For me, the food here is very typical chain restaurant fare. Nothing special at all but the service was friendly and quick. Fried catfish was okay but fries were greasy. I ordered the shrimp and scallop pasta, seasoned with salty cajun seasoning and very average. Nothing to come back for. read more

We always visit the landing when in Branson, and when we visit the landing, we always eat at the White River Fish House. The cocktails are always nice, the appetizers lovely, and the fish cooked perfectly. I almost always have the trout, as it is not common to where I live, and it is always terrific, but I will be tempted the next time to get the shrimp & scallops with pasta, as the one bite I was given to try was fantastic. Came here about an hour before closing with my work mates. Took a while to be seated, even though it was practically empty. There was only one waitress, but she still took good care of us. I had a 14 Hands cab, with the trout almondine. It was very good, the pat of almond butter on top was interesting and added flavor. Most everyone else ordered steak (in a fish house?) and seemed happy. This restaurant is owned by Bass Pro, so the decor is mountain rustic, but upscale. It is right on the water, so bummed we went at night and I couldn't see the view. Ducks hang out under the bridge leading to the restaurant, and you can feed the. The parking lot was empty and at first we thought the place was closed so were about to leave, then one of us decided to check and found out they were open so we gave it a shot. Glad we did. Inside even though there were no cars parked nearby the restaurant was about 1/3 full. Must have been pedestrians like ourselves. The restaurant was nice, and the service was great. The views are river on 3 sides. The location is about a half a block off the end of Branson Landing so it's super convenient after shopping. I had the Venison stuffed mushrooms for an app and they were cooked well. If you haven't had venison before they are a safe introduction because the flavor is not all that strong. For me they were enjoyable. I had the blackened catfish etouffee for a main course and that was good too. The fish was good, and cooked well and the rice and sauce were cooked perfectly and flavored well. The prices were fine for the area and my meal cost me about $26 not including drinks. Others at my table were also happy with the fried fish and the sirloin so it seems that the cooks know what they're doing. If you're in town give them a try, I know I'll be going back. read more

Family ate here July 29th- I ordered grilled trout - it was cold when served (should have been warm) I ended up having only a couple bites because it was not good or worth eating. Have had stomach cramps and other digestive issues since the next morning - at first very severe so some kind of food poisoning. One of our other family members who had just a small taste of my fish also had cramps. The rest of the food was not that great - not fresh, sat too long in the kitchen, reconstituted frozen stuff or something. Oh my goodness!! I had a blast at this place!! If they hadn't overbooked the cornbread by about 2 minutes, I'd have moved in to this place! Our party of six tried the breaded catfish, the blackened catfish with etoufee (a spicy brown gravy), the crawfish ( fancy popcorn shrimp, anyone?) , the clam chowder, and the shrimp and sea scallops with angel hair pasta. These dishes were all excellent but the table pronounced my dish the winner with its delicious, light sauce and tender, perfectly cooked scallops, shrimp, and pasta. The blackberry cobbler came in a tiny iron skillet of its own, just as the cornbread had, and was fantastic with its dollop of ice cream in the center. It was a pie, with a wonderful crust--- not a cobbler... But we were disappointed only for about 90 seconds. Eat here. You don't need to go anywhere else. Did I mention the Fish house is in the parking lot next to Bass Pro Shops White River, and Floats?!? It's built on a barge. You'll be seated beneath a canoe. It's got a fireplace inside. This was the best dining experience we had on our Branson trip! It's actually ON the water, so we got to feed the ducks (and ducklings!) while we waited for a table (only a 15 minute wait, but our 2 year old LOVED feeding those ducks!). We got the gator tail appetizer, which was awesome. For entrees we shared the walleye fingers and the catfish/crawfish combo. Both were AMAZING. Fish was tender and cooked perfectly with a nice flavorful crunch on the outside. Everything was just soooo good. And our server was nice and gave excellent recommendations. Also, the decor was exactly what you'd expect for something associated with Bass Pro...a fish tank up front and various outdoorsy decorations throughout. We're definitely coming back here! read more

