We have been going to this restaurant annually during our holiday visits to Branson. We have always loved the food, atmosphere and service. This last visit was different. The menu seemed to be significantly reduced. We are fairly certain that the lettuce on my wife's salad was spoiled. The salmon was not good (has been awesome previously). The restrooms were not clean. The waitress did a good job, but food was delayed for an extended period of time. The waitress was very generous and provided free deserts to make up for delays and bad salad. Thank you! It was a Friday night during dinner rush and we were able to get right in without waiting, which has never been the case...the restaurant was not busy for this time of year. Something has changed at this location. Food quality and selection quite different from multiple previous visits....too bad...this has been a favorite spot for us...a holiday tradition. read more

Branson doesn't seem to be the most vegetarian-friendly city, so when I spied a quinoa black bean burger on the menu, we jumped on it - White River Fish House provides exactly what you would expect when you walk in: good-tasting, mid-west focused, comfort food. The complimentary jalapeño cornbread was delightful, the cheese curds were - well... fried cheese (hard to go wrong there). The side Caesar and house salads were fresh - The veggie burger was "meh", but my dining partner enjoyed their grilled trout. Solid choice for dining, though parking can be a pain... 2nd night in Branson we choose White Fish Restaurant. We were seated immediately and served immediately by an excellent waiter. We ordered the alligator tail which was very tasty! The breading had black pepper in it which we enjoyed. The sauce on the side was a jalapeño jelly and cream cheese mix. My husband and I couldn't decide if we liked it or not...it was different. I had the scallops and shrimp with rice pilaf instead of angel hair pasta. It was delicious and the perfect amount. My husband had fried shrimp which he also enjoyed and commented that the breading was light. This was a plus! Complimentary corn bread was delicious. Just okay. We had the trout almondine and fish & chips. The portions were large and we both had leftovers but weren't super excited about the flavors. My trout needed seasoning, I think I salted it three times, but I really liked the portabello rice that came as a side. The fish of the fish and chips had good flavor, maybe a little too salty for me but it was well liked, the fries however were underwhelming. We had high hopes for this place, but it was a real letdown. Was excited for the venison stuffed mushrooms, but the texture of the meat was off-putting, and the flavor wasntl't much better. Cornbread was the best thing we had here. If you are eating here because you want something better than a chain restaurant, don't bother. We were there on Memorial Day weekend and there was no parking anywhere near. So, after a bit of a walk, we get there to have an hour wait. So, we waited. Our waitress was really sweet and efficient. We ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer and they were ok. Not great but not bad. Caesar salads were meh at best. Not much eaten there. As usual, we chose seats at the bar, and were pleasantly served by Kelby, who shared info about the food and the area with us. The Alligator Tails appetizer was as good as advertised. We're visiting the area, found this place on yelp and it was fantastic! It took a while for our server to get to us but once he did we received the best customer service I've had in a LONG time! Misael was knowledgeable, attentive and courteous. We ordered the venison stuffed mushrooms and they were DELICIOUS! Food is affordable and not heavy, portions were spot on too. This restaurant had an amazing ambiance we had a great view of the water, impeccable service and incredible food...what more can you ask for??? I took my son & his family of 5 for a birthday dinner. The appetizers were good. I got shrimp served with fries,, the fries were cold, the shrimp warm,, and I have had better, buying it in the box at the store and fixing it myself.. my daughterinlaw's chicken was good, my son had the shrimp pasta and it was AWFUL. Not sure if we can blame COVID or not but we visited today for fathers day. Went for lunch around 1:00ish so really not super busy. We waited almost 40 minutes for food which considering it was a kids mac and cheese, shrimp and salad, seems a bit long. Then it was less then great and my husband's fries were cold and the grilled chicken on my salad that I paid a extra 5.00 looked microwaved and my sons mac and cheese looked like it was reheated. Well it tastes like it's owned by Bass Pro and that's not a good thing, it is btw. I love Bass Pro but when it come to food, they don't know what they're doing. First off we were seated and sat here for over 5 mins before I had to ask someone if we had a waiter or not. She came over took our drink order and then delivered our drinks and took our food order. The food came out way too quick, like fast food quick, we walked inside at 5:53 and it's 6:25 and my family is done eating... I mean that's fast food service and I don't like that when I'm spending around $100 for a family of 5. I say my family because I got the $31 halibut plate and it was soo dry and hard it was inedible and my husband got the red fish topped with crab so I asked for that instead and that took longer to cook than our entire meal did and you can definitely taste a difference but I'm pretty sure they cook the fish straight out of the freezer and you can taste it. Too bad there's so many good reviews for this place. You can't get good seafood around here obviously but I just expected a little better. read more
