Fun hip vibe. I'm not gluten free but all of the food here is and it was great (can't notice the gf at all). Started with the nachos and calamari and they were both great. Calamari was excellent, super light and crisp. Bacon Mac and cheese was also super creamy and the bacon gave it a good crunch. Bar was fully stocked with great beers and cocktails. Really love this restaurant and the food is amazing but the pricing can be a bit high. They recently raised the prices of their burgers from $19-$20 up to $28-$30. I get a lot of take out from them and they are not consistent with portions. I also love their carrot cake and for $12 a slice, I am often disappointed with the small portions they now serve. It is not worth it for the price. It's so hard to find a GF spot, and even harder a dedicated GF. I just wish they would give a little more bang for the buck. I don't want to shit on this business, but they kind of shit on our birthday dinner, soooo.. Not only the service took forever, which could kind of make sense there was only 1 server and 1 bartender to my knowledge. On a Friday night! But they charged 10$ for a tiny piece of cake for a birthday girl!! Excuse me if I'm wrong, but if there is a +400$ bill on a check don't they just put the cake on the house? Maybe not that big of a deal for some people, but I took it as a very rude gesture from a business. I had pasta which was honestly whatever, pizza looked more legit. Actually, I just asked the rest of the table, pizza was whatever too. We asked for caramelized onions and they gave the raw ones instead. 6 piece Ravioli with chicken were 30$ ; Drinks were good, but took forever. At the end no-one warned us of a 20% service charge and still asked for tips, which is a very known type of thing in restaurants, but I would at least like to be known on whats going on in that bill, unless you're just silently taking advantage of drunk people on a rush at the birthday diner :) didn't ask us to split or share the bill, nope, just silently brought it to the table like "you deal with in on your own." Those service girls also looked like they could be less bothered when we had a question or wanted to order anything. Again, maybe that's because it was only them 2 that night and they had enough of everyone, but that was just a wrong timing for us in that case. I sort of felt like I was invisible when I first came in and waited at the table until someone finally decided to start me at least with the water. The moral of the story: this place is a scam. As rude and harsh as it sounds. Maybe its a heaven for gluten free people (our birthday girl has a severe gluten allergy) but the rest of us will gladly avoid this spot in the future. I was walking on 5 avenue, on March 27, 2023, in Park Slope area. I decided to stopped in WILD, a restaurant and bar, at 148 5th avenue on Douglas street. Wild, Huh? What a unique name. One word says it all. It looked calmed right now, at 4pm, but who knows at 6pm. It was happy hour, all the drinks were $6, and the oysters were $1 each. I ordered 5 oysters and the nice bartendergave me 6. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile. I didn`t see the sign, more tips, less shells. I didn`t give the guy opening the oyster`s shells any tips. He gave me 2 large oysters and 4 small ones. I was dissapointed. This whole shebang seemed tricky to me. I ordered red sangria, and thought it was very good, but the glass was small, and I asked the bartender if I could have a larger one. She said no. I was dissapointed again. I also ordered $10 tapas, which is Shishitto peppers, roasted and served with aioli, a combination of mayo and peppers. They brought me a plate of 8, pinky size, roasted peppers, with dip in the middle. I paid 10 bucks for small roasted peppers with no stuffings. What an odd dish. I don`t know how this dish came to be an apertizer. I was again, dissapointed. I tried to be nice about everything, and didn`t complained a word. The rigatoni ragu is usually very good, but I ordered it last night (with no cheese as always) and it also came with no sauce. An entire pasta dish served with sauce came with no sauce. When we first got there, we saw they have outdoor seating, so we waited until the male server came out and asked him if they had any tables available and if not how long is the wait? We found it VERY rude when he just shook his head & gave such a short answer "No! No tables available" and just walked away to tend his tables. No courtesy whatsoever, it was almost like he didn't want to be bothered with more guests or maybe we just weren't to his liking, who knows! We should've left right then and there... But my partner wanted to try this place for a while and we did travel there for that reason, so we waited to see if someone else would assist us. That's when we saw another waitress, she was blonde and I completely forgot her name, but she was super nice, friendly and caring! She brought out another table and chairs for us just so we didn't have to wait. She then tended to us with our orders. I wish I would've read the reviews before going though... the review talking about the undercooked pizza was definitely us too... we ordered a pizza with chicken and it was literally falling off the bread/crust. Inedible. My partner ordered the penne vodka with chicken and the sauce tasted stale, the chicken was dry and hard. Our waitress offered other dishes to replace it with but at that point we, as a family, we're just over it. Ehh... maybe it was an off day... maybe not, who knows. I live in the neighborhood and would eat brunch at Wild 1-2x/month since they have vegan options available (not super common on 5th Ave aside from VSpot). Unfortunately my partner and I had a very disappointing service experience there this past weekend and will not be going back. We put in an order where we meant to substitute tofu for lamb but we didn't specify (and the server-manager didn't clarify), as it was a substitution we'd received before. We waited for what felt like a long while, watched the table next to us (who were sat after us) get their food first, and inquired with a different server about our food. Got our food, and we ended up getting both tofu AND lamb in the dish. No one came to check on us after we got our food. We ended up picking the lamb out of the dish since we were so hungry. Bill comes, we're charged for the tofu AND the lamb, and a question about this brings out the server-manager. She immediately took an accusatory tone and placed all the blame with me. The situation escalated from there as my partner jumped in and it was clear to us the woman wanted to be "right", without regard for our experience. It's been 4 days and I still have a bad taste in my mouth. I'm shocked that this person was given the responsibility of being a manager when she clearly doesn't have the emotional intelligence to look after customer satisfaction, or the longer-term interests of her employer.
