Beautiful spot out on the lake. We had a quiet lunch outside on the Fourth of July, overlooking the lake. The food was delicious, it was a comfortable atmosphere and we had great service. The interior is unique and rustic, while the exterior patio is so nice as you're out on the patio. We enjoyed our lunches and will definitely be back soon. Well, this place was quite disappointing, from appetizers to entrees. The spinach dip was flavorless and unappealing. The cheese curds were good, I'll give them that. The catfish was partly inedible. It had a slimy black streak thru the entire filet. Disgusting. The tartar sauce was bland. The Mashed Potatoes were good, even though they only give you the tiniest scoop of them. Saw this as we were walking the boardwalk at Branson's Landing. We were seated right away, but then had to find a waitress. After the waitress finally showed up, the service was fast and courteous. The menu had very few options. The food was mediocre. The clam chowder was very good. My husband had The fish and chips and it was average but a very large portion and nice and hot. I had the grilled trout which was so thin it was impossible to not over cook it. I've never had trout that thin. The broccoli was over cooked and plain and the rice pilaf was lacking in flavor. We were very excited to try this place, but the quality of the food was such a disappointment. The cornbread tasted like lake water, the beer-battered fish and chips had hardly any flavor, and the catfish came with two skinny strips and a handful of fries...for $16. When we ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer, the waitress plunked the sizzling cast iron skillet down right in front of our 10-month-old and said "Be careful, it's hot," before walking off. That highly priced spinach dip came with 8 chips and it took 30 minutes for another waitress to bring more chips. Once we were finished eating, we waited for our check so long that my husband ended up taking 3 of our 4 kids back to the car while I waited with our son. We waited for 20+ minutes before the waitress came and asked me if we were ready for our check. (All our food had been cleared and our drinks had been empty for that entire time.) Loved White River Fish House. The atmosphere is so cool with nice fishing/Ozark decor and a very lodge like feeling. Has a cute fireplace waiting area with couches. It's right on the lake so in a beautiful location. Ordered the catfish platter because I absolutely love fried catfish. It was super tasty. Trying to not be as bad so I had broccoli as my side as well as the cole slaw. The cole slaw was EXCELLENT. At the entrance they have little dispensers of Duck food so bring quarters!! We fed the ducks like a dollar's worth of pellets and it was so cute and fun. There were a bunch of little baby ducklings when we went that I loved. read more

My husband got the fish and chips, and his fish was under done in some pieces, while others were completely overdone! The appetizer we chose was the spinach dip, which was cold, and the cheese wasn't even melted while the chips were greasy. We took our parents here for the food and fireworks ,the food for me was just ok...they usually have home runs. My family seemed to be ok with what they ordered. We were looking for a place on the water to have some seafood. This fit that bill, but the food was a little uninspired. Small tap list with small amount of the generic beers. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. I was between 2 and 3 stars, but the food was decent enough to give it 3. The best thing we had, but I wasn't able to get a picture of before my table got into it, was the smoked duck jalapeño poppers. I could have, and probably should have, had a whole one for my dinner. The catfish was ok, same with my wife's walleye. We had a group of 6 and I don't remember anyone commenting on how good or bad the food was. It's owned by Bass Pro Shops, so if you're an enthusiast of Bass Pro, you'll probably enjoy. For me, it was too crowded for what it was. I know, I know having Pasta at a Fish house. I couldn't help it the stomach wants what the stomach wants. The jalapeno cornbread was the bomb. Sweet with a side of heat. I am not a fan of real spicy, but this is not too spicy. I would suggest smothering it with butter! My mom was like "ah no way I'm not eating that, and when she took the chance. She tasted it, and she looked it and we asked for another mini skillet. (they are complementary) I ordered the Shrimp Bonetti. Very good and simple pasta dish. It was filling and it was creamy. It had sauteed shrimp, garlic and a tomato sauce on fettuccine. I also ordered the special dessert of the day which was a berry cobbler. The food was pretty good to start the road trip back home to Michigan. My parents both ordered the fish and chips. I did not taste unfortunately, but my dad said it was filling. The portions were quite large. I also liked the setting of this restaurant it was sitting on the White River. In the front off the side walk is a bride that connects to the restaurant. you have an opportunity to feed the ducks, which is always fun for the small and big kids. Once you go in you can kinda feel a sway on the river, and no matter where you sit, the view is fantastic. The scenery is an ongoing carnival of boats, steamboat, and wildlife. read more