My daughter loved the mashed potatoes. Nice patio seating. We only had appetizers and drinks but loved it all (alligator bites and yummy dipping sauce). We went on a slow Friday night. The cornbread was wonderful. The spinach dip was good, but a little odd as it had mushrooms in it. I didn't really care for that but it was good. I had the shrimp penne with lobster sauce. It was very good, but nothing too special. My friend had a filet or strip she really liked it too. Our server wasn't so great. She kept our drinks full and everything but couldn't recommend anything on the menu as she doesn't like fish. My family and I chose this restaurant on the first night we were in Branson on our last visit. For us our vacations are highlighted by trying new places to eat in search of gems that enhance our experiences. Sadly this wasn't one of them. We were seated by the hostess with the words "your server may be a bit, she has a big party". It was probably around 10 minutes when she showed up. No words of explanation or apology were given. Thank goodness the hostess warned us. The service did not improve during our meal. The food was very slow coming out of the kitchen. The cornbread was like jiffy mix with jalapenos that were barely discernible. Our appetizer arrived some time later. Spinich artichoke dip was very good but the bread seemed to have been laying in a pile of sea salt. Fried alligator and accompanying sauce was good but I wish the breading on the alligator was a little more subtle so the meat could actually be tasted. Another long wait and our entrees arrived. My husband got the trophy burger. It looked pretty good. Unfortunately the patties were not seasoned. I got the fish and chips which were very tasty. On both our plates we had the sea salt steak fries. His were lacking the sea salt but mine were seasoned well. I also ordered a side of mushroom pilaf. Minimal flavor with overcooked rice. My daughter got a steak which has some kind of alcohol on it. She was unable to finish it (and she LOVES steak). Maybe if the alcohol had been reduced out, she could have enjoyed it. Son in law got some platter that had a Cajun fish and crawfish tails. He and my daughter both agreed the crawfish tails were good. I took my girlfriend to the fish house on the first night we got to Branson and let me tell you it was the best choice ever! When we walked into the restaurant the atmosphere fit the name perfectly. The hostess was very friendly and sat us at a booth that we requested and then our server Ana, who was on top of everything kept checking on us every 5 minute or so and did a excellent job! They start us off with corn bread as a complementary! We started off with couple drinks and also ordered alligator tails as an appetizer, which was amazing have to get this! The breading is spicy but it's really not to spicy! We both ordered fish and chips which were cooked to perfection with tons of meat in the breading! Don't get me wrong they were little to greasy but that's the only way you will get a great fish and chips! The portions were huge so don't fill up on the amazing corn bread! While on vacation, we decided to visit this restaurant. It was not crowded. Our server was kind and friendly. Our appetizer came out on time, but our meal seemed to take forever. Three other families were seated, ordered, got their food and finished, and we had not received ours. We had been seated for an hour at this point. I flagged down our waitress and asked if our order had gotten lost and she said "yes, it has. I'm so sorry. It has been moved to the top of the list." Ten minutes later our food was brought. I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos. They were cold and hard. The fries were hot but the tacos were not good. I asked them to take it back and take it off our order. She did, yet there was no other offer to us. I asked for the manager and she said she would take the appetizer off. I told her that the appetizer was the only thing that had come on time and is the cheapest thing on the menu. I asked if they were going to do more and she said, "I'm sorry, we took the appetizer off." So I decided I would let the Yelp world know that there are many better food options while in Branson than the White River Fish House. read more

This place is so much fun to eat at. Its run by Bass Pro so you know its going to be good. They have a machine out front you can pay a quarter and duck food comes out and all the ducks hear the noise and come swimming over. The Gator bites are so tasty (taste just like chicken). We sat outside and the weather was just perfect. You can watch people go up and down a zip line. The sweet jalapeño corn bread was not to spicy. The lunch was shrimp & scallops with angel hair pasta. good flavors but the pasta stuck in one big pile and hard to pull apart. service was fast and efficient. if you want a good meal come to this place read more

White River Fish Company offers above average meals in a comfortable environment. It's as appropriate for date night as it is for a family dine. I don't know that I'd seek this place out in a city with a larger variety of dining options than Branson has, but if I were ever to return to Branson, White River would be on my list. read more

We spent about 10 minutes browsing the menu to decide which entrees we wanted to order to accompany the alligator bites, which were the sole reason we chose to pay the inflated prices to dine at White River. When we placed our order, the waitress told us they had a problem with the supplier of their alligator meat and they hadn't been available for some time. Apparently it has been months since they have offered them. The alligator is a major reason many people patronize this establishment. A quality restaurant would take them off of the menu until they resolve their supply issues. We decided the rest of the menu wasn't appealing enough for the prices they charge, so we left and had lunch elsewhere. read more

She said the course at the Cotton Patch restaurant was better @ half the price. Same for my sons fried catfish. The device was less then stellar.
