then she stated that she's the G. D fking manager and she'll open when she wants to. I told my girlfriend and her mother that we where leaving. Michelle told me that I was never to return. I stated to her that I was contacting corporate. She laughed at us and said to go ahead it will only backfire on me. Well I did make the complaint and later that evening I received a phone call from San Antonio. It was a Hispanic man identifying himself as corporate. He was rude overt talking and said that Michelle stated that I had used profanity and threatened her. It was an outright lie. He didn't want to hear me and was as rude as Michelle was. The following day I received a FedEx letter addressed to me from a law office that represents whataburger. It stated that I am lifetime band from all Whataburger's. That I CANNOT contact whataburger or be sued. I am sure proof. I have serious medical conditions and I have zero assets. This was extremely unprofessional and extremely callus of they way they treated the three of us as well as the other customers. Oh and I nearly forgot. I told Michelle that several customers left because she refused to open the whataburger. Michelle called me a liar and said that no customers left. My girlfriend's mother got very upset and told Michelle that I was not lying. Real nice whataburger on how you treat your money makers. I will not ever go to a whataburger again. Not because I have been warned not to but because I refuse to be treated in this nasty manner. Goodbye and good riddance to Michelle and whataburger as a whole. Honestly first Whataburger I've been to that had top tier customer service! Dominica took our order and she was super nice and provided amazing customer service! She was so polite and just a joy to be around. Our food was so fresh and delicious! Definitely hit the spot. The place was super clean and the atmosphere felt so positive! Another really nice woman brought our order I wish I would have got her name she was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. I am a huge fan of Whataburger, I'm from a Texas, and it is a Texas staple. I drove about 15 minutes (there is not a Whataburger near me). When I walked in, there was a young girl with a drive-thru headset with her nose into her phone. We stood at the register a few minutes, she never looked up or acknowledged us, instead she stood there with her nose in her phone. A young man who was putting or taking stuff out of a freezer yelled "two at the register". Still people walked out of the back from side to side, a total of about 6 employees without anyone acknowledging us. It was an awkward few minutes that seemed like an eternity. Finally a friendly girl, Aaliyah came to take out order. They brought us out food and the fries were so cold and one order was dropped next to us. They didn't even bother to pick them up. I have been coming to this wahterburger for 10 years and it has recently turned into a place of rude , entitled workers that that thing they can laugh at people because they are on the other side of the microphone. Great place to get a burger! Came up here after passing by it a few weeks ago. My family loves Whataburger so we knew we'd hit this location eventually. We pulled up around 8PM and the inside was empty except for two tables. We placed our order, it was quite a few items as we were getting food for five people, to-go. My brother and I both ordered malts, he asked for chocolate and they gave him vanilla, but he had no complaints about the taste. We sat down with our drinks and waited for our food, and we must've been sitting there for maybe 3 minutes tops when a nice girl at the counter called our number. I was sort of surprised by how fast the service was. They offered us many sauces and ketchups and stuff, and we got everything we ordered. Oh, and the food was DEE-LISH, of course!