Overpriced food and the quality was meh. Kids meals such as Kraft Mac n cheese and fries was over 10 dollars. Deep fried pickles were great except that 1/4 fourth of it was batter, like the cook poured the bottom of the bag in the deep fryer. Service was average, but this restaurant like many others will only show you 18 20 and 25 percent tips on the bill. Suggesting that 15 percent tip is no longer the norm. read more

I ordered the Rosemary chicken with onion potato. I loved the tender chicken but did not care for the potatoes. Very soggy, oily and no flavor. Next time I'll get the mixed vegetables. My husband got the Huge burger. I don't remember the name but it has double patties and three buns. He liked it tho it needed the requested ranch dressing. I didn't come with a sauce and needed flavor assistance. The kids ordered the grilled chicken. It was juicy, seasoned and good size. I loved the White River Fish Company. It's adjacent to Bass Pro and site right on Lake Taneycomo. It's built on a dock, and has outside seating as well as a walkway around the restaurant. It reminded me of our old fish house at the Lake of the Ozarks. We were seated immediately, and served jalepeno corn bread. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered coconut shrimp. My mom ordered shrimp skewers and fries. I had a look around. There were canoes hoisted on the ceiling, and a fire place with rustic chairs. It had a library around the fire place, with pictures of fish. While we waited for our meal, we watched people fishing in a boat in the lake. The opposite view was a shoreline with ducks. The inside was decorated for Christmas. The shrimp was delicious. So was my mom's shrimp. We paid, and when leaving the dock, a white duck flew up and kicked me, knowing I would feed him.. There is a feed for a quarter gum machine that gives you a hand full of duck feed. They know you are going to feed them. I fed the ducks and they were pleased. I enjoyed the whole experience. I will definitely return when I'm in Branson, if only to feed the ducks. read more

After waiting for 45 mins (when told it'd be about 20, no biggie), I had my daughter go ask if they had our phone number written down correctly. They didn't even have us on a waiting list. I asked for her to repeat it so I knew we wouldn't have to keep waiting to NOT BE CALLED, and she still couldn't write the number correctly. Here's a hint, covid-bs is over, get the dumb pagers back if it's hard to listen to English. Btw, it absolutely was not busy. We have had two very different experiences at white river fish house and it was because of the servers and not the food therefore I am still going to give them 5 stars. The food on both occasions has been constantly wonderful and thats the reason we will return. In regards to service the first time we had an amazing server in fact it was the best service we have ever had however we returned a couple of days later with some family and it was without a doubt the worst service we have ever HAD. I am not going to go into to much detail and like i said we will return since as of now we are 50/50 I just hope next time we fall on the right side of the coin because I cant stand bad service. read more

This was a Valentines Day weekend. I was looking for a nice atmosphere and great food. No disappointments here. We arrived around 7:30 pm and were told they were closing at 8 pm. They still seated us and told us to relax and enjoy our evening. The seating is not actually set up for a romantic 1 on 1 setting, but they went out of their way to make it an unforgettable meal. They did get us sat right next to a window overlooking the lake. The salad was super fresh, an entire loaf of warm bread with melted butter. I had the Walleye with garlic beans. Partner got the 6oz sirloin, rice, and potatoes - said it was "fine", but nothing to brag about. I got the mahi fish tacos - these were the most BLAND fish tacos I've ever had. All I tasted was salt and char (they weren't burnt, just that was the only distinguishable flavors). There was barely any sauce, and the slaw was dry...
