I was too distracted by their large and appealing menu to get the gentleman's name (that I assume was the owner) but he welcomed us in and gave us recommendations. They have a pretty good space if you're looking to eat in. One thing I will say is that it was quite chilly in the establishment. The kind man served us food with ketchup and picked out napkins for us. Had a solid convo with him talking about a food challenge they had when they first opened up 10+ years ago! Burgers were amazing! Definitely a solid sized patty. Bun is sesame galore. I got the mushroom steakhaus - 9/10. What would've made the extra point? A bigger basket. Boy are those burgers big! The attention and hospitality made us feel very welcome. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Prime Burger. Crispy on the outside, packed with well-seasoned chicken inside. Good spice, not overpowering. Came with a salsa and a ketchup-mayo style sauce, both worked, but the salsa had a little more life to it. Before that, warm ciabatta hit the table with a house-made dipping sauce. Oil-based with garlic, blue cheese, and a few other layers going on. The blue cheese gave it a subtle kick without taking over. Nice way to start. Now to the burger, the Luger Burger. I'm assuming it's a nod to the classic steakhouse, but didn't get full confirmation. The sauce is made in-house: slightly sweet, a little acidic (I picked up balsamic), smooth texture. It's a good sauce, it just needed a bigger voice on this burger. The burger itself is large. And I mean large. Menu said thick-cut bacon... that wasn't the case. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. Now I'm going to get a little critical, because this is where it matters. The burger needed more salt. There's a lot of beef here, and it can absolutely handle it. Even something as simple as salting the tomato would've helped bring things together. If the bacon had actually been thick-cut, that alone might've bridged the gap. This was a very beef-forward burger, to the point where the supporting flavors barely showed up. The patty felt a bit too tightly packed, which gave it a denser bite and let the beef dominate the whole experience. A looser grind or lighter hand forming it would've made it more tender and allowed everything else to come through. It also needed more acid. The Luger sauce was applied lightly, so either lean into it more or bring in something else, a pickle, a sharper onion, something to cut through the richness and balance it out. The bun was soft, nicely toasted, and held up well, which isn't easy with a burger this size. Fries were hand-cut, properly salted, and exactly what you want. No complaints there. Overall, this is a great spot. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. Staff was excellent. Food was good, with flashes of being really good. With a few small tweaks, mainly balance and execution on the burger, this could easily jump to the next level.

Then, although we were on time for our 8:15pm reservation, we found out that they didn't have a table for us on the main floor, which is bad because my parents have mobility issues and cannot climb stairs. They asked us if we would be ok waiting five or ten minutes. Sure, that was fine we said. The host was very reassuring and he let us know that the corner table near the fireplace was finishing up and he'd get it bussed promptly. So that was good. But after we sat down we experienced service issues. Many items were unavailable. No orrechiete. No crab cakes. No sirloin special. It was weird. We hadn't arrived that late, on a Saturday night, how could so many dishes be sold out/unavailable? We ended up going with the scotch egg $11 and butternut squash arancini balls $12 for appetizers, which were both great. The scotch egg was a decent size and came with a mini salad. Hamburger and Grilled Chicken is what you would expect it to be and I enjoyed them . What really is special about the place is it's family run with the salad place next to it. After 30 minutes without a server, I asked the host if she could assign someone to us. We then waited nearly another half hour before one of the many servers finally acknowledged us. After waiting an hour for service and asking multiple staff members for help, we were finally able to place our orders. Unfortunately, the food was not the quality I've typically received from Plan B. The nachos were not hot, and when we needed drink refills, we waited another 30 minutes. Our waitress did comp our drinks, which I appreciated, but it did not make up for the overall experience. The explanation we received was that the bartender was in training. That does not explain why our table sat unattended for an hour, why multiple servers walked by without acknowledging us, or why it took multiple requests to the staff before anyone took responsibility for our table. Training a bartender should never result in guests being completely ignored. This was a clear breakdown in communication and management, and it made for one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had.

There's just a few downsides I would like to share-they could really use one of those heater things by the front door, that keeps the cold air out. If you're not sitting in the bar, but at a booth on the left side, you will get a blast of cold air whenever someone enters or exits the joint. Also, I saw at least 3 Uber Eats types waiting a long time to pick up delivery orders. They should speed that up if possible.

Also, they always have an expansive draft beer list so it's fun to try new ones. They bring you a bowl of dill pickle slices to compliment the "burger" theme, but if I had one wish, it would be for Plan B to go back to the awesome pickle wedges from years ago. PS. There's ample outside seating for nice days :-)
